Does anyone have pictures of the honeymoon suite?

I'm planning on having my wedding at disney. First 4 nights at the polynesian for the wedding stuff...then the second 4 nights at another hotel so we have a break and feeling between wedding and honeymoon. The honeymoon suites seem so reasonably priced compared to the other hotels...

Great information, thank you!!!

We reserved a Woods View with Bunk Beds 2/28 - 3/4. We would love to get a peek of Wishes or the Water Parade (can't remember what it is called) at night from our balcony since we will be back in our room by the time they start (young children). Suggestions?

Dh and I are sooooooo excited about our trip. We haven't told the kids yet.

:yay:

Thank you!!

Check the link in my signature. I believe I have honeymoon suite pics there.

We had a courtyard view room, and as far as we could tell, the best viewing of the Electrical Water Pageant was from either of the platforms you can get to by going to the ... 3rd or 4th floor? ... at the back of the lobby area, overlooking the courtyard. They have chairs and tables out there and everything!

The Pageant usually gets to the Lodge at 9:35 as I recall.

Enjoy your stay!

(Don't forget to rub Humphrey's nose for good luck! He's the bear at the bottom of the totem pole by the Mercantile shop.)

We can't go see the Water Parade because with any luck, my kids will be sound asleep by then. Can you see it from any of the rooms? I didn't think we would be able to with a Woods View but maybe we could see alittle bit of Wishes if we get in the right room.

Thanks!
Jen

I think you're right. Woods view wouldn't be good for the water pageant, but you might get lucky and be able to view the MK fireworks. If you get a room in the north wing, and the trees aren't in the way, you'll be golden.

Someone must have a list of the best rooms for that, but I can't find it on Google.

Good luck!

The only rooms that will be able to see the electric water pagent are main pool courtyard and also deluxe rooms at the end of both the north and south wings because they face bay lake.

Who's stayin at WL in July?! We will be at the Villas!
My family will be at the WL July 22 - 28. Our first visit to the Lodge, and our first vacation without our oldest. At 20, he thinks he is 'too old' for Disney....It is going to be sad and fun all at the same time

I have only stayed at the WL in the past, but for our next trip it is out the question. Since our kids are older now (13, 9 and 6), in order to stay at the WL I would need a Deluxe Suite. Unfortunately, that is too much money for us.
We are thinking about Poly.
As a huge WL lover, will I be disappointed in Poly? Any of you stayed at both, how will it compare to WL?

I will miss my WL

Not only will you be dissapointed but it might be cost neutral to get a deluxe at WL than staying at a garden view at the Poly.

I also do not like the poly at all other than for dinner. With all of the buildings disconnected from the main ceremonial hall it really stinks when it rains and you need to go from building to building. Just my opinion.

I would also take Artist Point over any of the dining at the poly any day. :)

Ummm there is ONE good thing about the Poly...they now have a dole whip machine at the quick service restaraunt. Heh!

What about trying to stay in the Villas at WL?

I was leaning toward changing my reservation from CSR to WL until I read a post about the pool at WL being too small and the slide not as nice as CSR. Since we are going in Aug. we are planning on spending our days swimming and hanging out at the resort.

Can anyone describe their experiences with the WL pool, especially if you also stayed at CSR.

Thanks!

I would never stay at the Poly again. We found it to be too much walking with the buildings being separated like Majestic mentions. Plus when you first get there it's like a maze trying to navagate the buildings. It just didn't have a cozy feel like the WL. What time of year you go would also make a difference - I would never stay at the Poly except during the summer. Since we only go during Christmas time, the Poly would never make sense for us. The one time we stayed was during the Spring (and it was for a company trip so we didn't have a choice where to stay).

Only one thing I liked about the Poly over the WL...direct monorail service. We stayed at the building closest to the Transportation and Ticket Center (I can't remember the name), but it was less than a 2 minute walk from exiting the monorail to being in our room. That was great, but that was the only good thing.

Now if you just can't afford it, that's one thing. But if you were given the choice between the two, I'd pick WL 10 out of 10 times and twice on Sundays. :teeth:

Ransom hit it head on - you want inner courtyard to see the water parade. I don't know if any of the other floors have them, but the forth floor observation deck that looks straight out over the pool/lake would be perfect if you don't have a room with a view. We stayed in the room right next to it 2 years ago and the view was great. Get ready at 9:30.

We are huge WL fans too. We stayed at the GF last summer and were really frustrated with the distance between the buildings. Everything is so convenient at WL so we were spoiled. We went over to the Poly for breakfast and just walking around there we felt we would not be happy there either because of the distance between the buildings.

Can anyone tell me if the balconies have lights, or if you are out there in the evening will you be in the dark?

Thanks

We just left the lights on in the room and opened the curtain as much as required to give us the amount of light we wanted.

Thanks for all the warnings regarding the Poly.
Why oh why cant the WL let 5 of us stay in a room :sad1:

The only WL choice for us would be 2 rooms or a deluxe room. But the cost of a WL deluxe room would be $1400 more than a standard room at the Poly.

Another choice for us could be Beach Club ($200 less than Poly) or Animal Kingdom Deluxe Bunk Bed Room ($300 more than Poly, but $1000 less than WL)

The ONLY reason I was leaning towards Poly was because of the monorail. I really prefer staying in a "hotel" (like WL, AKL or BC) where all the rooms are in one main building. I feel more a part of the scene that way.

Darn kids-why did they have grow up!
