Thanks Michelle! It was a very heavy dress, but it was my dream dress....:cloud9:

I do have LOTS more pics, but they are on my other computer at the moment. I am working at putting them in my Photobucket account now... I will post them as soon as I have them.:)

You looked beautiful! Congratulations! Hope your wedding was wonderful and you enjoyed the GF!

At those prices, I jsut expected a bit more. The room was clean and comfortable, but really just not worth the money. We would have enjoyed the visit just as much in a lagoon view non-CL room for half the cost. As much as I love staying CL, I love it for the extra service, and we just didn't find anything extra service-wise this visit. It was definitely not worth paying for.

Anne

ITA, Our stay at RPC last fall was a bit of a let down. The room was fine, but we decided the experience of RPC was not worth the extra money.

I haven't posted on this subject yet, but I agree with Channing. It doesn't matter how much money a person or family has in the bank, it does matter that people no longer have manners or class.

While we were at the GF, people were in the lounge at all times making a mess and leaving their drinks, plates, and cups all over the tables! It makes me so mad - I do go as far to wipe down my table upon leaving so that the family behind me will have a clean place to eat. But, it surprised me how many times we had to clear someone's mess up so as to have a clean place to eat. That is just down right rude and disrespectful! I teach the students in my Kindergarten class to clean up after themselves, and it is a shame how many adults never learn that lesson.

And don't even get me started on the behavior in the parks. I am ashamed for these people many times....:confused3

On a more positive note - Channing, thanks so much for your kind words MANY pages back. I haven't had the chance to post muc now that we are back in school. Your girls are a beautiful as ever and your whole family was so sweet.

Our vacation didn't go perfectly, but no vacation we ever have does! ;) Thanks again - I loved my dress.... it had a corset built into it and I couldn't breathe and it was VERY heavy, but it didn't matter to me! It was beautiful....:cutie:

Many congratulations and best wishes on your marriage. What a gorgeous dress! Good choice - can't wait to see more pictures! :thumbsup2

:cloud9: WOW !!! just got off the telephone with member services and I was able ( after a 20 minute hold- whew!) to book a RPC Concierge for the start of our honeymoon in December!! I was SO dissappointed when the CM came on the line and told me there were no rooms left! I was scrambling to figure out which other resort I wanted to start our honeymoon at...

after reading everyone's comments, I 'm thinking we will not be dissappointed. my hubby-to-be and I are not demanding people and don't plan on requesting anything special. there were no honeymoon rooms left but I had them note it was our honeymoon ....

is there anything else I need to do??????

yeah!!!:cheer2: I am SO SO happy!!!!!!!!!!!

how is the Sugar Loaf Concierge?? I see that it would only be $140 extra for our stay. Just curious to hear from those who have tried it.

Thanks!

There are pros and cons. The good things are you have access to the preplanning office, the food offerings are the same as in the main building, you could REQUEST a Lodge Tower room - which sleeps 4, but has a separate seating area and extra TV, same ammenties as the main building. Also, SL is a great location close to the main building, boats, right near Gasparillas Grill and the garden pool. The negative really (for me) comes down to the view and lounge. The view is either marina or garden...both are very pretty, but in the main building the view could be (request only) MK. Also there is no real lounge - the lounge area is really the lobby of SL. Not a lot of seating areas, no TV (doesn't matter to me, but does to others) and no live music like in the main building. I also think the SL lounge is dim. There aren't windows and not a lot of natural lighting gets in. JMO. It doesn't feel bright and airy to me.

Happy planning!

I agree with Lives4disney.

I would pay for the extra $$$ to stay in Sugar Loaf, it is a very nice lodge building, and well kept. The offerings are just like the Main Building, only the ombience is a little different, as stated above.

We started out our stays in Sugar Loaf, until we got the Main Building Bug!:rotfl: It is gorgeous in there, but if this is your first stay in Sugar Loaf, I would by all means stay there! It is a wonderful experience and very convenient.

I know this has been asked ad-nauseam, but I can't find it by using the new search tools (why, oh why, did they upgrade to what seems like a worse system? :badpc:), so my apologies in advance.

Can anyone give me the e-mail address and phone # for GF IPO? Thanks!

We are currently planning to book a MK view at GF...Do you think SL would be better thank a MK view room? I know that is like comparing Apples to oranges..but just wondering.

I've spent the last hour or so reading from page 200 forward ( so much information!) even though I am a GF novice, I don't want to sound like one when I call. being a DVC member, I booked RPC using our points. However, while I stated it is our honeymoon, I neglected to request a King bed.

should I call DVC member services or the GF for this request? I saw in my journey through these pages a report on Turret room 4321 which has a King bed. Is this considered a "standard" concierge? do you think I would be able to request this room? it just looked absolutely incredible! and IF I wanted to upgrade, would I be able to do so on a cash basis for the difference?

:cloud9: this disneymoon can't come soon enough!!!

Hi, Glorydaz, and congrats on your upcoming Disneymoon!

I'm by no means an expert, but I'll chime in with what I think I know, and then let the others clean-up my response. ;)

The turret rooms you've seen pictures of are specific room types at the GF that can be booked - they are indeed Honeymoon Rooms, and do have the guaranteed king bed (this is the only room type that does have the guaranteed king to my knowledge). There are, however, two different types of Honeymoon Rooms at the GF, and the turret ones are requests only - they cannot be guaranteed. The other Honeymoon Rooms are in their own private area on the 2nd floor of the main building over Gasparilla's Grill, have views of Cinderella's castle, and jacuzzi tubs.

You could definitely call Member Services, and see if they can search for availability of this specific room type. I'm sure there are also other "standard" RPC rooms that may have a king bed, and you could always just have them add that to your requests. I'm sure putting on your reservation that it's your honeymoon couldn't hurt either!

I'm a fellow DVC member, too, and even though I've never booked a non-DVC resort using my points, it seems like I've read that Member Services will still control your reservation, so you may need to check with them first. Of course, since you're staying concierge, you can also get in touch with the Itinerary Planning Office, and put in your request for a king bed with them, too. I'm pretty sure they can't do anything to actually change the room type you're booked into.

You should also ask MS about upgrading with cash - I have no clue if that's available or not when staying on points. I do know in dollars that it's only about $10/night to get a honeymoon room over standard RPC.

Good luck! When are you traveling? Feel free to ask all sorts of questions here - everyone is so helpful.

So, I actually popped on to let you guys know that, so far, IPO is doing well in my book. :thumbsup2

I e-mailed them earlier this evening (thanks, Channing, for posting the address!) just to verify that they had my reservation and put in a couple of rooms requests, and I had a reply in about 45 minutes.

Even though it wasn't personally signed by one of the CM's, it was very courteous, confirmed my reservation and that they would note my requests, was grammatically correct, and used the word "GRAND" a lot. ;) They also reminded me of the 180-day mark for ADR's, and that I would have plenty of time to "ponder" things and let them know what all I wanted.

Maybe word has gotten back that they need to step things up a bit! Makes me even more excited for our trip! :yay:

hey Tinkaroo, thanks for all the info! I will definitely try Member Services to see what I can do. We are starting our disneymoon at the Gf Dec 10th for 3 nights , then off on the Wonder for another 3 and finally SSR (home) for yet another 5 nights! My birthday is on the 19th and I couldn't think of a better place to spend it than in Disney with my sweetheart :cloud9:
