Mike - The valet charge is per day. It does not include the tip. I think it is definitely worth it. If you go to any other deluxes, you can valet park for free. (Except for the tip).

I would tip $3-$5 a day for mousekeeping.

Hi,

DW and Dis Crazy Hubby will be staying in a GV Room and I was wondering if anyone on the board had a favorite room # and/or building that they would like to "share".

I enjoy reading everyone's posts and can't wait for our first stay at the GF. :cool1:

Thanks,
Dis Crazy Hubby
Mike

7122 in conch key was a quiet location just steps away from the boat dock and out the door of the building to the left is the marina with the castle and fireworks great location have a great trip!

I just read on Mouseplanet that Bldg 6 (concierge) will be undergoing a full refurbishment in September 2007. I can't wait to see what changes are in store!

Channing, I can ask you the same questions. I haven't been around this board a lot lately, and hope that you finally made a decision about your holiday visit. Anywhere you stay will be magical.... :wizard:

Are you and the girls going to MVMCP?

Angela, we decided to go all out and stay at our favorite RPC. :goodvibes My husband loves it and we know we will have a great time. :sunny: We have had a very sad fall....my daughter has lost more of her sight and it has become very apparent and difficult for her. We love having a special WDW vacation to look forward to. I think that room popping open for me while on the phone with CRO was meant to be. I have basically given up on getting any kind of AAA or AP discount, though...I just count it as such luck that a room popped up available for Dec 19 (value season, lol!) check in for exactly the dates we wanted. We aren't doing the Xmas party this time as we arrive Dec 19 and I really don't want to be in the crowds of those last couple parties. We have done them twice before around Thanksgiving, though & they are fun. My son and DH are so looking forward to their Segway tour!

I was just thinking about you the other day....I saw a pic of your bday (I think bday, but maybe it was a sample of your wedding cake??) It had pink filling, I think I remember. Very pretty.(OK, I hope that was yours!! I saw soooo many cake pics on that thread, but I know I did see a cake pic of yours somewhere over there) I hope all is going great getting ready for your special day. We will have to look for you taking pics around the GF - you are going to aren't you?? - on Dec 21!! Are you getting married on GF property or in the Wedding pavillion?? I am sure it will be so beautiful. Take care & hope all is going terrific for you :) Congratulations again. What a wonderful thing to have a wedding at WDW. :sunny:

we are staying SL as RPC wasnt available
we are skipping the xmas party
there are other things I would rather be doing

Traci, I'm so glad you had such a great trip! I'm loving looking at all your pictures. your kiddos are just adorable. And do cherish it now, cause it just flies by. I couldn't believe the difference in my kids just since last December and how much "bigger" they seemed and what they wanted to ride.

What dates were you there? I'm always on the lookout for non-crowded park times for my DS.

I am so sorry to hear about your little one... I know how frustrating it is to have something like that happen to your child, and feel so helpless to do anything about it. Here is some :wizard: that her sight has stabalized, and won't worsen. She is such a sweet little girl... ;)

As for the room, keep checking on a rate discount. When we booked BG's parent's room, there was no discount for our dates either. Then, I called back a few days ago and the AAA rate was available! You never know what opens up... Your DH and DS should love the Segway tour! BG and I did that when we were there this summer, and we both had such a great time! And it is so neat to see the WS without people walking around. :thumbsup2

Yes, that was my birthday cake at Citrico's. We loved the restaurant and can't wait for our reception to be there! As for the wedding planning - I think I need more time!!! I can't seem to make my mind up on anything! I am starting to feel very overwhelmed. BG and I always take our families to the beach for Thanksgiving (I refuse to cook anymore - every one else enjoys the day while I am in the kitchen  ) so that is coming up soon, then we only have a little more than 2 weeks before we leave for the wedding.

We do plan on having LOTS of pictures taken around the resort. The wedding is at 4, so I should be the one walking around in a HUGE dress starting at around 3... :cheer2:

We will be there until the 23rd, so we will have to meet in the lounge for a nice drink. I am sure that by traveling with both sets of families, I will definately need it!!! ;)

Anastasia,

Thanks for your reply and "tips" - after paying $40 per day for valet parking in Boston - $7 per day seems like a value!

Have a great day! :sunny:

Mike

Hi Soxnation,

Thank you for your thoughtful reply :sunny: with what sounds like an ideal room / location recommendation for a DW and DH. I will fax my request for the room or a similarly located one in the conch kay building four days prior to our scheduled arrival.

Thanks! We missed our trip last year due to last minute illness, so we are really looking forward to this years trip. I'll report back on the actual room and location we are assigned at "check in", I'm sure where ever it is, we'll be happy campers.

I'll try to take plenty of pictures and post them when I have a chance along with a trip report. 19 days and counting... :woohoo:

All the best,
Mike

Good morning fellow GF lovers!

My 40th (gulp) birthday is at the end of this month, and my DH surprised me this weekend with a 5 day birthday trip to WDW during the first week of December, since he knows I'd love to experience MVMCP and the Candlelight Processional at least once with DD and him. And although I am the official planner of all vacations, he contacted Cathy at DU and asked her to help him make all the plans and ADR's for the trip! This is actually the biggest surprise I've ever received and he is just the sweetest DH ever!

Here's my question: he booked LV as a treat (only done this once before) and has requested Conch Key, our favorite building, so how are the lagoon views from Conch Key?

Thanks
!

:sunny:

Phyllis - I can't say how the Conch Key views are as I have never stayed in that building, but I wanted to say HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY! I had my 40th bday at the GF in July and I can honestly say it was the BEST birthday I have ever had. Hope yours is as wonderful! :wizard: What a nice husband to surprise you like that. :goodvibes Mine would never, but he let me plan the whole shabang - no limits! :thumbsup2 (and I took advantage of that!!!)

Happy planning - I am sure somebody else will come along and answer your question. PS....I love your siggy pic!

Hi Phyllis and Happy birthday a bit early! :bday: What a great surprise!

We've twice had the same room in Conch Key with an absolutely wonderful view of the MK. All the lagoon view rooms in that building face the castle so I imagine it is a frequent request but I hope you get it! :cool1:
