We were at Once Upon A Toy back in Oct. and they had them in stock. That is the only place they carry them besides WL that I know of.

We have one and love it! Course we are sorta partial to WL anyway

Not sure but I was always under the impression that they were only found at the Mercantile at WL. I could be wrong though.

I was wondering, can I buy the Wilderness Lodge Lincoln logs at Downtown Disney ? I am trying to save time if I can just get them over there.

There isn't an enclosed lounge so to speak but there is places/tables where you can sit down after you get your food or drink. These tables are placed right next to the railings overlooking the marvelous WL lobby so you get quite a nice view plus you get to hear the lobby music playing in the background.

They "are" currently constructing a lounge area that will have couches and chairs and a plasma TV on the wall but I don't have a date for completion. Of course, I will be there in a few weeks so I'll know more then.

Enjoy all that the Lodge and Disney World have to offer. Make sure you rub the bear's nose at the mercantile. :)

Does the WL conceirge level have its own wall enclosed lounge? Or is the stuff set up at the end of a hall or something. I think I read somewhere that there was not a regular lounge there. Set me straight please.

Yes, they are available at DTD at the big Toy Store...I saw them there a few weeks ago when I was looking for X-mas presents for my nephews...

I came THIS close to getting them for myself...

Thanks for the replies. I want to mail back my stuff, this way I can mail back more at one time.

Just wanted to let everyone here know that my WL Photo Gallery has seen over 65,000 total views since I started it a year or so ago. That's quite impressive. I love to think of how many people got some great views of WL because of it.

I hope to be hitting the 100,000 mark. I will make sure to let you all know when I do. :)

Hi Everyone,

We got back from our trip to WL on Christmas Eve. We had a great time. The Lodge looked beautiful with all the decorations. We stay in room 5061. It was a courtyard view and had bunk beds. Mousekeeping was not that good. We recieved no service two different days, that we know of. We had requested turn down service and they ended up doing it. But other than that we had a great time. Smooth check in, wonderful CM's at the Logde and in the parks.

I have always love the Poly, but after staying at both the Poly and WL this year, I enjoyed WL so much better. :flower1:

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a Happy New Year! :Pinkbounc

From what I've read recently, it seems as though many DISers who visited WL during the holiday had issues with Mousekeeping. Maybe due to such resort saturation??

Thanks for your report, ValerieK!

The Concierge Lounge ---

We just returned from WL Concierge and saw no evidence of construction of a Lounge (a long time rumor). We even tried to determine where they could put a lounge

eliminate a honeymoon suite?
construct an overhang over the lobby?
Take over the 6th floor "lounge area" at the front of the lodge? (accessed via the steps by the honeymoon suites)

Mousekeeping ---

We had Diana as our mousekeeper and she was great as usual. She makes the best towel animals. We came home with a suitcase full.

Diana is great isn't she!!

So far it may be a rumor but it's not....I just don't know if it was officially approved for construction and will confirm when I am down in January.

Ok, picture this....

Coming up from the lobby....you walk out of the elevator and turn to your left (the concierge desk is immediately to your right of course....) and face a wall. That is where I believe the new lounge will go. If you look closely, you will see there is quite a bit of space between that wall and the back wall of the first honeymoon suite.

I won't say it will be a LARGE lounge area but it's something and that's better than nothing.

Many people also don't take the tables all around the lobby for you to sit down and enjoy your snack or drink. It's the place I spend many of my mornings enjoying the lobby view.

Glad that you had a good time. :)

I'll be there in a few weeks. Almost time for the single digit dance!!

Fred - I am eager to read your news from your next trip! I just booked part of our Spring Break trip at WL CL and cannot wait to try it out. We spent a few nights in a regular room there last Spring Break and fell in love with the resort...
Any tips for room requests? I will be traveling with my daughter (age 8),SIL and two little nieces (6 and 2); If I can get an umltd. funds situation going , I'd love to try and book one of the Suites :)

I need advice from all you WL experts. We have WL booked in February using the AP rate for our DS 6, DS 5 and DD 1. Now we're getting advice from friends to go to AK claiming the kids will love it so much more. I've never been to either & I'm sure AK is great but from reading this great thread it seems WL is a special place. Am I doing the right thing or should I consider switching to AK? Why am I driving myself crazy????

I have stayed once at WL and three times at AKL (going for #4 in February). You cannot go wrong with either! WL is indeed special - when I was there last April I swore I'd never stay anywhere else! I used to feel that way about the GF...then I felt that way about AKL...then after 2 nights at BWI Concierge I wanted nothing more than to stay there! Try not to second guess yourself! Your boys will ADORE WL and so will you!

Thanks! I'll stop driving myself crazy now and will definitely report in about our trip to WL when we're back.

Everyone, read the post I just made in the community forum. We all need to come together and help those poor souls that were affected by this Tsunami.

Thanks,

I love both resorts, but the AKL is so far from the Magic Kingdom that the Wilderness Lodge wins everytime.

The animals over at AKL are wonderful but my nephews and nieces when given an option always choose the WL. (ages 20-5) There are so many activities at the Lodge and Ft. Wilderness Campground. You will also have quick access to the CR, plus Bay Lake for the watercraft if the weather is good.

Which ever resort you decide on, please visit the other during your stay each are unique.

ok everyone..I finnally uploaded a few of my WL pics from 12-04-->12-12 stay.My apologies for the redundantancy in some of the pics but as my significant other calls me with the digital camera "You can take as many pictures as you want, your the unlimited picture boy"

Try MyPublisher. My DH surprised me with an awesome album of our last Disney trip. You e-mail them your pix and choose whatever options you want. My DH did some cute one-liners for each page. Its a great keepsake!
