We are a family of 4 (myself, DH, DS(7) and DS(5)) who will be traveling from Asheville, NC to WDW in May. Our stay at Pop will be Saturday to Saturday.

Mapquest tells us it will take 9.5 hours. Our last trip took 12 thanks to a DS who hated his carseat & was in diapers :sad2:

We think we will budget a 10 hour drive ~ leaving somewhere around 11 a.m. so DS gets a counted for a 'full' day of school, drive on down and stay close to WDW so we can get an early start the next morning. I would LOVE to be there by 9 p.m. or earlier.

We would also LOVE to be in the WDW mood upon arrival on Friday. Any decent hotels you would suggest close to the world that include a breakfast so we can be up and on our way AND in the WDW spirit? We really want to be close so we don't have to deal with excited children and possibly lost parents :rotfl2:

When would you book? Is it better to wait or surf out a deal for one night now?

Thank you for your help and guidance!

I would be place that really close to DTD that would have breakfast. I would check mousesavers see if they have discount to DoubleTree Suites.

Whatever you do don't believe mapquest. Trips usually take less than indicated. But that depends on your driving habits. I don't tend to stop very often, but you might have to :P
