We know what you mean by cold and snow. Although we're up here in Canada (Prince Edward Island to be exact)..we've been having much warmer winters...until this year. We still have a tonne of snow and its freezing. Can't wait for summer and then Disney in Dec 2008!!!

oh, I really hope its not too bad...we are fortunate, in the SW...we received a "dusting' here! I cannot believe this weather!

On a much more somber note....lol.. I am such a lurker here on this thread....have been wanting to go back to GF..DH will probably always want to stay DVC (not looking for sympathy...lol) so I am doing a solo trip in Sept for f & W...jsut found out i have a 40% code...and GF is not available for my nights

I feel your pain about the DVC thing. I love it but I miss the monorail resorts. I am splurging this next time and staying at the GF!! What the heck..you only live once!!

Kristan- What is up with all the snow? I am three hours south and it is 50 degrees here.

I didnt ask...not for june i know that! i was so excited...so i am not sure what i will do now for those 2 nights in Sept..the last day in Sept was the 27..so it works for me, i just need the 26th and the 27th before i move to VWL...

Hope you all are doing well, we are flooded down here...we have 2 ft of water in our basement... not good.

I am looking forward to a nice vacation. We have disater areas in counties on each side of us.

I will absolutely come back and tell you what we got, that time can not come soon enough!

I tried to switch my ressie to SL concierge because I need help organizing a few thigns for the room, but my "code" is sold out for SL for my dates.

SO...who else at the hotel can or might help me throw a few surprises (courtesy of my visa card!) at the family? Is there a general concierge to help with this kind of stuff (gift IN room, cake, maybe balloons, pre-signed card from MM to the baby for her b-day?) That kind of thing?

I know non concierge rooms are not assigned until we get there, so I was thinking maybe that afternoon while we're at the park someone could be ready to sneak in and help me surprise the kids. It is not huge stuff I want one, but I am not sure if there is anyone I can talk to ahead of time or not.

Any thoughts?

Private Dining at the GF could definitely set you up with a cake, and likely also the balloons and a card (phone # should be towards the beginning of this thread).

I'm not sure if you could definitely count on the resort setting up some sort of gift in your room. There is the lobby concierge, but I think they focus more on park tickets, ADR's, etc.

If you want a gift, I would probably go through Disney Florist or one of the other ladies that make custom baskets. In most cases, the GF staff would deliver these to your room while you're out. Websites are www.disneyflorist.com; www.peggyssweetsandmore.com; www.memoriesbybetsy.com.
