oOOoops! ;) Hey, BrianD it was all very tongue in cheek - didn't mean any offense if I did offend ya. But....see all along I was "talking" to my female GF Dis buddies and along comes a man!!! Unpredictable, for sure, LOL!! :teeth:

Take care,

Lives4Disney :sunny:

No offense taken at all! :goodvibes I was just playing around. :joker: There are some of us male GF fans. (including the originator of this thread) I love the resort even more than my wife!

Channing, I peeked here just see see if you had posted an update. I am happy to hear Miss Judy got you all taken care of! Now go and have a fun trip!

p.s. I love taking my babies to Disney World. They are still very young, but we truly cherish these moments. I look forward to the day when they are your daughter's age and can really *believe* and appreciate the magic! :goodvibes

Allison, we haven't had a corner room but I am certain that not all corner rooms have a second balcony regardless of floor. Perhaps it is only the ones with a corner near the lagoon?

Sounds like a research project for someone who will be there soon or someone with good pictures! :sunny:

Can we request to 'not' be in a dormer room? Is that possible. I don't like those enclosed balconies!

I have thrown this question out in several places on the DIS and can't seem to get an answer so I will throw it out to the GF experts. Can you get a AAA discount if you book a suite? When I called CRO today the agent was not sure of the answer and different prices kept coming up -- he was getting confused. Thanks for your help.

I am almost positive (like 99% sure) that suites at any of the WDW hotels are never discounted. I am not sure about those new family suites at the value resorts, though. But no AP rates on suites - I know that, so I would bet no AAA rates on suites, either.

Sorry!

Allison -- I am not a GF expert, but I can tell you we were lucky enough to get a corner room on the first floor of Conch Key and we did have two patios. I'm not sure what other buildings have them.

Lollipop's mom -- you can put in a request for a non-dormer room, but it is only a request. I was very disappointed on our Christmas trip, as it's the first time out of 7 stays that we have been put in one and couldn't change. They are quite a bit smaller then the other rooms, and it makes a big difference when you have four in a room, with two very active boys.

Hi all!
I haven't posted since we got back 2 weeks ago with the kids camps, relatives visiting, etc!
Just wanted to let you all know that we had a fabulous stay at RPC! Had a gorgeous castle view room that connected with my parents! We were on the 4th floor this time and loved it! The concierge staff was wonderful and helped us out with 2 cakes , some ADR's,etc. The food offerings were great as usual and the lounge wasn't very crowded. We decided the pool cabana wasn't for us since we could get drinks at the lounge before we came down and my kids like to be in the pool the whole time! It definitely wasn't big enough for more than 4 people, also. We rented water sprites this time and the kids loved it! We spent a lot of time in the lounge just relaxing and listening to the orchestra and piano. My kids and mom and dad went down to the 3rd floor to play checkers and chess everyday. Also, the weather was gorgeous the entire week! I'm glad to answer any questions if anyone has any!

For those of you that have upcoming trips - have a wonderful time! :sunny:

Do Garden View Rooms have balconies? :confused3

I think all of the rooms at the GF have balconies.... :wizard: Except for a select few, like some of the turret Honeymoon rooms...

Absolutely, and the CMs there are GREAT!

I'm not Princessrule but the water sprites are the little boats that you can rent. They are tons of fun as you can go all over Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake with them. :sunny:

The water sprites ( I think they are still called that) are the two seater boats that you can rent at the marina at the GF. My kids are 8 and 11 and they loved having their dad drive them around Seven Seas Lagoon! They wear life jackets and have a safety briefing beforehand. They are regular boats just smaller! I don't know if there is an age requirement. My DH had to give his driver's license to drive them.

We actually rented one last year and we took turns driving the kiddos! I didn't realize they were called watersprites! Thanks :)

I am so glad you had a wonderful time!! I have goosebumps from reading your report. I am sooooo excited - we leave for WDW next Monday! My mom took my girls out for the day so I am SUPPOSED to be doing laundry and kind of getting ready, but I had to peek at the DIS boards, LOL. I just cannot wait.

What were your cakes like?? I kind of agree about the cabana. I had to be in the water with my girls, anyway, so didn't get to enjoy it much. My husband liked it and we are doing it again for one afternoon. Is there a fan in the cabana???? Thought there was - just checking. Was there internet access??There wasn't when we rented it in March, but maybe that's changed?

Thanks for the review! If you have time, post more details.....it will give all of us GF fans more to look forward to. :goodvibes

I know that the Pirate Adventure has been discussed more than I am able to find. But I am having some difficulty with the search function, so please bear with me.
WE are planning our first trip to GF (our 5th to Disney). I was all set to release the apron strings a bit to sign our DD (7) up for the GRAND Adventures in Cooking. But now, she has caught wind of the Pirate Adventure, and wants to do that. Let me preface my questions, with the confession that I am on the overprotective side (some may call me a bit neurotic :confused3 and maybe they are right, but hey, at least I admit it!).

I have read about the experience and it does sound like a lot of fun. Even though I know that the Disney staff is great, I am a bit worried about her safety. For those of you, who have children who have done this, can you describe it more than the standard disney copy?
Do they wear life jackets?
Is it a different boat or the same as the ones they use for transport?
When they get to the other resorts are they traveling through the resorts or just dockside?
How many children are typically in it?
Do you know how many CMs there were?
I wouldn't be quite so concerned if she had a friend to go with, but since she will be experiencing it alone...
You are such a wealth of information. I have learned so much from this thread already. Thank you for your help.
Danielle

OK, looking for pixie dust and crossed fingers.....last night I had to move our vacation dates from 7/18-7/23 TO 7/21-7/26!!!!
Well, we got lucky as there was a room in RPC available for the dates (HOORAY!!) The problem is that now all of my ADR's that I made need to be changed!! I just sent an email to IPO, gave them the scoop, the dates, and the restaurants of interest (including V&A, which I already HAD a ressie to for my birthday dinner :sad2: ) and asked them to go to town, so to speak, and find me dinner ressies.......I wished them luck. Boy, I'll tell you, if they come through for me on this, I would be forever grateful..... popcorn:: waiting to see what happens!!!
