How did you book the fp plus staying at swan?? It doesn't show up on my Disney experience!

The other poster had a qualifying stay onsite (YC) prior to his stay at the Swan. This gave him MB's and access to FP+. At this time, there is no way to add a Dolphin or Swan stay to MDE....

I am staying at Dolphin FIRST then POR. I guess if it was the other way around it would work! :-(

Well, the magic bands should arrive well before your stay. You may be able to link your ticket to the MDE; you may be able to make FP+ before your stay if it falls within whatever window they decide to open. Don't give up hope!

Oh my, this game just keeps changing, doesn't it?! January stay: (1) $2200 to stay at Beach Club garden view with 35% off RO discount and FP+ "guarantee" versus (2) $2200 to stay at Dolphin (with teacher rate/transfers/resort fees included) with probably no FP+ versus (3) start at BC and hope to be able to book FP+ after moving over to Dolphin? Such decisions based on the unknown. 3 months from tomorrow and totally undecided.

Thanks for your thoughts on BC. I probably will stay with that unless the teacher rate comes down drastically. 35% off room only at BC doesn't happen at other vacation times we might travel in the future, but I can always snag a Dolphin teacher rate. In addition, I will have enough SPG points for 3 free nights by January but if I save them for another trip and accumulate 4 nights worth, there's that extra free 5th night. Yes, BC does seem to make more sense for this trip. Thanks for helping convince me (I didn't expect to be convinced of BC on the Dolphin page of all places...but I will certainly be there next time!)

How comfy are the beds? After an 8 night trip in dvc studios- we are not at all interested in another sofa bed!

I usually stay at the Dolphin and I love it, but I usually stay for free on points so it's usually a no-brainer. However, for the same price, knowing you will get MB and FP+, I would choose BC.

They're called heavenly beds for a reason.:) I'm considering buying the mattresses in a couple of years when I'll have to get rid of mine.

Pluto People: We stayed in an Epcot view room at the Dolphin, and while I loved it, It do think that $100 upgrade is a little steep. I don't think under normal discounted circumstances, the Epcot view costs that much more. Also, that $600 could go a long way toward dining or other fun stuff. We did enjoy our view, but we weren't in the room except for one night to see Illuminations. We could hear the music from our room. Being that close to Epcot just makes being in the park for Illuminations too much of a temptation, so we were not in the room. You might be just as happy with a Boardwalk view. You can still see parts of Epcot from many of those rooms.

Hi folks! Can I have your opinion on the booking we have at the Dolphin? We have booked 6 FREE nights with points. We asked about an upgrade to an EPCOT view with balcony and were told it would be an extra (approximately) $100 per night. Does this seem really expensive? I know you can upgrade a free night booking with points but the hotel is sold out our first night. Any advice for us? Thanks!
Adding to previous post on room, keep in mind that the balconies are very small, very. Barely enough room for the small table and two chairs. I can;t imagine much sitting out on the balcony. I do have to say that in all my stays there that I have never noticed anyone sitting or standing out on a balcony. I am sure some must, just I have never noticed any.

Dan - I always sit on my balcony at the Dolphin! ;-)

I enjoy having a cup of tea on the balcony while waiting for DD and DH get ready. This past January we had a Boardwalk view and watched some of the marathon runners from the balcony!
