Hmmm... Maybe it is just a main building thing. :confused3 Ours was definitely metal with the disney baby bumper and sheets. The first night we were at Pop and we had a pack and play - we much preferred the metal that we were able to wipe down. I thought I had a picture, but it must still be on my sisters camera (it was in her room)...

Whomever was looking for the Giselle dress - they are selling it on Disneyshopping.com.
It's $150. Just thought I'd let that person know. :santa:

Ya, strange about the cribs but who knows. At least it's better than a pack and play. :thumbsup2 We would bring our own because we used to drive, but it didn't look too comfy to sleep in!! What building were you in? I have a question.....did you have a DVD player in your room??

I had a friend that flew out about 4 am and left the GF at that time and she saw all the decorations going up, too. That would be really neat to see. How did you know that they wre doing that that night?!?! We were so shocked when we went to catch an AK bus on Tuesday morning and WOW!!! That was really cool how they did that overnight - and all the poinsettias planted too!!!! Very neat. I bet it was interesting to see.:)

Isn't that ridiculous??!! I think Disney quality is crappy, too. I got sucked in and bought the stupid $80 Disney Xmas cardigan sweater....wore it once - to the 11/25 party and guess what? Half the beads have fallen off. I have these straggly red threads hanging where there used to be beads. Dummy me....I know better, but at Disney reality flies out teh window. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the quick crib responses.

I'm sure the wood cribs are exclusive to the main building. They like to make one club level more superior than the other and they should since your paying more. I'm fine with a metal crib as long as it has bumpers. Can I ask about the bedding? Aside from the fitted sheet and bumpers, did it come with a blanket? I usually pack my own since the pack n plays only come with sheets. I prefer to use my own pack n play sheets, but this time they had cute clean mickey sheets that we used.

The only thing about the pack n plays that I dislike is how low to the ground they are. We had not much floor space at the CBR (last minute trip and last stay at a moderate, DH was NOT happy). We had to put the pack n play in a corner next to the bed and entrance door. I was so nervous all night about drafts from the door and window that I draped an extra sheet over our double stroller to block the pack n play.

I'm happy that my little guy gets to enjoy the luxury of the GF as much as we will in his traditional (wood or metal) crib!

Regarding Sugar Loaf views, I don't really care as long as I'm not looking at the parking lot!:) Do all the rooms have balconies? My DH loves to have a balcony. Plus it would be nice this time to come back to the room early get some evening refreshments, put the kids to bed and relax on the balcony.

Oh one more thing, where can I find a bunch of birthday cake photos? We'll be celebrating my birthday and I want to give DH plenty of info and idea what to "surprise" me with :)

:rotfl: :rotfl: OMG that's mean!!! Poor Mary P. She'd be put on the spot for sure!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

That's what I get for having a niece who HAD to watch MP every time she came to visit...

I also know the words to the Muppet Movie, but that involved alot of beer and partying when I was in my 20's to learn that... ;)

Oh and I love the Marina side... stayed both... Marina can be more quiet - I got stuck with a tree in the way for my pool view... but I do LOVE the dormer rooms... it's just me and my mom so we fit in there well...

I agree it is ridiculous. That is a lot of money for a disney costume. Especially since kids grow so fast. And you're right - the quality of their clothing is not very good. But like you said Disney does somehow make people buy things against their better judgement :confused3 And I am one of them
But my DD is NOT getting that dress ;)

The crib seemed way better than the pack and play! It was the first time we were traveling with little ones (my nieces), so we weren't sure of what we were going to get. The older of the two slept in the pack and play at pop, but it was so late and she was sooo tired after the long day of travel, she just crashed - she didn't seem to care too much about comfort! She ended up sleeping in the 'big girl bed' at the GF.

We were in Conch Key - our first time in that building. We didn't have a DVD player - did you?

I asked at the desk when we checked in when they would be doing the decorating (we go at this time of year for the decorations) - I was warned that unless I was a true night owl I wouldn't see anything go up. The night the decorations went up I just happened to roll over and look at the clock at 3:45 so I got up and went to the main bldg to see if they were still working - they had the tree half put together (they use a big hoist type thing and add branches one at a time - I think the top goes on in one piece) and they were still placing smaller trees, hanging garland and wreaths and decorating the stores. It was very cool. My pictures aren't that great because I turned off the flash - I didn't want to be too distracting!

