Tammi,

DDs has the spring ring clasp on it. I'll try to take a picture of it.

That is so cute!!! DDs have those type of little charm bracelets they bring with and add to every trip (well the cheapy charms) is that a sterling one? Or one of the little girl (cheapy) ones?? I have NEVER seen that before. I need to go back!!!

Tammi, I have often seen sterling charms at the jewelry store on Main St. Just looked at them in May. They had the traditional type charm bracelet charms and also the Chamilia charms. The Bay View Gifts in CR has some, too - I noticed the Italian charms there.

CUTE pic!

It's sterling silver with mother of pearl and has a good "weight" to it. It was with all the other charms in a huge display behind where you check out. They had just plain GF ones too, but DD liked Minnie.

It is adorable. I just might need one for myself! The girls have those cheap charm bracelets that you see in the shops with all the bins of charms to add. They usually pick out a couple each trip to add. I have a Chamilia charm bracelet, but maybe now I need a traditional style. Thanks for the info. Can't believe all the stuff I missed. LOL. NEED to return.....feeling the pull of GF......

Tell me about it. We watched our video today of our Dec 2005 trip at the GF. Not a good thing when planning a trip. Now I'm wanting to book a GF trip for holiday time!

I know what you all mean! We finally just finalized our December trip! Unfortunately, no AAA rates! We are crossing our fingers for AP rates! Now, almost 6 months to wait- way too long....

My charm bracelet is the traditional type. It is really thick and you can put multiple charms on each link area, which it needs due to its age! Last time we were in WDW, I got an absolutely beautiful charm of the castle. It is heavy and really nice. I also got a great one of Mickey, but did not see any of the resorts.
I do not collect anything except charms, glass Christmas ornaments, and I buy neat eclectic art pieces for our house. I will definitely be on charm patrol, so if anyone wants me to look for something specific, let me know!

that charm is super cute! I have never seen it before either! i LOVE buying stuff with GF logo on it, but they are SO EXPENSIVE! i wanted to get a Christmas ornament, but the ball one from what i remember waslike, 35 dollars!:scared1: the clothes and hats are cute too!

channing, i am feeling the GF pull, too. too bad it doesnt matter HOW hard the pull is, nothing can be done right now! lol

Jen, are your charms gold? I have a 14k gold charm bracelet that is now rather full with gold Disney charms. Ivy and Lace always has a few gold charms in stock as do most of the deluxe resort stores. The jewelry shop on Main St carries them as well as one store each (as far as I know) in the Studios, AK and Epcot. DTD usually has the widest selection. But I've never seen a charm specific to a resort.

A charm per trip was fun for a while but there haven't been any new ones I want for a year or two...most of the new ones are flat instead of 3D.

BCV23, No. my charm bracelet is sterling, My parents got it for me when I was 10 from Bennett Blue Book (anyone remember that catalog?? My sis and I would spend hours going through it)
I am like you though, and I do not like the flat charms at all. I am always on the lookout for neat heavy 3-D ones. I got the neatest bottle of Guinness charm in Ireland a couple of years ago.
I think charm bracelets are really neat and great ways to display souvenirs from places. I would love a gold one someday:love:

Jen, your bracelet sounds lovely. 30 years of memories is very special. I haven't noticed the sterling charms that you and Tammi have. THat's why I asked if yours was gold. I'm going to have to look a bit harder in the cases next time although I wouldn't switch colors at this point anyway. But fun to look at anyway.

I have seen the type that triplefigs's daughter has. My daughter has a bracelet of those although she is not much of a jewelry gal. There are so many choices in that costume jewelry line. What I've never understood is how WDW is able to label those the way it does.:confused3 At any rate, that is a cute GF charm.

Happy packing Jen...you're so close.

What would you do??

I am going to the GF in August with my daughter and my best friend and her daughter. DD and I have stayed at GF at least 10 times over the past 8 years or so but my friend and her child have NEVER been! I am excited about the prospect of maybe, just maybe, getting a refurbished room. I currently have a request for Sago Cay.

DD and I have stayed in suites in the outer lodge bldgs plus all the room views at different times, but NEVER stayed in the main bldg. Should I go for RPC?

The $ difference is insane but I know it would be fun. One thing that holds me back is the chance to have a brand new room. What do you think my odds are? Is anyone going soon? I am dying to hear a refurb. update...I have read the posts here about Sago still being worked on. When we book GV or LV I always request Boca Chica and always get it... so I'm hopeful that I will get Sago and therefore a new room. But I know I can't count on that. I'd almost be more excited about that than being RPC. What do you RPC regulars think?? Main building or brand new room (possibly) plus the $$ savings~

Thank you! :cutie:

johnsonet- Personally, I would go with the Sago request since it seems like you'd have a really great chance at a new room. Plus, I love that building! We'll be staying at RPC in Oct. and IPO told me the main building is scheduled to be done by the end of August barring any unforseen delays. So it seems a bit riskier to me given your timeframe (of course, you could always request a refurbished room with IPO). With the savings, you and and your friend could do something special like a Wishes cruise. Just a thought. Of course, we all know you can't go wrong either way! Now how was that for advice???:rotfl:

Kelly,
You are so close that it makes my 20 days seem like forever!!! Are you starting to pack yet? Have a great time!:dance3:

7 days ladies!

Kelly, I AM GOING! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :goodvibes

DH and I decided last night - we are committed. I need to make final ressies this morning. I am torn. I have SL/BC split, but I am on the fence about SL (I did all my planning anyway and wouldn't use IPO for a thing just the food and we aren't ever around a whole lot for that either except bfast) so I am thinking GV or lagoon view GF and then YC. Ugh. If it were RPC avail, I'd snatch it just because I love it. .... ALso, maybe just YC for the whole 8nts. OR......? the thought of moving resorts and being "homeless" for part of the day in the heat of July leaves me nervousy. I don't know which option to choose and I am feeling panicky. I am so excited, though, because I have had this booked then cancelled then booked etc....since March! And we are going. :)

I am keeping it secret from my girls. DS knows because I had to ask him if he would want to come with. YES, he does and I am so happy about that, too. :goodvibes I booked the backwoods Segway tour for DH and DS. Have all my ADRs from prior arrangements. We will check in on DD10 and DH's bday!

Johnsonet.....I love RPC. It wasn't available at all for us, but it has been wonderful for our GF stays. I honestly don't know what to tell you. It's hard because nobody knows for sure what the real deal is with these rehabs and what IS done, will be done when ....etc. New is good, but RPC is awesome and really special.

[QUOTELooking for advice - we have two RPC rooms reserved for 6 nights in Oct. We have now decided to arrive one day early but our flight doesn't arrive until 11 p.m. Where would you stay that first night? We hate to pay RPC prices when we know we'll arrive at the resort well after midnight. But we wanted to get to MK that first morning. Any advice???[/QUOTE]

I've done some late-night arrivals a couple of times, and here's what I did. Look into booking the Hyatt @ MCO. You can't get more convenient than staying inside the terminal when you arrive. The prices are a fraction of what you'd pay at Disney (even the moderates). Then you can get up the next morning and go enjoy Mickey's place........having saved lots of $$$ !

I am so glad you are going!!
We will have to meet up!
I will PM you.

I love YC and I agree about homeless that stinks. Do they just have a room at the GF the whole time? If not I would probably lean towards YC. Although a reg room at the GF would great to get back and forth quick and easy. Its so hot and I am looking forward to having the monorail. I even thought about swiching over to SSR for a 2 bedroom as we have my MIL joining us but I just dont wanna lose all extras the cabana, the monorail, the concierge.

That is so exciting!! When are you going?? I think whatever you decide to do room-wise will be fine. You are going!!! Although I have never done club level at WDW, I would probably not do SL this trip. Nothing against it, but you love RPC so much, you may be disappointed. Why not book a theme park view and do room service on the balcony? I also think I would keep the split stay. Of course, YC is where I want to stay next, I love, love the location! Walking to Epcot would be awesome. I figure with a GF and YC split stay you get the absolute best of both worlds!!:dance3:
