Welcome back, kiddo

So glad you had such a wonderful time. Good news about the concierge construction. Sounds wonderful. I can't wait to go for my birthday in July. Hope they are finished by then.

Sounds lovely, Becky! Thanks for the update.

I'm sure many people will be glad of the new "soft ware" (*LOL* I though you were talking computer stuff) and internet upgrades. I think the were amoung the biggest "complaint" issues on these brds.

Thanks for all the great information. The new lounge sounds awesome!! I usually always stay in the WLV's, but I think I'm going to have to check this out for myself soon! :earsboy:

Welcome home! :sunny:

Jeanne

 I was also thinking of you and Marcel when Mark said July completion, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Oh...Terry and I managed a beautiful dinner at Artist Point, guess what I had...Copper River Salmon OMG was it wonderful it just melted in your mouth the bearnaise sauce was delicious. We also had the Smoky Portobello Soup with Roasted Shiitakes and Chive Oil I wanted to pick the bowl up and lick it clean. I now have a new favorite soup.

Beckie

Fred  I can't wait to visit again.

Of the last 3 Disney trips we have gone on. We had stayed at the WL twice. The last time I stayed at the Contemporary. Only because we got a good rate in the tower and I took my to DD's myself. But, no worries. The whole family is going again this August. And we are staying in the WL. Aug.25-31, 6 nights, my longest trip yet. :cool1:

OPPS !!

This is also new: Reguarding upgrades to Concierge per the front desk all upgrade cost will now be the differance between the room rate you paid and the listed rate for the concierge room cost. (not sure of cost if you have an AP discount on your room)

Example:Value Season (concierge rate $360.00)
Standard View room rate $ 199.00=cost to upgrade $161.00 a night.
Woods View room rate $230.00=cost to upgrade $130.00 a night
Courtyard View room rate $255.00=cost to upgrade $105.00 a night

So if you want Concierge you should go ahead and book it at the listed rate, no more last minute check-in deals.

Yep, found this out last when we checked in last week. They do adjust for the AP's, but the cost to upgrade remains the same. We had a Woods View on an AP rate and to upgrade it was $130.00 a night. I passed this time around.

After reading the "quote" noticed my poor spelling...that should have been...difference...not differance. :earsboy:

Magicinmyheart --

thanks for all the great info. We will be back in Feb, hopefully staying again in the honeymoon suite. :goodvibes By then, the internet and everything in the new "club" area will be finished :goodvibes . thanks for the price info also, its always a good reminder to see the difference in prices.

Beckie,

Firstly, WELCOME BACK!!

Thankyou so much for the updates! After hearing about the new 'Club Level'
(is that what you ask for when booking now?) I REALLY want to book that now.
Since we're not going until Fall of 2006, surely it will be completely finished by then :confused3

I had thought about booking at The Villas but I think it would be to $$$.(We would want a 2 bdrm)

Are the chances of getting a bunkbed room still pretty good even when booking Concierge? Oops, Club level?
And all the 7th floor rooms are non-smoking right?

Chris

Hi guys!,

Im going to WL, July 7 to 11, i have a woods view at AP rate 155 + tax. Is it possible to upgrade to Courtyard for 180 + tax at check-in. Or would i have to pay rackrate of 255 + tax ???

Thanks in advance, Denmark. :wave2:

Hi everyone! ok here goes... We were going to stay at AKL for our upcoming June 29 - July 6th trip. But then my DH called and inquired about the CR and WL.

So I am on the fence here...we really liked the Bunk Bed idea. Can I request one at WL? What are the chances of me getting that request. We would have a courtyard room.

And is the clubhouse still open at WL for the kids so we could have a little adult time?

Sorry if all this was asked earlier...I am trying to read the thread...its huge!

:) eaturpasta1--- Yes the kids club was there when we were there if FEB, full of kids :flower: However we did not request a bunk bed room, so I do not know the answer to that part of your question.

Have a good trip the WL is GR8!! :teeth:

Mark said all the Resorts will be changing over to their "Club Names" they have all had them for years but just haven't been used that frequently. If you are going to be calling for your reservations soon I would just request Concierge as this is the verbiage that CRO is still using. The 7th floor does have rooms with the Bunk Beds so make your request at booking. All the rooms on the 7th floor are non-smoking.

The 2-bedroom Villas are beautiful and I would choose the Villas everytime.

Not sure how many are going to be traveling with you this trip, but I would also choose the 1-bedroom over Concierge if staying more than three days. Having the full kitchen and washer/dryer in the room is priceless. Plus you would have twice the sq. ft.

Chances are real good that you may receive an upgrade at no charge, at check-in just ask if a courtyard view is available. The upgrade charges I posted yesterday are to upgrade to Concierge Level, not for a view upgrade. Sending you :wizard: PIXIE-DUST :wizard: for your upcoming trip.

I know it's hard picking a resort with so many to choose from, I have stayed in almost all the Disney Resorts and each one has their own special feel. Where is my first choice...always the Wilderness Lodge :confused3

You may request Buck Beds, the Lodge will try and meet your request if they have a room with bunk beds available.

The Cubs Den is still available and two of my many nephews visited just last week-end ages 5 & 8 they didn't want to leave when we went to pick them up. (they had dinner while staying there) The cost was $10.00 per child per hour, my sister said it was worth every penny.

Hope you have a wonderful trip wherever you stay.
PS: Added this to say the night we used the Cubs Den they would only allow up to nine children. During your stay you may want to make a reservation with them as soon as you know which night you would like.

Just had to say that we returned from our first trip to the lodge last night, WOW! This place is amazing and we will be returning "home" again in the future. I was almost in tears when we had to leave on the 7th day. My four year old son said "mommy, I sure will miss Wilderness Lodge" . . .me too! We were welcomed by a warm staff, were blessed by room 6023 right by the elevator to roaring forks, INCREDIBLE view of the fireworks and monorail, and quiet as can be. Enjoyed turn down service and great mousekeeping every day/night. Enjoyed a hysterical meal at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. The pool and grounds are so pretty you just could go on and on. The transportation was excellent (does take quite a long time to get to Downtown Disney, but that was expected). We enjoyed using the boat system for the first time. Like I said, we were spoiled this trip and are now HUGE fans of the Wilderness lodge.
