We just got back and wanted to step in and say how much we loved the Swan! :lovestruc

Loved the pool, the restaurants, the rooms, the close proximity of Epcot & HS. Got spoiled by the boats! Loved walking to BW and hanging out. We wanted for nothing there.

Absolutely LOVED every minute and we can't wait to go back.

Anyone getting ready to go: have a FABULOUS time! :wizard:
Welcome back, Mahnahmahnah. It is a great resort!!

Hi Dan! Did you have a good trip? We had a great time, it was more crowded than we expected. We usually go the last week in May and switched it up hoping to have lower crowds and it was about the same. We really missed staying in the Boardwalk area but he AKL was really nice.
Hi Mom. The trip was great, as always. I visited the low crowd park/s as indicated by both TGM and easywdw each day, thought the crowds were okay. Though moreso than last year, late April. It was HOT though. I was exhausted at times, LOL.

I am always happy driving into the S/D. :woohoo:

Hi Robin and Dan - glad you both had a great trip - my 20 school days til retirement trip is this Friday - can't wait!!!

There was a good question in a prior post, where do you place an order for the personal pantry thing:confused3

I usually print out the order form in that link and hand it in when I check in or I even call and fax it the night before I get there

Four (4) more days of Disney Day Dreaming till our S/D resort vacation is a reality!

So, I guess I'll be back to planning the next trip quite soon!!!

SEE YA SOON MIC!

We're still at the dolphin and loving it. We've been upgraded twice. :woohoo:

I paid for a standard double room. We checked in and they gave us a resort view room, on the 8th floor, where we had a nice view of the Tower of Terror and Hollywood Studios, plus the pool. It would have been a great location with kids because it was close to Picabu and the pool. Bathroom area was tiny, and the room was a little cramped..but still nice. Love the heavenly bed. The halls by that room were sort of musty smelling. I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't read recent reviews. My SO said it had a new car smell. It wasn't bad, just weird. It was also super humid, not sure if that was making it worse. It was the only area we noticed it in. This was the only room where we heard people in the hallways.

Well, we decided we wanted a king bed so we asked to be moved and they moved us....for free. The new room had a king bed, resort view (of the lake and the Swan, plus a tiny corner of the pool). It was on a lower floor, but it was also the end of the hall so we weren't by anybody.

Well, we got a call on the morning after our 2nd night and they told us we were moved by mistake because that floor was having fire alarm testing/replacing and we were the only ones there. So they upgraded us *again*, and gave us a free meal voucher for the hotel restaurants (not the signature ones, though. We're using it at Kimono's). Our new room is huuuuuuge! I'm not sure what type of room it is, but it has a resort view, a king bed, a couch, a large TV, two sinks, a mini kitchen. I can't get over how big the room is, we have 4 windows. I have pictures but haven't uploaded them yet.

Only thing I don't really love is Picabu. It's nice to have a quick service option 24/7 but it's not anything like the food courts at the disney resorts (the mods anyway). Staff is super friendly.

Will post pics later...

I always rent a car, Alamo or National. For a stay of 7010 days, it usually is about $160. Gets me to and from the airport on my time, enables me to take a day to USF/IoA if I am doing that, do DtD easily, as well as the resorts if I have reason to visit those, meals, touring, etc.

Was just skimming thru some of the older pages gathering some info and came across this post from Dan and had to repost it.

Don't think many people stay at the s/d for 7010 days. :scared1: But if you do, you might want to consider getting a house near WDW. :rotfl2: Really like the deal on the rental car though! :thumbsup2

I did the Travelocity deal so I called the Dolphin today just to make sure they have our reservation down, and they do. Whew! I didn't want to get there and have them say nope, don't see any reservation. I'll call them again about a week before I go just to make sure LOL.

I forgot to ask them about the EMH discrepance on Travelocity, but as long as they have me down for the Dolphin, I guess I have EMH. Whoo-hoo! Can't wait to go!

:lmao: I have rented a car to get myself to and from the airport on occasion, but I don't like paying for a rental car plus paying to park it.

Is it a corner room, possibly an alcove room??? Sounds wonderful. Have a great time. We just got back and I am ready to go back.... September isn't to far away! :goodvibes

So, how do you place the order? Do you just leave it in your room or bring it down to the front desk or what? Also, if I recall, on the form it just says: 6-pack of soda (or "individual cereal boxes") -- can you specify what you want?[/QUOTE]

Hi There! I did fill out a pantry slip at the front desk when we first checked in. The desk agent called room service I guess after I inquired what types of candy bars and sodas were available. If I am not mistaken, they were coke products as far as the sodas went and the candy bars I recall being 3 muskateers, snickers etc. So I just wrote on the form what I wanted from the choices they gave me.

I think I also placed my 2nd order at the desk as I was down there trying to extend my stay instead of transferring to one of the Disney hotels for the remainder of our stay - that's how much I loved our first trip to the Dolphin! I think you can also fill out a slip and leave it in your room and housekeeping will deliver it to the right department.

Nope, not a corner room. We're overlooking the walkway to the Swan. Here are pics of room #3, not bad for $129/night! Our 2nd room might have been an alcove room? It was in the corner and fairly large.

How about 7-10 days, Mike, LOL. :scared1:  My last stay was $103 for 8 days, 1 hour, full size car, which turned out to be a Dodge Grand Caravan.

Looks like a fabulous room, Belle.

That looks like the parlor room of a 3-room Executive suite. It should be connected to a room with two double beds on one side, and a room with a king bed on the other side.

Looks like an awesome suite you have!! I am so pumped to get there on Friday, whatever type room - it's just being there!!!! :thumbsup2

I don't know what it is but I love it  There's no connecting door to any other room. I was trying to figure out what type of room we had but none of the website descriptions really fit it.

Interesting that it doesn't connect, but it still looks like the parlor of a suite. :teeth: Enjoy it!

Gotta echo what everyone else has said...that's a great room! It looks like it might be the Premium Studio. Seems to fit the description below, with the exception of the "conference table for four".

Whatever it is, I like it. I much prefer the layout of this room to the Deluxe Alcove...love the wet bar and sofa area.

Almost twice the size of a Standard Guest Room, our Premium Studios located in the Dolphin provide comfortable bedding with extra space for the working professional or the vacationing family. The sitting area can be used for entertaining or converted into additional sleeping space.

Premium Studios feature all of the amenities found in our Standard Guest Rooms in addition to the following:

650 square foot room
Sleeper sofa
42” widescreen flat panel LCD TV with 30 channels of your favorite HD programming including Showtime® and ESPN®
Entertainment console
Conference table for four
Wet bar
Two lounge chairs
Desk and chair
Floor lamp
Walk-in closet

Yep, that's some nice pixie dust! Thanks for the live updates...hope the rest of your trip is equally magical. :wizard:

Hey Mom....We stayed in a corner room. Had two balcony's. One of the balcony's was in the rounded tower. Could see the Tower of Terror, Swan and Epcot from there. Is this called an aclove room? Room number 9087. We had booked a balcony but the receptionist was sweet. She gave us this one. Fireworks show every night from the balcony.
