mom2taylorandemily, looks like we will be at the GF at about the same time! :thumbsup2 Have you made your ADRs yet?

Castle,
I see you are there in July!
We are there july 2nd thru the 11th
I see you are getting married at the grand? At the Wedding pavillion?
Congrats~ :cheer2: :dance3: :yay:

For the renovations, I've been keeping an eye on the Kingdomsurplus store on E-bay and so far, I've only seen items for sale from the 5th floor of the Conch Key building. If they are doing it floor by floor, I imagine that if they indicated honeymoon rooms, they mean the 2nd floor units first. The turret rooms will probably be done with the other rooms on their floor.

Thanks, Tammi! :woohoo: Maybe I'll get lucky and get a renovated room. We requested a room on the 2nd floor because we want a balcony.

Ok, i just did something unexpected to my reservation and I need feedback. We are booked GF theme park view the nights of July 15-20 with 6 day park hopper passes with dining. (did I mention only 34 days away???  )

Anyway our last day at WDW is Friday June 20, but we are staying in the area to spend Saturday with DH's uncle who lives near St. Cloud. Anyway we fly out of MCO at 8;45pm on Sat. July 21, so I had originally booked a hotel at the airport for Friday night thinking we would stay at WDW for as late as we wanted then take a taxi to our airport hotel.

The more I thought on this, the sillier it seemed, so I just booked POP as a room only for Friday night. That way I figure we can check out the the GF after our breakfast, have them transport our luggage, and then not have to worry about Friday night at all, just hang out and play more at the parks. Then when we get up Sat we can call the uncle and make plans.

Does this seem like a better plan to you all/ Pop preferred room was only $122, and I didn't even really want to spend $175 at a mod since it is an extra just sleep night. The only problem is we stayed at POP once before and did not like it at all. Of course, that was for a whole week and the garishness got to be to much to take. No offense to those who like it, it is just not our taste. We need to be able to relax and kick back during our down time, and Pop is just too frenetic for us.

Anyway, sorry about the length of this post, but I would really like some feedback!

Thanks!

Jen,

My Dad and I are talking about doing that, only on our arrival day. We want to add a day because of a flight schedule, but don't want to spend the money on the GF just to sleep there, as we will be arriving really late. I think that that is a good decision, and switching resorts is very easy.

I've done the exact thing previously, but on the front end of a trip. We found with a AAA or AP discount at Pop, it was cheaper than getting a room near the airport. We arrived at Pop around 1:30 a.m., went to sleep, got up in the a.m. and headed for the AKL!

I'm with you that Pop is not my personal preferred style, but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again for a night or two.
