For all you Krispy Kreme lovers...I looked it up, and there are two KK stores in Orlando:

4080 Millenia Avenue
Orlando, FL 32839 US
Phone: 407-447-5285

and

11571 University Blvd
Orlando, FL 32817 US
Phone: 407-273-5550

It's been my experience that if there's a KK store in town, most grocery stores will carry the doughnuts.
I feel it my duty to tell you, though, that if you can actually go to the store, and the "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign is on, you MUST try one that is fresh off the line! OMG!!!!! They are absolute nirvana!! They almost literally melt in your mouth!! :cloud9:

I feel that no one should be deprived of their KK's, so if any of you want me to ship you some, I'd be happy to buy a fresh box, seal it in a zip-loc and send it to you!!! :thumbsup2

I don't know if this is old news (since I can't keep up with this thread) but when we were at AK for the Breakfastaurus there was KK at it!

Just a quick bit on Oatmeal... the lounges will typically offer fresh hot oatmeal only during the colder months.

There are glazed Krispy Kremes with chocolate icing right at Gasparilla's! :cloud9: They do run out early though! Usually by 9 or so ,so get there early!

You guys are great! :thumbsup2 I will tell them. :sunny:

I love oatmeal!!!! :teeth: I think it is so odd that they have cold ham and cold turkey and cheeses at bfast. :confused3 Maybe it's just me!??! My youngest (very picky DD 6) actually likes the cheese, though, so it's a good thing. :) Odd, but good.

We do not have KK stores here, but we have had them fresh and hot from stores in AZ. Those are the best! Macrosswife, that is so nice of you.

My kids actually voted to go to Chef Mickey's on Xmas morn due to the fact that last time we were there, they had KK's at the buffet!

We usually just stay 1st floor Garden View at the GF, and I am trying to decide if I should opt for something different next year. I am thinking of MK view or Lodge Tower, but I'm not sure if LT will accommodate my family of 5. Anyone know? Thanks! :sunny:

Just had to join in and mention that many business/concierge level lounges I have encountered in my business life include a variety of proteins in their continental breakfast offerings - boiled eggs, ham, cheese, various smoked fishes, etc. Europeans in particular enjoy the variety of meats and cheeses - and I've found this can make a great snack for later! I've had some wonderful breakfast overs the years, sometimes my favourite meal of the day. Imagine a freshly baked baguette and some runny cheese....mmm!!!

In fact, I've found that many of my European colleagues are surprised when they attend meetings in the office, expecting continental breakfast and finding only danishes and bagels. At times they are lucky to find decent fresh fruit! They are perplexed as to how one can last the morning without a good protein hit. Having made significant changes to my own diet in my 40's, I find I really need my oatmeal or cheese, or I fade very fast.

I was really pleased to hear about the offerings - one of my sons won't eat cereal and I won't let them eat pastries for breakfast, so ham and cheese will serve him well.

Mind you, they do still speak so sadly of the now defunct KK outlet at a local grocery store...

Twinmum, you're right about the protein. I miss the yogurt. I usually eat the fruit and take lots of yogurt to dip it in. My kids love yogurt, too - along with their KKs. :) I am not a cheese lover and facing cold ham and turkey in the morning doesn't appeal to me, either. You're right, though -the GF has people from all over the world. Somebody must be enjoying the meats and cheeses in the morning or they wouldn't keep serving it.

Hi All,

I read on another Disney Site that the taping of the Walt Disney World Very Merry Christmas Parade with Regis and Kelly will occur between December 1st and 3rd.

DW and I are preparing for our first stay at the GF from 11/28 to 12/3 (can't wait!).

I have heard that some of the celebrities stay at the Grand Floridian during the taping of the Christmas Parade and was wondering if that will have any impact on us "regular folks" during our stay?

Also, has anyone attended a past taping of the Christmas Parade and if so was if enjoyable?

Thanks to everyone for their great posts and contributions to the board. :)

Hi! We just got back from a week's stay at the grand Floridian. We were in Big Pine Key(building 9) in a Lagoon view rooms. We had 2 rooms. Our views out our balcony were of the lagoon and we looked straight ahead to the Contemporay and the Polynesian to our right and to our left was the Magic Kingdom with a great view of the castle and the train station. The views in these rooms were Awesome!! Our room numbers were 9141 and 9142, we were on the first floor. It was Packed the week we were there, it was the golf tournament. If you want rooms with a GREAT view ask for one of these rooms. There were ducks outside our balcony every morning. The view of the light show each night was amazing and so were the fireworks. We could here them opening the magic kingdom each morning if we were on our balcony.
Thanks for all the great tips we got on this board! The Grand Floridian was just Super!!

I have heard the same re: the celebrities staying at the GF, but I think it can change from time to time. Seems like I remember hearing that Regis and Kelly were over at the AKL last year.

I was at WDW during the taping last year. It doesn't affect the actual crowds in the MK that much beyond Main Street during the actual tapings, but the Saturday evening after a day of taping was the busiest we've seen the MK in a long time. All of the extras seemed to want to enjoy the park after standing on the sidewalk cheering all day - it was a mad house!

That would be my sons as I think between the three of them the "red wax cheese" plate was completly cleaned each morning.

My youngest asks for it from the grocery. I purchase it and serve it, but somehow it doesn't have the same appeal without the beautiful surroundings and the promises of a park day ahead ;)

Even though our next trip isn't until 2009, we still debate weekly which hotel to stay in. Two of our 5 in the family want to go back to RPC - I am hooked!

That is so funny! That is the same cheese my PICKY DD6 LOVES!! That cheese a banana and some pumpkin muffins (or blueberry 2nd choice) is her bfast at the Grand. :teeth:

PammyPoppins - Glad you had a nice stay & vacation. Sounds like the perfect room location with a great view. :) Is that building the smoking building?? I thought I read it was. Maybe just part of it?? I am glad Chef Mickey's hasn't dumped the KK's. My kids love that place and all the goodies they offer. :goodvibes

Lives4Disney :)

Dear Lives4Disney,
I asked about that being a smoking building. My daughter uses oxygen sometimes at niht so a smoking floor was out of the question. They told me the top two floors were smoking rooms but not the bottom floors. The location was really good, we were very close to everything and close to the main building. I was surprised how crowded it was in October. It looked like June to me with the crowds, especially the closer it got to the weekend.
Have a great trip in December.
Pam

There is a Krispy Kreme store on 192 about 5 minutes from Celebration as well. It is past Old Town near CVS/Macaroni Grill/Sherwood Forrest. I have seen them sold at Publix.

Thanks, Pam! That building seems very convenient to everything including the pool, but I wasn't sure about the smoking aspect. Glad it worked out for you and your daughter was OK with it, too. My DH used to go to the Gartner Symposium every year during the middle of Oct. and we used to extend our stay (dah! :p ) and I remember that golf crowd, too. We haven't been to WDW in Oct in a few years, but I thought it was SUPER CROWDED during that time. The CMs said lots of schools have "fall break". Not us, lol....we were playing hookie. We found wall to wall people in Epcot for F/W fest and the MK was packed & we had trouble even getting out after the eve fireworks. I was disappointed at how crowded it was. That was back when we could pull our kids out for a January trip, though. We were spoiled. Now we have to just go when they (and everybody else) has school breaks.

Thanks for the info.