I actually saw you a couple of times when we were down there! Kind of funny to see someone that you 'know' from a message board (I'm a long time lurker, 4th time poster!) :santa:

Ebay has one - it's $64 - wait until after Xmas... they'll have LOTS and they will be cheap(er)

The crib came only with the bumper and fitted sheet (in the cute baby mickey pattern). A word of warning - there isn't too much room to place the crib with the current room configuration. The chair had to be moved a bit to the side to fit the crib in by the bed (we were in a 'normal' garden view (really marina view) room).

You mention the quiet of the Marina side? I was walking back from Gaspies and could have sworn that I heard the Wearwolf cry from behind the Haunted Mansion. I thought, to myself that could not be possible. DS10 confirmed it though a couple seconds later by saying "Do you hear the wolf?"

I also came across these pictures from the morning that they finished the Gingerbread House this year. It was 7:15 am so I was kinda surprised to see these special guests in the Lobby of the GF so I apologize in advance for the quality. The first picture is Mickey and Goofy just getting done playing piano.

Floridian that is wild that you saw me.....OMG> :rotfl: I had a lady come up to me in the lounge and ask if I was ME.....it felt very weird. I had no clue who she was and thought DO I KNOW YOU??? AM I SUPPOSED TO???

that is so neat about you getting to see the decorating. I guess it was meant to be that you get to see it since you woke up at just the right time!! I don't think I could have dragged my butt out of bed though. Good for you!!!!:thumbsup2 The overnight decorating was amazing.

I was wondering about the DVD player because we did have one and it looks like there is a space in the furniture specifically to place one but I heard that some rooms had it and some did not. :confused3 :confused3 (like the wallpaper I guess:rolleyes: ) It was nice to have. Usually we just have our laptop or portable DVD players and that's fine, but I was curious.

Goofygal, I think all but the top floor tower room have balconies. There is a cake thread over on the restaurant board with tons of great pictures of cakes.

MickeyMaz - those pics are NEAT!!!! Wow!! I wonder what the heck Mickey and Goofy were doing hanging out in the lobby at that time of day??!! They are so cute in those outfits, too.

We were at WDW from 11/17 to 11/25 and stayed at the Sugar Loaf. There was a total of 9 of us in 2 rooms. We had a wonderful time! There was a little mixup at first. Since there were 9 of us and 2 rooms that meant 4 in one room and 5 in the other, however neither room had a daybed in it to accomodate 5 people. At first they were going to have us stay the first night in the room with a 50% discount for the inconvenience and then have us move the next day to another room (who knows where-possibly farther away from the rest of our party-which included my twin 11yodd's). However, when we asked what time we had to be out of our room and when we would be able to get into our "new room" the answer was out of old room by 11 am and in new room after 3 pm (which technically meant we would be roomless for 4 hours). Well, that wouldn't have worked because that morning we would be getting an early start because 5yodd had an 8:10am BBB appointment and then we had a 3 pm Grand Floridian shoot to get ready for. Sooooo, anyhoo, we ended up just staying where we were and had a rollaway bed brought in for MIL (she loved her little corner!).

We really loved staying at the Sugar Loaf. It had all the same food offerings as the RPC but without the hustle and bustle of the main building. It's not too far to walk to get to the monorail and bus stops (and Gaspie's).

I discovered that to do laundry it is much closer to go to the Conch Key building than it is to go to the main building. My SIL said that there is only 1 washer and 1 dryer in the main building and there are 2 of each in the Conch Key building. It is just a hop, skip and jump away from the Sugar Loaf building.

Anyway, thought I'd share...

I was looking for the Giselle dress. Luckily one came in that they set aside for me at our local Disney store - $49.50 (less 20% Disney visa coupon). Thank goodness because I was desperate and probably would have bought the $150 dress - I'm sure DH will be thrilled that the Disney store one came in!

Thanks. I just needed to know so I can plan to pack two blankets, one for his crib and one for the stroller.

I usually ask housekeepping to remove furniture if it's really a tight fit. I removed so much furniture once on a cruise when my oldest was 6 months old. I had them remove the coffee table, two side chairs and a side table!:) You need room for the crib, stroller, and a little floor space for them to crawl is always nice.

I can't believe there's only 1 or 2 washer and dryers per building. At the CR there was a whole laundry room about 6 machines of each. This of course is going back 6 years so I'm not sure if it's still the same. But you would expect more machines.

Here's another idea for you. In Sugar Loaf you can request a lodge tower style room thru IPO. This is the turret room with the 2 queen beds and extra seating area with a second TV & sofa etc. We had this type of room when we stayed SL. We had the top floor which doesn't have a balcony, though. Didn't miss it because it was a cold February.....it was nice with the high ceiling.

Lives4Disney :)
I had no idea you can do that, so it's something we will think of maybe requesting.
