You dont have to buy the happy meal.. you can just buy the toy for $1.49 , I do it all the time- my dd prefers the salads, but I still buy her the toy if its one she wants

The toy alone price actually varies at different McD's. In one week, I stopped at 3, searching for the Cars, and one was charging $2.50, one was $1.99 and one was $1. I guess it depends on the manager? Just FYI!
