Can a certain room be requested when reservation are made or do they only let you do them at check in. We are checking in on a Sat. and leaving on Sat. I am thinking most people go Sunday to Sat.
Thank you
Tina

Making a request when reservations are made will better help you get the area you want. There are no guarantees to get a certain area so be flexible. If you have certain things you want, like punkinsmomma wanting a standard room that you can see MK fireworks from, we can give tips. Just be aware that MK views are hit and miss from the standards and woods view rooms because tree growth can make a good castle view one year a "can't see the castle for the trees" view the next. ;)

When we stayed at WL in February '06 we had a room on the first floor and requested turndown service. We got it almost every night (I think there was one night where we didn't) and it was great. They left chocolates and a little note card with an Indian proverb on it. Really cool, we saved all the cards!!!

Take the swim suits! There is a chance things will be comfortable enough to swim. It all depends on how warm you need it. The weather will definitely play a role in it but I'd rather be prepared than not. I know swimming has been ok in February on some days!

Awesome! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the help! I will definitely pack the swimsuits then! :)

I guess this is considered a two-part question, so I hope the Wilderness Lodge Vets can shed some light!

We have a woodsview roomed book 9/4-9/12..and I have recently decided that I really really want a courtyard room. I mean, if I don't get one, no big deal, but i'd really like to have one. So i called CRO before and the upgrade is available for $280 more. Hmmm, well I'm not so sure after just recently paying off the entire package I can afford that right now. So here are my questions:

1) I've heard a lot of people getting free upgrades at check in. Should I ask for it specifically when I get welcomed home? Should I be like "by the way, do you have any thing facing the courtyard?"

2) If i decide to upgrade after the 45 day mark, will I be charged a fee??

Thanks!!

Has anyone stayed woodsview with a lobby view? I feel like I need to request some kind of view. I think we would like the north side but can't decide between the lobby or otter pond view. What would the WL vets say on this one?

Anyone know if the main pool is zero-entry?
Also, there is a toddler pool, right? What is that like?
Thanks!!

This is a great thread that I really need to read more of! :) We just decided yesterday to upgrade to WL from POP Century. :yay: We've stayed at WL before back in Dec 2002 & LOVED it, even though we were only there for 2 nights. We had a woodsview room back then & loved our view, but this time we can only swing the Standard View Room.

It's just the two of us & we'll be there for 10 nights: Aug 26 - Sept 5 - any recommendations on what to request when we arrive for a "nice" view? Would a lobby room be best to avoid looking out at the service area & hearing trucks all day?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks so much!! :)

The main pool is NOT zero-entry. I believe the the shallowest part is 3 foot from what I remember. There is another pool for the little ones. I think it is one foot. From what I remember it is octagon shaped. HTH.

Yep....I'd just ask at check in.

As for upgrading after the 45 day mark, I'm not sure....I do know of people who upraded views at check in and just paid the difference. Of course, there would have to be courtyard rooms available to be able to do that.

Just got back yesterday, and have to say LOBBY!:thumbsup2 We were on the 4th floor (room 4090), and there is a fireplace up there with a central view of the lobby.... IT'S FANTASTIC.:thumbsup2

Isn't the lobby just breathtaking?!:cloud9:

We have had both lobby and north wing (MK fireworks) woods view rooms, and I've loved both of them. If I had to pick, I'd choose the lobby room because I just love walking outside my room and taking in that view. I know DD would pick the north wing view over that, but to each her own. The men in our family are flexible, they just want to make us women happy. Or at least keep us from complaining. :lmao:

Hey sewer!:wave2: That's what I was leaning toward. This will be our first stay at WL.:woohoo: I really think the boys will love the lobby view. Hope you trip was fantastic too!

I am considering booking a deluxe room for February. Can anyone tell me what to request in terms of a view/location. Is there a best location to request for these rooms? Can you see fireworks from any of the balconies? Also, where are these room types located in relation to the concierge lounge (which is on the 7th floor, right?!)

Thanks in advance. I have never stayed here, and I hope I can come to love the WL as much as everyone here does!

Hi Sewer!
I'm leaning between requestung a lobby or North Wing room. Did you have noise from WCC and the lobby in general into the evening?...with 2 little ones, we will be putting them to bed around 9 most nights. We have a courtyard bunk bed room booked. TIA!!!

You have some noise from WCC, but it's not at levels where the kids will have problems getting to sleep. I think they'll have more problems sleeping because they are at DISNEY WORLD!:rotfl:

Uhhh.....That's their Mommy's problem!!!:rotfl2: As much as I say we're going to head back to the resort for a mid-day rest, or to turn in early, I'M the one who is always antsy and can't wait to get back out there and experience the Disney Magic.:cloud9:

The Wilderness Lodge Great Hotels episode will be on Wed, July 25th at 11am (central time) Travel channel.
