I also agree with Tara and singing mom. Because the boats from the s/d take you directly to Hollywood Studios and are the first drop off from the studios, I don't see any advantage walking to/from the studios (unless you really enjoy walking).

Now I did enjoy the walk to Epcot, and that is what we did most of the time. If the boats were directly to/from Epcot we may have taken them more, but in most cases walking is the faster route.

Both Epcot and HS are a fairly easy walk - I usually take the boat when I am exhausted at the end of the day.

Just returned and I will have to say our room at the Dolphin was FANTASTIC! The hotel was wonderful!

I love it when I see posts like this - it makes me even more excited for my honeymoon - we've only booked standard rooms, but I hope hope hope they will be lovely!

Keep the positive comments coming! :goodvibes

We always book a standard room and we have never been disappointed. We are Starwood members, but have never received an upgrade but we have been always very happy with the standard room. We have had rooms with and without a balcony but I must say the best room we ever had at the Dolphin had a balcony in the west wing overlooking the pool. I think you will be more than satisfied with a standard room.

Greetings. We are looking to stay at S/D for the fist time. I have a question (or three) about new reservations:
Is there an Annual Passholder or FL Resident discount for S/D?
If so, are the discount code numbers the same as for other resorts?
And if so, do you mention it to Starwood ressie agent same as a Dis CM?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. :)

There are AP rates for S/D. We have one for October. We simply asked for an AP rate for our dates--no code necessary as it is with Disney. :thumbsup2

Can someone please talk about what kinds of views and locations are possible with a standard view room at the Swan? Thanks...less than a month and I can't wait!

Thank you for this - that's really reassuring :goodvibes

A Hollywood Studios Friendship launch question— I've traveled the boats so many time but never paid much attention to the drop off order.
My question is: What order do the Friendship boats drop off on the RETURN leg of the HS trip?

Tess: Thanks for the info. I was able to secure a std. room. The AAA discount was the better price at this late date. I'm sure AP rates were sold out long ago, but I had to try.

I appreciate the wealth of info here. Thanks!

Coming back from the HS- the order is the Swan/Dolphin; either Yacht/Beach Clubs or Boardwalk, depending on the traffic at each and then finally Epcot.
Did you look at any of the specials Starwood is offering that might be less than the AAA?

hello all,
do you know if it possible to get microwave in the room at either one of these hotels?
We are considering booking the hotel but will be traveling with an infant, will need a microwave to heat up bottles and such.

also in the kin rooms do they have a sleeper sofa?

thanks in advance for your answers
