La Hacienda
We ended up eating at the "new" La Cantina twice, once on 9/19 and once on 9/23. We sat outside for our first meal and inside for our second meal.
The menu is certainly a step up from the former La Cantina. I thought that my entrees were a bit small for the price (we were on the DDP, but next time we'll be paying OOP), but the tacos were tasty! There was a small cup of pico de gallo with the taco entrees. I ended up putting that on the tacos so I used some of the salsa that is available for my chips. The salsa is pepper based. I liked the green, milder salsa better than the red, hotter salsa. Having some cheese sauce or more pico de gallo for extra chip dip would have been nice, but I understand that would be more expensive to provide, too.
My ds liked his nachos and they are a big improvement from the nachos that used to be served at La Cantina.
The lime raspberry margarita was pretty good, but I didn't care for the coffee margarita. I like coffee and frozen coffee drinks. I like margaritas. This one drink just didn't appeal to me.
We all enjoyed the churros! I'm not sure if churros regularly come with the kid's meal or not. There was some confusion about this. We used the DDP on our first time there and were given the churros. For the second time we ate there, I had to pay OOP for dd's meal because it was our last day and I was out of credits. They gave her grapes (which she didn't get the 1st time) as dessert and we were charged for the churros. Not a big deal, but I thought I'd mention it for those who are wondering what comes with the kid's meal.
All in all, we enjoyed our meals here. The food is decent and the atmosphere right on the water is fantastic!
