Hi all,

We are going to be at WL August 24th - 31st. Does anyone have a general idea what time they typically do the duck races and how often they do it during a week? I know it varies but I am just trying to get a feel for how they have done it in the past.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello all! Leaving Saturday 4:45 a.m. for the airport.... heading for our magical trip to WDW and WL :cheer2: :goodvibes

I will fill you all in when I return :teeth:

While the schedule is subject to change, the times I have listed below do seem to be the norm.

Duck Races on Upper Silver Creek
Sunday
Wednesday
Saturday @ 3:00p.m.

Have fun and pick a fast duck.

What are the duck races?
On select days the lifeguards gather everyone that wants to race to the Upper Silver Creek, were they are assigned a duck (with a #) The ducks are sent down the Creek and which ever duck reaches the end of the creek first wins. (the winner does recieve a prize) It's great fun and the childern all cheer the ducks on their journey.

The Duck's are not the infamous Devil Ducks from a resent thread posted here on the Resort Forums:

They are all sweet Rubber Duckie's

Back in 11/03, our first day staying at the WL my youngests daughters duck won the race :cool1: It was pretty amazing she won because there were so many kids there that day they had to make two races. Anyway...the prize was a free one hour boat rental :) Not sure if they still give such a great prize.

Thanks for the quick relpy. If that schedule holds it will be perfect for us. We will be there on all of those days and plan to be back at the resort for rest during that time.

Now... time to start that ever important duck hydrodynamic research! pirate: Heh, heh.

From these boards I have read standard and woods views being bumped up to Courtyard view.

We have a Courtyard view booked for late June 2006 - AAA rate ($279).

Could we be bumped up too ? To what view ?
Any chance of a CL bump ?

It will be our 21st anniversary - what a nice surprise :wizard: that would be.

Hi everybody! We just got back from 5 nights at VWL in a one bedroom and two nights at BC. I just wanted to tell everyone that the WL is amazing, and I loved it. BC didn't even come close- kids loved the pool of course- but WL is special. Thanks for your help.

I agree..WL is special! We stayed there by chance last September on a spur of the moment trip and FELL IN LOVE!!!

We'll be staying there again this coming December splitting our stay between SSR (or BWV/waitlisting) and then WL. We couldn't resist getting a WL reservation, especially around the holiday!

We got a Courtyard View room for @$240/night with AAA discount.

Can't wait to go back!!!

Thank you zdad for the suggestion of an aerobed :cloud9:

Just catching up on Lodge News.... so hello everyone, thanks for all the updated info. :flower:

We're heading down next week (July 30-August 6) and are really getting psyched.

One last bit of business, though. Does anyone have a list of room #'s for the junior suites, with any recommendations?

We were on the 3rd floor last time on the short part of the building (between the wings) with a great view of the pool, and a partial view of the Bay. We'd love to try something higher, and have heard that some junior suites have great views of the Bay and the pool... and even the fireworks?

Anyway, I'd apprecaite any advice. Scanned the thread but didn't see this addressed.

Lastly, what is the current best way/chance to request a specific room? Or is really not possible?

Thanks!
