Hi all! The reason we were in Detroit: we went to help close up the house because Mom is visiting my sister for a month. As far as the job hunt goes....er...um...I'm looking real hard

DH and I went and got apples at the orchard this afteroon and I made a pie to make the hosue smell good and take my mind of things
A shopping trip would've done the trick too, but I am really too stuffy and achey to have gotten into the thrill of the bargain hunt

Hi Debbie! Did I hear "bargains"???? Wow--wish I had been there. I had to work this week-end, altho I did get over to Kohls and get some clearance summer clothes for the boys--large enough to fit next summer, of course. I love grabbing those bargains.

Milo--Hope all went well with the house. How is your mom doing, now?

As far as that job hunting---did you say "looking real hard" or "really hardly looking"?

Hi milo....why don't you just use your instrument and start playing with the band. You could travel around playing and stop in our home towns and visit !!

yes lots of sales and then you add coupons and you end up paying 50% of original price. Mostly bought clothes for the boys but also a glider rocker that matches my living room furniture and a new bed. We're sick of our water bed. Went back yesterday for 40% off sale at JCPenney but didn't find anything. Ended up on car lots looking at brand new vehicles. Don't know how we landed there....I think Mike had sumpin to do with it.....and Justin got a free hot dog but luckily we got off those with out buying anything My car runs just fine

It's Monday...my family is a mess (not DH and DD - the extended family), my work life is a mess, I have a bad cold,
and I need a trip to WDW.

OK, to top off my day, I drove an hour to DD's game, her team stood around with their heads up their behinds for 15 minutes and watched the other team score 3X in 15 minutes on DD. One of the three she really could/should have saved (even she herself and the coach concurred with my assessment later ) They were totally outplayed and ended up losing 4-0, though DD made some spectacular saves in the second half. Her team had maybe 3 shots on the other keeper and a penalty kick which they missed. Ah well, it's only a game....it was at least a diversion from the other stuff going on in my life!

Going to have my self a piece of apple pie for dinner........DD needs the computer for homework. HAve a good night!

Justin lost his JV game as well today and Mike's Varsity team tied 2-2.... although pleased to say that both goals were scored by Mike

Thanks for writing. It's so good to hear from you. Yes things are well. We now have a 2 1/2 yr. old little girl, whos a real firecracker, she's into everything, toilets (but not for potty training for dunking), cabinets, garbage pails, jumping from the highest points in the room, etc. Probably sound familiar from when your two boys were younger. Between Svetlana, Ariana and Nick haven't had time to come on DIS. Nick hogs up the computer, because he was/is out of work and is starting up his own thing.
How are you, the boys and how are the cheerleaders?
Once the girls go to school I'm going to get back on the Dis and say hi to the cheerleaders, I've sure missed it. Tell everyone I said hello.

Nah I have not - not sure where to put some things. Shopping spree you say?? I wish I had the money - it is bad enough that I have had to not pay some credit cards bills to keep electric and such on. It sucks not having any money. Actually it is very depressing - the bills just keep coming in and there is not much I can do. I have been trying to work OT but it is not available all the time. *sigh* I hate being a grown up!!!!

Arrrggghhhhh----frustration rears its ugly head.
OK--here's the deal.....
Shawn and Justin want to see the Disney on Ice Show. I want to see the 100 Yrs of Magic one specifically, but, it's not coming to Louisville--just the Jungle Stories and only the worst seats are left for it.
So, I had this brilliant plan---Cincinnati is only 2 hrs from here. The 100 Yrs Show is there on a week-end I am off from work. I thought "Great--I'll book a room using Starwood points and drive up there for a week-end with the boys--see the Show, the Zoo and the Aquarium"...kind of an extension of our summer zoo week-ends.
When we stay at a hotel, the boys want to swim....all of the time, so, a pool is a must. So, I find a Sheraton in Cincy with an indoor pool. Got enuff points to cover it. So far, so good. But....it's only available one night that we are there. The other Sheraton in Cincy only has a heated outdoor pool and I imagine it will be a little nippy to swim (heated or not), if it is even open then.
Oooohhh--why does everyone want to stay there that night??? Can't they go somewhere else???

Gail--Thanks for (finally ) sharing the note from Poppins. I saw that she posted on another thread a couple of weeks ago and wondered which of us had not been bathing again,,,,,

Christine--I can totally relate to the $$$$$ thing. I think we all feel the crunch sometimes. Hope it soon eases for you (And me, too!)

I've been wondering about Nancy too.....maybe she's taking a CB break because I've seen her posting on the DisCon board.

Sue...don't know what to say about the weekend except that I hope it all worksout and you have fun!! And perhaps even if you go to one with the outdoor heated pool for one night, I bet the boys would still love it

DD had her name in the paper this morning for playing well despite the 4-0 loss , Varsity lost 2-0 hehehe , boy's Varsity lost 4-3, and boys JV had a scoreless OT tie. So this was a real strong overall program in that town.
Way to go Mike!

My nose is all red from blowing it, even with those nice soft (pricey) lotion-tissues . Last week my immediate supervisor's father died. This week HER immediate boss, the manager of our division, lost HER father. aaaaarrggggghh Gotta go to another wake tonite.
Meanwhile, my nutcase sibling is on the loose creating unspeakable turmoil in other people's lives.
Keep telling myself this too shall pass, count your blessings, etc etc but YIKES!
BTW, you guys are very high on my list of blessings
