...Well, since I handle finances, I figure even if we don’t get a discount we can swing WL. So, unbeknownst to him, I have changed our ressies from ASMu to WL.
Now, I don’t think I can keep this secret from him until we arrive, but I’m gonna do my best!!

....W-T-G.....and yes, it'll be very hard to keep it a secret.....

Isn't this just the best kind of secret to try and keep? I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut. I've tried before and failed miserably. For our 2003 Christmas trip to the WL I was going to try and get Cinderella's Breakfast but I knew the chances were slim. Got up bright and early on the first day I could start calling. Almost fainted when I got right through and got a ressie for a party of 7. I kept that little secret for the entire 3 minutes it took me to wake up DH.
I hope you are able to maintain your silence and that you have an amazing time!

Keeping my mouth shut will be easy - I just hope he doesn't look at the reservation papers or anything like that

No, not just because I'm going back to the WL, but also because I'm back on the DIS Resort Boards . After a 2 and 1/2 month break, I'm in full-throttle planning mode for a last-minute trip from 3/24 to 28! I got an AP rate for the first 3 nights at CSR, and then managed to squeeze in the last night at WL with an AP rate! Hey, maybe an AP Courtyard room was still available so close to the trip because of the pool work? Will I be seeing a bulldozer with my Courtyard room? Aw, if it's a Disney bulldozer I'll probably like it and take pics of it

HEY EVERYBODY! I just had a question and I knew that you guys could help me! I recently read that the bus going from WL to the MK has been taken away and now there's a bus from WL to the TTC. Why? I loved riding the bus on those hot days and when you want to get to MK quicker than the boat.

Does anyone know much about the handicapped rooms at the WL...I have a bunk bed courtyard view booked..My DH had an aortic dissection on Jan 27th and had emergency open heart surgery.. He then had to have his left leg cut open(Fasiotomy) on both sides..It will take months to heal as will his recovery.. We are going in August and may need some sort of handicapped accomodations.. Does anyone know about Courtyard view handicapped room locations/ammenities ?

The fourth post has lots of pictures from a handicap accessible room at WL. I don't think it is a courtyard room, but it will give you an idea of what the room looks like. Have a great trip!

Several months ago Disney had some construction going on over @ the Magic Kingdom at the bus stops. To help cut down on the congestion Disney transportation changed the direct bus from Wilderness Lodge back to the old route which in years pass only travel to the TTC. (After the Magic Kingdom closes at night, the direct bus reverts back to the route that goes to TTC)

All the work was completed before scheduled and the bus from Wilderness Lodge now goes to BUS STOP # 1 at the Magic Kingdom.

When we were there last month the bus went to the Magic Kingdom, but in some DVC papers we just received they said that was being taken away. I hope not. We rode the bus on the nights it was cold last month and would not have liked taking the boat then. Also the boat gets very crowded after the parade and fireworks, so another option is nice to have.

Thanks for posting this link. We've requested an accessible room for our Dec. trip and it was good to see some pictures. Plenty of room for me and my power chair!

The following is the blurb is from the most recent Vacation Magic Magazine that is issued quarterly for DVC Members, Spring 2007.
Around the neighbprhood:

Leaving the Lodge:
Disney Transportation bus service from Disney's Wilderness Lodge now goes to the Transportation and Ticket Center, rather than traveling directly to the Magic Kingdom Park. Boat service however, continues to be available to Disney's Wilderness Lodge Guest traveling to the Magic Kingdom Park.

I have checked with guest that are at the Wilderness Lodge now and they say the direct bus is still operating so I think this information posted in the magazine is old information, from when the bus was being rerouted due to the construction at Magic Kingdom, but time will tell.
