Cinderella Fan, or anyone else really, how was the transportation to AK and MGM? I am contimplating not renting a car this time but my kids do love MGM and with Dan Zanes there a few days I am sure I will be going there a lot. Do they still share a bus with Poly and CR?

Okay - I was a little concerned about staying in the GV rooms. I had never stayed at the GF without CL (though I wasn't a big fan of SL  ).

So, here it goes. The room was not renovated. It was the yellow/blue theme, but we did get the room we requested, #5431. When we arrived, we were greeted by a picture from Minnie and Mickey, a rose, bottle of champagne, and a white chocolate Mickey with white chocolate strawberries. :wizard: They were all wonderful! :goodvibes

Here are pics of our room -

Cinderella Fan Thanks for the pics and review - I'm glad you were able to get the same room 5431 we stayed in last November. :thumbsup2 The room looks exactly the way we left it...:lmao:

Lives4 is right on with the size of the dormer rooms - I believe they are 3 feet shorter, but IMHO the ceiling height and lack of footsteps from above make up for the shorter length.

It took us a few days to discover the shortcut to the bus stop on our last trip.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what building(s) they will be working on at the end of November prior to requesting a specific room, but if Sago is still "quiet" I would not mind staying in that room with the Marina view. :wizard:

They do, but we didn't go to those resorts. We always headed right to the parks. We never waited more than about 5 minutes for a bus. It wasn't bad at all. We never rent a car while we are there, I think it is a waste of money. But, that is just me... :thumbsup2

No, THANK YOU for the room #!!!! I couldn't believe we got the room we requested. I can't thank you enough!! It was a really nice room!

Does anyone know which buildings are formerly non smoking bldgs? I know which bldg to ask for at Poly thanks to Tikiman, but don't know at GF and don't want to end up in a room with lingering smoke smell. TIA.

So you were last on, first off? If that is the case, I really dont need to rent a car!!

I know Big Pine used to be a smoking building. I thought that was the only one....maybe I am wrong & there were others, though.

Angela....thanks for the great GV info. Ya, I was just joking about the FREE;) ;) pastries. :goodvibes When I made our reservation I did request Sago, but really any of the buildings seems like it would be great. I really like the view Boca Chica would have of the courtyard. We check in LATE on a Friday nt, so we will get any left overs I suppose. :rolleyes1

I sent an email to GF to ask a few questions, they still have not responded, so I thought maybe someone else could help me. If food service starts at 7am RPC, and EMH also starts at 7am, is Gasparills's open early enough, or do they maybe have something small with coffee at 6:30? Do the standard rooms with 2 queens also have a sofa bed? I plan on packing with some spacesaver bags, will I be able to get access to a vacuum with a hose to pack to come home? My family thinks I am a bit of an overplanner, I call it being prepared.

Well, I can only answer a couple questions as we are NOT early risers on vacation.....Gaspies is open 24 hours. The RPC lounge probably has coffee early - before the bfast offerings are out....actually they have a nice machine & to go cups and lids and you can help yourself anytime I think. Again - I am not a coffee drinker, really - so not sure. The lounge ladies are super sweet about helping guests with anything they need, so if they are around setting up I am sure they would let you have coffee.

The standard RPC rooms do have 2 queens & a sofa bed.

No clue about access to a vacuum....housekeeping has them, so I don't see why not. ;)

Anything you need, just ask the wonderful RPC concierge CMs. They are the best and RPC is fabulous. Enjoy!! :wizard:

Just returned from RPC and the coffee service in the lounge starts @ 6:30 am. Food is out at 7:00 am. They are quite prompt with their hours. I am an early riser and for 9 mornings never saw any food out between 6:30 and 7:00.

They clean the big coffee machine and disable it every night 15 minutes before 10:00. For the last 15 minutes of dessert time (9:45-10:00), they will go in the back and bring you a cup of regular or decaf.

We were in a deluxe room and there was a coffee maker with coffee, sugars and creams, cups and stirrers in the room. We never used it, but that would be your coffee fix between 10:00 pm and 6:30 am.

Gasparilla's says "Breakfast is 6:30-11am" Will they have some breakfast items out before then? I am thinking we need to be on the bus for EMH by 6:30.:confused3 See, I told you I am a crazy planner:eek: My family doesn't seem to be worried about food, or a schedule, or anything for that matter. Personall, I don't sleep at night.

Hmm.....then maybe just grab something in the park??? If we ever get up early - we have done it a handful of times:sad2: - our goal is to get there ASAP. We get ourselves out and to our destination and then worry about bfast etc or usually if we know we will be there early and in a hurry I plan a nice bfast ADR for mid morning at the EMH park.

Sorry I can't answer your questions better, but that's what we do in those early morning cases.

I plan on packing with some spacesaver bags, will I be able to get access to a vacuum with a hose to pack to come home?

Most hotels use an upright vacuum, not a canister vacuum (which uses a hose). You may want to call the hotel directly and request to be connected to housekeeping to see if they can accomadate your need.

We have been known to pick up breakfast items at Gasparilla's the night before an early morning - cereal, milk, juice, yogurt, bagels, mixed fruit - and store the refrigerated things in the fridge in our room. Make sure you grab bowls, plates, utensils, etc. Works well and you can eat whenever you're ready.

Instead of using the space bags that have to be vacuumed, get the ones that you roll and the air is forced out the end.

Gasparilla's is open 24/7 although the grill closes during the night. So you could pick up coffee, milk, juice, cereal, bakery products. etc. in the am unless you want to do it the night before as minniesota suggested.

Sorry I didn't see your post today. Unfortunately, I had to go back to work... :sad2:

Yes, we were last on, most of the time first off...:thumbsup2 Well, except for DTD, they always went to the WL before the GF. But, it really wasn't that big of a deal.

It was VERY full. The train was 7 feet long, and the dress weighed in at 35 lbs. :scared1: Talk about Humunga Kowabunga.... ;)

Here are some more pics of the bottom
