How wonderful! I hope you have a great first trip! :goodvibes

Wow - now THAT is a dream vacation!!!! I will be eager to hear all about it! Good luck with packing!

So, I haven't been over to the DCL forum recently - are they letting people ship boxes again? It sounds like they had put a stop to that - was that just misinformation? (Although I can only imagine how many boxes they must have been getting!)

WOW!! Now if that isnt the ultimate Disney trip I dont know what is.....:yay: But I am with you about packing..I would be a wreck thinking of packing. Guess you may have to do a little :laundy: ;)

They ARE letting you ship 1 box per stateroom - and it has to be the size of the box that you get when you get a case of paper from like Staples... it's NOT big... You cannot take hard coolers anymore and no food or drink in your luggage... must be carried on...

Everything has to be able to fit through the Xray scanners... The Port and the Coast Guard is getting tough I hear...

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

:laundy: :laundy: :laundy: :laundy: is DEFINATELY in my future... we're planning laundry parties on board... ordering room service and bringing drinks... and some of us (maybe not me cause I hear the bugs are really bad there...) may stay up the night before going through the Panama Canal or sleep on Deck 10...

Excited, but I have TONS to do... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

BUT...

It does all start off at the Grand!!!

Just an update... I am, believe it or not... 32 days away from leaving for what I've named... THE GRAND TOUR!!!

We are going to the GF for 4 nights then the 15 nights on the Disney Magic through the Panama Canal and then 5 more nights at the GRAND CALIFORNIAN at Disneyland!!!

Excited is still not here yet... I'm more worried about how I fit 24 days worth of everything into 2 large duffle bags and only 1 box that we are allowed to bring!!!

Hopefully I will have my laptop with me and will do a TR...

Oh.. and we have over 400 DISer's on this cruise!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Wow Michelle :woohoo: Have a wonderful trip, it sounds so exciting

Attention all GF experts. I have a GV room booked for 4 days in June. :yay: Can anyone suggest a good building to request? Thanks. :)

We had a lovely GV room in Boca Chica once

I think this question got lost in all my blubbering on the other thread and really should be here anyway so...

Back to a GF question. I have read people mentioning a favorite "building" and also people referring to specific room numbers they like in the main bldg or SL but I dont recall anyone saying a specific room number in one of the other outer bldgs like Sago, Conch etc - any reason :confused3 - or did I just miss this info? I am soooo obsessive about what room I hope to get when I go in Dec - and I know anywhere will be great - but still cant help wondering....

Anyone else?

After one really nice stay in Boca Chica about 7 years ago, I request it every time now when staying in a LV or GV room. But I don't think you can go wrong at the GF;)

We have stayed twice in Boca Chica and once in Sugar Loaf. I love Boca Chica because it is close to the quiet pool and we can go out the back door and sit on the grassy knoll and watch wishes! Ofcourse nothing like Sugar Loaf but if we are not there we stay at BC!!! Hope this helps everyone! :goodvibes

It's been my experience that there are so few undesirable rooms at the GF that exact room numbers aren't necessary there (unlike other resorts). There are a few coveted rooms in the Main Bldg. RPC that have castle views, so you're likely to see those room #'s quite a bit, but that's due to those views being left up to chance. Now that the Theme Park View is a bookable category in the outer lodges, there is less stress knowing what to request to get a castle view.

It seems like most here have a favorite lodge and/or general view (marina, courtyard pool, etc.), but there are many rooms with those varied views - you don't have to worry about requesting an exact room.

I obsess about room locations at a lot of other WDW resorts, but generally don't with the GF. In fact, I'm going to live dangerously and not put any requests on my May GV ressie - maybe I'll get upgraded. ;)

Thanks Tink-

I think you got it! Guess its ALLLL good:cool1:

Think I will leave it to chance too - and see what happens - upgrade sure would be nice - hope it happens for you!:wizard:

Right now we are planning to stay 12/4 at POP since we get in late, then go over to GF nice and early on the 5th. Thinking if we start early in day, we will have more options and be able to check out and change if needed.
Thanks

What view did you book?? There are a couple rooms that have the two balconies and a bit more space. THey are Theme Park or Lagoon View rooms....I always forget which! :sad2: SOS somebody here knows for sure, but anyway, if I booked one of those views, I'd sure request one of those rooms. :thumbsup2

Otherwise, just steer clear of the backside of Sago. I think almost all the courtyard views are pretty for GV.

PS...MICHELLE - Have a ball!! Sounds like a fabulous trip!!!!

I don't know the details of the ressies yet -:confused3 - Its a bit tricky - My sis is getting the trip thru work - cant go into particulars yet :rolleyes1 - but as soon as I know specifics I will post.
Thanks

Super - then maybe somebody will have a great room number to share here with you - or even privately share. ;) I wrote down the one I'd want if I booked a certain view, lol - but I forgot what view that is (either TP or L- I have the room number ready though!! My bad.:sad2:

Theme Park. :goodvibes I always have to catch myself and correct it - I usually automatically type MK, but now it's "Theme Park".

:)
