Does anyone know if the IPO office closes for the weekend. I sent them an email on Friday morning and have not heard back from them. So I was wondering if they didn't have hours on the weekend.

Thanks,
Lyn

Lyn, I have you beat.....I emailed them THURSDAY early afternoon and have yet to hear from them. :confused3

I miss Tyler. He was always super prompt and helpful. Now I feel like I am going it alone and floundering. I was thinking they didn't get my email. If you're experiencing a delay, at least I know I'm not alone. ;) I was thinking about resending my orginal email as maybe they didn't even get it. I addressed it to a particular person, so then I thought maybe he is out of the office. Don't know what to think. It has never taken this long for a response, so who knows what's up.

Good luck! Let me know if you hear from them - I will let you know, too. I am almost positive they have weekend hours.

I too e-mailed GF IPO on Friday and have not heard back from them yet. I thought maybe it was just me...

You must have read my mind. I resent my original email from Friday again yesterday. If I don't hear from them soon I will call them. :thumbsup2

I just resent mine. It's Monday afternoon here. :confused3 Don't know what's up. Unfortunately it doesn't give a good impression, does it?? :guilty:

I'm pretty sure that Tyler has mentioned in the past, that IPO does work weekends. My guess is volume. I think the dates for this weekend would put all those guests arriving for Christmas at their 180 day window. I'm sure they were inundated with messages. I'm also sure that they've handled the requests, but just haven't had time to follow up with everyone.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, also. I can imagine that this 180 day window really added a ton to their work. :guilty:

I did hear from an IPO CM after I resent my email. I responded so I will see how long that takes, LOL.

Have you heard anything, Lyn or Irisbud???

Hi guys,

I am paying attention to this conversation about waiting for the IPO to reply, its like a soap opera "Wheres Tyler? Will Tyler call? Will my ADR's be made on time? Tune in next time on.... As The DIS Turns :rotfl2:

Anyway, I am about to kindly email them as well, as my trip to RPC is 29 little days away and we are checking in late at night. I want to know if I could order something special to be waiting in the room for my Prince Charming and me, like Champagne or something....would they do that for me?

thank you!! :goodvibes

They can do that. They will need your credit card info, so you may want to phone with that. The number is 407 824-1775. Good luck, LOL!!!

Actually, you might want to double check on this. I seem to remember something about not delivering alcohol to the room unless someone was there to receive it. Also, you can talk to private dining directly and see what else they offer. Just call the resorts main number and ask for that department. They usually only require a 24-48 hour notice for specialty items. I've found talking to them directly, they are a little more creative.

Tammi - that sure makes sense regarding the alcohol. Just another question for you since you are talking "creative"......I am having difficulty getting a bday cake ordered at the GF thru IPO. Are these private dining folks the ones that handle cakes? I would like something creative and fun, not just roses - something Disney :) . Maybe a call over there would be the way to go. Do you have their number?? Maybe it's on this mega thread somewhere, LOL.

Thanks - you are always in the know ;) ,

Just wanted to confirm that IPOs do work over the weekend as I've had emails from them....I think I even had one on Christmas Day!

But anyway, I remember Tyler recently posting on either this thread or the concierge thread that emails were arriving late for some reason. It took him a day to receive one he sent himself! That kind of delay plus the Christmas rush could help explain things a bit. :sunny:

No, nothing yet Lives4Disney. but if I don't hear anything in the nest day or so I will just resend. I didn't really have anything important, just a couple of questions for them. I think that, since we're doing a split stay (BF thought AKL looked nice, so I booked it for all four nights about three months ago, then I decided about a week ago I HAD to have at least two of our nights at GF :rolleyes1 ) I will just stick with Don (who is wonderful) at AKL for doing ADRs that don't have anything to do with GF.

Done rambling now, but SO happy to be going back to GF. I was going to stop by and visit if we weren't staying. BF heard it was the "snob" hotel :sad2: and is not thrilled, but I know he will love it when we get there

Glad to help with the check in question. Have a great trip!

You know, it doesn't surprise me. When I asked about champagne and strawberries, they told me to call private dining myself and make the arrangements. Not exactly the response I was expecting. For you, because you want a specialty cake, I'd suggest talking with the bakery department instead. If you call the main resort number, 407-824-3000, ask for 1900 Park Fair and then the bakery department. I'm sure the direct phone number is here somewhere and if I can get the search feature to work, I'll try and find it for you. They'll be happy to work with you on a special design.

EDITED TO ADD: Found it, 407-824-2982

Tammi - Thanks so much for the number. I will give them a call today & see what I can order. :thumbsup2 It is just that IPO seems super busy at this time, too, and can't really devote time to helping me with this little issue and a couple other details. I did get a response yesterday, to which I replied - but of course have not heard back yet. I better make sure that two cakes aren't ordered, LOL.

I appreciate you finding that number.

Hope you hear something SOON!! Tell your BF it is not the snob hotel!! :goodvibes It is the BEST hotel, LOL, but nothing snobby about it. ;) I have stayed in almost all the WDW deluxes and actually the CMs are much nicer and friendlier at the GF than anywhere else. He will change his mind once he stays there, I am sure.

Hope it's a great trip. Boy, that Don from AK IPO must really be something...I have read a lot of good things about him lately on the DIS.

Well I heard back from IPO last night. Unfortunately they are telling me that there is only one cabana for rent and that my friends should rent for the afternoon time. I replied and told her that I thought that they recently opened a second one and that I saw a picture showing both and I would like them to double check. :confused3

I haven't heard anything back but I did get an out office response from the person who emailed me so I guess I will have to send another email to the general email for IPO.

Thanks for the info on the champagne...no big deal if I have to bring my own, but I dont want to have to pack chocolate covered strawberries if they can supply them for me....... ;)

They can send them to the room for you, but you have to be in the room when they come. I was told by the Private Dining CM that they do this just in case you do not get THAT room when you check in... (you never know when you might get an upgrade, or have your room moved at the last minute... )

Just call them and make an order before you leave, then call them again when you get in the room. They will bring it right up....

I am having a special cake brought to the room on arrival in July, so I spoke with PD yesterday regarding this....

Hope this helps... :wave2:
