Castlelight....I just saw on another thread that you asked about chocolate in RPC. The evening treats from 8 to 10 pm has a variety of chocolatey goodies. They have chocolate dipped strawberries, mini eclairs, fudge sometimes, chocolate dipped gingerbread, chocolately gooey brownies - they have these out often during the afternoon snack times, too, and many other varieties of treats. :thumbsup2 You'll get chocolates at turndown, too.

Happy planning!

On the last day of our stay, I have the Mary Poppins breakfast booked at 10:30. I would like to get my DD the Cinderella Slipper dessert as a special treat. Should I wait until check in to order? Also, those of you that have had it, will a 12 year old like it? (she does like chocolate--she is related to me!) Thanks!

Thanks so much! You are always so helpful. I'm deep in the midst of last minute planning for my weddng, so I like to distract myself with dreams of all the little things that will make us happy on our disneymoon...like yummy chocolate with a glass of champagne! :cloud9:

Oh, you're sweet. You will love RPC. Happy wedding and honeymoon dreaming!

I see so many Dis GF friends will be at the Grand in July! :goodvibes My husband just said, "You'll meet them there". HAHA. :rotfl: He knows where my mind is, lol. I just may!:rotfl:

Kelly, last year I went for my 40th. It was the BEST TRIP EVER! (you know that spongebob song "The Best Day Ever"......) I would LOVE to go back this year. :thumbsup2 DH and DD10 have bdays on July 1 so over the 4th is perfect timing. I was looking at the AP website and the great rates for July are out for EPCOT resorts only starting July 1. The darn site isn't even working right, either. :sad2: Who knkows? Maybe I will go. We had planned on it, but with going this weekend thought it was too much of a good thing. I may change my mind in a couple weeks, lol.

Glad you got the cabana. It's nice and convenient and a bit of extra spoiling.:goodvibes

I have so much to do - packing, cleaning, laundry.....I can't make myself do it.

Channing:)

well you know where i will be on your bday
feel free to stop by the cabana from 10 to 2pm
:rolleyes1

Kelly, that is so funny!! :lmao: :thumbsup2 You just might get a surprise!! (Just kidding, I wouldn't do that to you, lol!) My DH's nephew is getting married in Clearwater FL on July 7 and GUESS WHAT.....the invite was ONLY addressed to DH. No Mr. & Mrs. ****. Hmmmm......how rude - or maybe they're just stupid? If we do go to that we would just have to go to WDW.;) I just think I should check myself into WDW around the 4th and let him go to the wedding alone.

Happy day,

Channing :) (Who really needs to get off the DIS and get something done to prepare to leave except the VIEW is on and I can do this and watch it.....)

Just a thought - do you think whomever had the job of addressing the envelopes simply made a mistake? Not knowing anything about your particualr situation - but after just finishing addressing all my invtes - I could see how that could happen. What if the nephew simply had you husband's name on a list and then gave that list to the B2B and she didn't realize that she was supposed to add Mr. & Mrs. It could just be a sloppy error. Perhaps your hubby should call his nephew, and say something like, "I'm sure this was just an oversight, but of course my lovely wife will be accompanying me to your wedding" You seem so sweet on these boards I doubt it was intentional. :bride:

:lmao: I AM SWEET!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: How could they do this to me, LOL??

You are probably right and it was a mistake. After I posted that,I thought maybe one of you wedding planners would respond with your thoughts. DH wanted to call, but I thought NO! Everybody and their cousin's sister knows how to address wedding invites, but maybe you're right and I should let him call and clarify. I was just afraid that would seem really kind of pushy. I don't know his family well as they have always lived across the country so I just didn't know if it would seem rude trying to get myself invited when maybe I really wasn't. :confused3 Honestly, I don't care too much & not too many feelings are hurt, but thought it was kind of weird. DH said if we don't go, we'll have to send them money. I am thinking.....obviously they don't know who buys the cards and writes the checks.;) (just kidding - well not really)

THANKS for posting. :flower3: I am seriously thinking of taking advantage of a great AP July rate and if we do, we should go to the wedding (IF it's WE) My bday is the start of VALUE season!!!:thumbsup2

Channing :)

Hi Everyone! I just found this link thanks to some little birdy in another thread. Looks like I have TONS of reading to do to get the most out of my GF stay. Just wanted to pop in and say HOLA!

Anyone else going to be there 7/20-7/25?

Welcome!:cheer2:
I will be leaving on the 20th! We are checking in on the 16th. I found this thread a couple of weeks ago, and I am still reading through it!
This will be our first stay at the GF, so I am trying to learn all I can to take full advantage of this lovely hotel. Less than 2 months away now!

Sorry we'll be just missing you. We'll pick up where you left off. LOL

Did you request a certain building or view?

I was bummed that there was no AP rate for my stay. I'm going to call AAA tomorrow to see if i can get my rate down at all. I haven't paid my deposit yet.

Is anyone here going to be there in the next couple of weeks? I am curious if the big gift shop (M Mouse something or another :confused3 ) sells those great big stuffed Mickey Mouse toys there. I really want to get one and sneak it into our room on the first day as sort of a "surprise" from Mickey for DS4 and I won't have the chance to do any shopping (alone) anywhere else but the GF. Anyway, could someone PLEASE give me the heads up if they sell them there, if not I need to come up with a plan B.
Thanks! Kristin

I did get Magic Kingdom View, but have not requested a building. I think Sago Cay and Conch Key are being renovated first, and I am thinking about requesting a room that has been newly done. I am waiting a little to see which is being done. How about you?

Hi, DD and I may have bfast at the GF in a couple days. I will check for you if we wind up going to our ADR. (Never know about bfast;) ) Is there a specific character you're looking for?? About how large?? I don't pay too much attention to them anymore because with flying I try and steer DDs away from too large/bulky a souvie.

Thanks Lives4! I am looking specifically for Mickey- the big one (I think they are around $70 or so :confused3 ). I, know, it will stink to have to bring it back on the plane, but he's pretty little, so Mickey can share his seat!!

OK! I will check and see what they have. :goodvibes I am almost positive I have seen them there. They have that whole wall of stuffed characters. Although it gets to the point where it seems like ya see the same stuff everywhere, so I might be wrong. I am sure we'll wind up at the GF sometime during the next week whether we make our bfast or not. I will post!:thumbsup2

Happy planning,

I don't know enough at this point to make a request. The only thing I asked for was ground floor, only because I'm afraid one of my little bucaneers will head over the balcony. Is MK view much more $$?

Hi! I see Lives4disney will check on this if she's over there but let me know if she does not get over there. We'll be staying at the GF in 12 days and DD and I will be glad to check for you!
