Hi Everyone!

Wanted to stop in this evening and wish everyone a

Very Merry Christmas!!!

You are all wonderful, and thank you for all the tips, pictures, info etc etc...

ENJOY!

Best,

I thought I let you all know my family and I switched our August reservation from Sugar Loaf at the Grand Floridian, to the Atrium Club at the Contemporary from the 18 - 30. I just wanted to say this move had nothing to do with the Grand Floridian, we just realized that we missed the Contemporary so it's a personal choice.

Woo hoo! Only 17 days! I have a few questions for my fellow DISers!

We booked through a travel agent..I'm a bit nervous having done this cause so much of our vacation plans lay in the hands of someone else. (We've always booked directly ourselves in the past).

Now, we requested a park view. But how do I make sure we get something decent? Do I need to request something in advance (certain floor, or wing) and is 17 days enough time to do it in?

Thanks very much in advance. :thumbsup2

Hi, just to clarify....."theme park view" is a category that can be booked and you are guaranteed that view - it costs more than garden view or lagoon view. It sounds like you requested a theme park view, but if you didn't book and pay for theme park view you will get what you booked unless you get REALLY lucky and get an upgrade.

Rooms are assigned either 5/6 days out or at check in. You can still request building, floor, etc. or you can wait until check in and see where they have you and make any changes with the front desk CM.

Enjoy the GF - it is wonderful.:wizard:

I hope everyone had a great Holiday! I am going to be going back thru the past weeks and adding pages numbers and links to the beginning of the thread. Can anyone think if anything that needs to be added up there then let me know.

Hey...

Hope everyone is well...

Tell me did I mess up bad... We rescheduled our canx'd XMas trip for 2/1 and because I am kinda obsessive I just checked the resv site and there are no rooms at the inn or anywhere it looks like... then I saw a thread about it being dance competition week or something...

URGHHH... I was hoping it would be some what quiet and before break time etc etc...

Ok.. Let me know what I have gotten myself in for...

Hey, Never! I think that is a GREAT time to go!! We used to (before kids hit high school and Jr. high schl age) ALWAYS got the end of Jan into Feb and had the most perfect BEST times at WDW. I bet anybody there for the competition will be busy with it and not so much in the parks. I wish we could still go in Jan/Feb. We didn't swim, but we were in the parks ALL day having a blast.

Boy! 2/1 will come up fast. I am glad you wound up rebooking your trip. Make those ADRs. That is often how I can tell how busy it will be - if I can get into my favorites with no hassles.

Enjoy!!!:goodvibes

Thank you for answering my previous questions regarding room views. I just have one more question. Only two weeks now until we leave!

How does the luggage service for the GF work? I hear they pick up your luggage at the airport and bring it to your room for you? Can someone please explain this?

Thanks in advance I really appreciate it!

Are you talking about Disney's Magical Express?????
It sounds like you are....you need to make a reservation for that ASAP if you plan to use them. Honestly I have never had the desire to so I am not very informed. We always use a limo service or on occasion rent a car.

I would contact your TA right away regarding ME if that is what you plan to use as your transportation to the GF. I am no expert AT ALL on ME but I believe you should have paperwork and luggage tags etc (just from what I have read/picked up on the boards) and this needs to be prearranged....but maybe not.:confused3 I would contact your TA pronto. Not to be rude, but it sounds like maybe this TA isn't a Disney expert?? Maybe post a question regarding ME on the Transportation board. Or get a limo.

Good luck!!!! It will be ok - You have a few weeks left to get it straight.

That is actually perfect timing. :) In fact, I would go ahead and book! Disney vacations are having to be planned earlier & earlier these days to get the resort & ADRs you want. We will hopefully be there in Jan. '09 (though maybe not at the Grand :(), but I am hoping to participate in the 2009 Half Marathon in January.

My DH wants to do that too!!! It is his goal at the moment!!:) Maybe I will get to be there, too. (wishful thinking;) ) Lots of guys he works with are going down to run the whole one in a couple weeks.

I wish it was still easy to book a trip 6 wks out. I miss those good old days.

Happy planning, Brian and Heatherlynn.

Neversaynever, I don't think you've chosen a bad time at all! My sister and I were there this past Feb., the first week, and it was not crowded.
