He's such a cutie, isn't he?

And I got my first little boy 'golden shower' yesterday! I was changing him and hadn't gotten a clean diaper on him yet when I decided to clean his cord with an alcohol wipe. I wiped his cord down and all of a sudden, he started peeing all over the place. I called for DH and then collapsed on the floor, and nearly ripping the stitches of my episiotomy out from laughing so hard.

Then this morning..I had to call on DH's help again because I went to change him and he hadn't quite finished poopng yet. So he got semi-liquidy poop all over the changing table, his outfit, me, the <i>clean</i> diaper....

Oh my goodness, hes so tiny! Take lots of pictures, because they grow so fast.

What we did to prevent those surprise attacks was we always had one of those burpee cloths/ cloth diapers handy while changing DSs. We would just throw it over the area and it worked like a charm. Now if we could have just figured out something to use in the tub, LOL!

Congratulations again, hes is absolutely beautiful! Oh and BTW, where are the pictures of mom?

I remember those 'showers!' He got DH a lot more often than me. Sometimes it went straight up in the air and landed back on him. I remember my then 2 year-old DD saying "Mommy! He pee pee in his face!" Then came the sponge baths because I had no clue where it had all splashed and I didn't want any left on him. After a couple of those incidents, I was good about remembering to cover him with a burp cloth. Ah...the memories.
Baby James is adorable. Thank you for posting the pictures, I've been checking in periodically with the hope of catching a glimpse of him.

Yup, those slightly jaundiced babies in the window making like a houseplant, I remember those days. Jeff was really yellow and the doc had me doing that, one of the older kids said "Mommy, is Jeffy in the window so he'll gwow like the garden in the sunshine?"

Usually they will just tie off a skin tag and then it falls off. Unless there is bone in there, that is a different story. Our first son used to spray my husband all the time. Never happened to me. I was quick draw McGraw with always having a new diaper under the baby while taking away the old diaper. I put it up immediately. In between wipes as well. Just a trick from the hospital so I wouldn't have to do laundry over and over!

He is adorable. Glad you are feeling well and enjoying him.

Actually, you don't have to clean the cord with alcohol anymore. Just leaving it dry and outside the diaper helps it fall off faster.

Rudimentary digits are very common, and nothing to worry about. I personally have tied off several, just as wilderness01 describes. Heals well, and others will never be able to tell anything was there at all.
