Yes, it is usually around 3, but this last trip it was almost 4 before our room was ready.....I would think 4:30 would be a safe time....in all my trips to WDW, this was the first time our room wasn't ready be 3 - never stayed at WL before, so don't know if that is common there, but isn't at the other places we have stayed.....we were so anxious to check in....had driven over 18 hours then went to the parks to play for several hours, so at 3, we were ready for showers, naps, pool, something...that extra hour was tough :hourglass ...but the resort was awesome, so we quickly got over it.
Thanks carol. I think I will keep the 4:30 delivery time.

Hi! I hope someone can help. I just put a courtesy hold on WL concierge Feb 9th - 12th. We have been to WL (loved it!) and because we are only staying 3 nights (post 4 Day Wonder cruise woohoo!) I figured I would spring for the concierge. I started going through this thread and I'm catching bits and pieces about a renovation. What's up - I'm not sure I want to spend the extra money if I am in construction central. Can anyone let me in on what is planned! Thanks for any replies.

Just a bump. :Pinkbounc to find out also. I read it was almost done, then the Disney People didn't like the way it was turning out/ or some of the fixtures and sent them back to get better/different ones? I think that is how it went, But I know many people have been there recently-- (I have seen their tickers go down to 0 and I was jealous :rolleyes1 )

So let us know the update..... anyone..... :listen:

The construction on the new lounge is for the most part completed.

The refurbishment planned to start in Jan 2006 is for software (bedspreads, wallpaper, carpet) no major construcion. When they did the construction for the new lounge on the 7th floor, they made sure no guest were disturbed by taking the rooms next to and below the construction area out of service.

The refurbishment will start on the 7th floor and then continued through the resort. Disney has in the pass taken blocks of rooms or floors (wings) out of service until work has been completed so other guest are not effected.

Hope you have a great trip.

Just back from the Wilderness Lodge concierge and the Polynesian concierge.

The new WL concierge "lounge" was not open during our stay. It looks like it will only house the food offerings and not be a lounge, exactly. It's not very large, so I don't see how they could fit any tables, chairs, or sofas. It looked very nice though, and I was able to snap a picture of the inside, which I will post tomorrow night. The doors to this new lounge are metal and look VERY similar to the doors on the big fireplace in the lobby. Metal frames, metal cut-outs, and metal mesh.

I have seen people say that they don't like the WL concierge because of the tables being spread out along the railings that overlook the lobby. Personally, DH and I LOVED this aspect of the WL concierge floor. We loved grabbing some food then taking our plates to a table along the railing, and looking down on that huge, beautiful lobby while we ate. I also got pictures of the 2 new flat panel plasma tv's. There are comfortable sofas and chairs in front of the tv's.

We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere of the Wilderness Lodge, including the concierge floor. The concierge CMs really didn't do much for us, they were very pleasant, though.

My own computer is down, I'm on DH's secondary computer right now. He hopes to have my computer running tomorrow, so I can post the pictures I took.

Any questions, feel free to ask! :)

We loved this too! It was a great way to start and end the day!

I have looked everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE..........and I can't find it!!

Ok, I have read through all 104 pages of this thread and know what my dream rooms would be, but I wanted to get some advice on what to have our TA add to our reservation for requests.

We are a party of 3 adults and 2 young children and have reserved 2 courtyard view rooms.

My dream would be to have two connecting rooms, one with bunk beds that were inner courtyard/lobby rooms in the wolf face on floors 4 or 5.

Now should I request connecting rooms, one being a bunk room? Should I add on the inner courtyard/lobby request? Should I just wait to ask when we get there?

Thanks.

Just an item for those doing future research. here is the view from room 4041. It is inner courtyard, facing out toward the lake. It is directly over Artist Point. I had two queen beds.

We would take this room again in a heartbeat ! It was BTW an ungrade from a woods view ressie. Make up for having no bunk beds. I'll take that trade every day !!

LOL. This is my second location I would want! 4th or 5th floor over Artist Point!

We will be staying here at the end of September with a Standard view. However, I am a light sleeper. I would really like a view of the MK. Smoking rooms don't really matter. Unless they are filled with smoke, are they? Is the 6th floor the only smoking floor? Should I ask for North wing, Mk view. And inform them of my light sleeping habits?

THANKS EVERYBODY!!!

I'm sooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!! :cool1: I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control and I think I like it!

All the smoking optional rooms are located on the sixth floor far North Wing, Not the area where the standard rooms are located on the 6th floor. They are either Lodge View (woods view) or inner Courtyard View. So you don't have to worry, I have never stayed in one of these rooms so I'm not sure about the smell.

I'm not sure about the light sleeping habits, when I have stayed at WL I haven't ever heard noise that would wake me. (other then family members in the room) When we stayed over the delivery area I didn't hear anything unless I was out on the balcony.

The view of Magic Kingdom was wonderful.

This may be somewhere within this long - great ;) thread....

Is the WL pool really too small for the resort ?
Is it smaller than the Contemporary main pool with the slide ?

Crowds ? best time to go 9 am ? before noon ?
Really bad at 1 pm ? or 2 pm
Do crowds build more towards 3 pm or before ?

Thanks !

I was unable to locate a general email address for Wilderness Lodge. Perhaps you can call to find out?

Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Telephone: (407) 824-3200
Fax: (407) 824-3232

Is it smaller than the CR? I don't really think so. They are two very different pools.

Is it too small for the resort? Not in my opinion. Remember, you also have access to the pool on the "villas" side of the hotel. (Also known as the quiet pool as there is less appeal by the kids.) This pool also has a hot tub.

So, if you think of it, you have the main pool and main hot tub plus the main kiddy pool then you have the villas pool and villas hot tub.

Lots of water for ya.

I don't believe the pool is to small for the resort. Wilderness Lodge has 728 rooms, and 136 Villas. The Lodge was the Main pool Silver Creek Pool and the Hidden Springs Pool over near the Villas.

Yes it is smaller than the Contempory's Main pool but the CR has over a 1000 rooms total Tower and Wings.

We have gone to the pool during all the times you have listed, the crowds are heavier around 3pm. They are almost empty in the mornings.

I just wanted to say Hi and also say the WL is my favorite palce to stay. When they first built it I had said I wanted to stay there and for some reason (which I cant remember) decided against it and for our Dec 2003 trip we stayed at CBR. We came back in June 2004 and stayed at the WL!!!! What a wonderful resort and I can not imagine staying anywhere else!!
