The NEW WL FAQ (Part 5) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

This is such a great thread, I have been reading when I can to prepare for our first stay at WL in June. One question, and I'm sorry if it's been asked before, but do they have internet access in the rooms? We have two woods view rooms booked and my DS wants to bring his laptop. Also I'm going to request to have the rooms on the north side, high floor facing the otter pond thanks to the great suggestions here.

Thanks again for the help!

hey magic or anyone,
anyone have a email address for guest relations or any contact email address for the lodge..I cant call them long distance cause we dont have it on our phone..

Thanks to all you vets out there, you're the reason why I changed from CSR to WL. I just feel like it's sooo far away.

Jeanne, thank you so much for the great info. I think I will schedule him for one (and maybe one for me too.) If I can get it while the kids are busy that will give me some alone time too!!! Thanks again!!

My MIL is now out of surgery (about 25 minutes ago) and will be in recovery till AT LEAST 6PM. The dr successfully replaced 3 of the 4 bad arteries; the next 24-48 hours are CRUCIAL! Please keep praying for her..... :guilty:

Kimmar

Hi all, I just wanted to thank you for all your help. We leave in the morning and should be home at the Lodge by noon. :cool1: :cool1:

Hope you have a safe weekend. I look forward to sharing when we come back.

We just returned from a 7 day / 6 night stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We loved it!! We were upgraded to a courtyard view and our room was 4023. It was a great location where we could watch all of the activity at the pool and also see the EWP at night. We did the Wonders of the Lodge tour with Ranger Stan who was a little under the weather as he had just had some dental surgery but took a couple of days off and was feeling much better. Thanks again for all of your tips and advice on this thread (and others too) I felt much more prepared and we really enjoyed our trip. But now I am back to the winter weather - and possibly more snow. How I wish for more of that :sunny:

Isn't Ranger Stan Great! We got to do the flag raising last July and my 4yr old DS loved Stan. He has to have the greatest job.

We were the flag family one morning during our 01 vacation and had the opportunity to meet Stan. He certainly is a very nice man.
This past Oct I took the morn tour w/him.
Will get the chance to see him again this August.

Just back (3 hours ago) from a glorious first time trip at the WL!! Count me in as an official "Lodge Lover". Checked in Sunday the 6th at 10am, jaw dropped wide open at the beauty of the lobby!!! Greeted by an awesome CM who gave us an unrequested upgrade to Courtyard view (and I was only paying 138 per nite due to the BDP code..gotta love mousesavers!).

Our room was ready so we were able to go right in room #1161 first floor 10 steps from the pool. Kids loved the bunk beds. Hubby and I loved the peaceful atmosphere. It is so nice to return "home" from a busy day at the parks and kick back and relax. Enjoyed exploring the lodge, loved the water parade at night. The kids are already asking when we can go back!!

WCC was a blast and our waiter Stephen was awesome!! Roaring Forks was great for a quick bite. My only regret was not scheduling a "down day" to hang out and relax. WDW just brings out the go go go in me.

Thanks to all you WL vets for the info prior to our visit. It helped so very much.

Kimmar, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

WOW...great upgrade, so glad you had a MAGICAL STAY.

While I love Wilderness Lodge I know it isn't for everyone...glad to have another kindred spirit that loves the lodge...Did you get to meet Erika?

Kimmar,

Lots of pixie dust and prayers coming your way for your MIL's recovery and for your entire family!!! :grouphug: I have not been on the DIS for a while, so just read the news... :guilty: Sorry about posting here, rather than the other thread, but I wanted to make sure you got the message. I hope things are continuing to improve...keep us posted.

Best wishes :flower1:

We have been back almost a week and I have nothing to plan. :sad2: We are shopping for bunkbeds like the ones in our room. The bunks were my kids favorite part of the trip. We would be in the middle of MK and my 3 yr. old would ask to go back to the bunkbeds. They loved the WL and blizzard beach the most. I wish that I was there now. I really didn't get my warm weather fix because it was so cold during our visit. I think that we need to go again! My husband is going to kill me if I start asking about a trip. I will have to talk to all of you about it. :teeth:

I am extremely interested in staying at the WL for my honeymoon. My fiance' and I are discussing resort options. She last visited Disney when she was only 5 and I visited many times while in HS and an undergraduate. I have only stayed at the Polynesian and All-Star Music resorts, and while I enjoyed both, they don't seem to be GREAT places for a Honeymoon. The WL looks like it could prove to be very cozy and romantic. We will be going in January '06 and it looks like the WL has everything we want in the Honeymoon Suite.

If anyone has stayed in on of these suites, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated - ANY and ALL recommendations from standard to deluxe to suites is also welcome. Thanks in advance.

Cindy, I noticed you're from Houma, so is my fiance' and we're actually having our ceremony down there. From one Louisianian to another, what was your impression of the romance level and the fit of the WL with regards to the weather.

Thanks EVERYONE for your help!!!

Hi kpjr80,

The WL is very romantic!! Even with the families and kiddies around there were lots of nooks and crannies to get away from everyone. I would love to go back with just Hubby and I for a getaway. You can find lots of places to sit and enjoy a drink and people watch and still be alone. It has an atmosphere that cannot be beat. And the staff there, IMO, is top notch. If you let them know you are on your honeymoon, I'm sure you will be surprised with a few things. We were just there in Feb, and the WL was at 95% capacity and it still did not seem crowded at all. I would honeymoon there in a minute.

What High school did you finance attend? Maybe I know her family.

MAGIC, No I did not see Erika on my trip. I thought I would recognize her from
her wedding picture, but no such luck!!

Kimmar, are you still headed to the world soon? My thoughts are still with you and yours.

Cindy :flower:
