Hey Channing!!!

Could you possibly post your pictures of the cabana again. I have been thinking about renting one for a couple days during the honeymoon, and I can't remember what they looked like, but you had some nice shots. Are they too pretentious in your opinion??

To make your BBB reservations at the 180 day mark? Or would you handle that reservation yourself? Would like opinions. Our 180 day mark is approaching on May 22 for Nov. 17. TIA!

I always let IPO make my ADR's and BBB appointments! Calvin has been wonderful with booking everything for me! He just booked a BBB appointment for us the other day and we are going in 2 weeks. It seemed like it was no problem! I got the date and time I wanted. Of course, if you feel more comfortable booking it yourself then I would go ahead ,but, we've just always had IPO book everything for us and so far,so good!(even CRT)

Aw! THANKS!!! I have to make it thru 4 tough days of reality, lol. The last few are always the worst it seems. We are staying at the Swan this time for a conference DH is attending - so it's free & can't beat that. Just my older daughter is going with. My son can't miss a week of HS and DD7 WANTS to stay home and be spoiled by Grandma. It will be a different trip for sure but some nice bonding time with DD10. We've never been to the doll and teddybear fest or characters in bloom weekend. Some new stuff.

thinking about the swan or dolphin for a birthday trip for me in november love to hear your thoughts on your stay there and wish you a wonderful time bonding with DD our las trip was mother daughter and i will hold those memories of mom sis and i very deeply

litlpixie - Hi! I missed this post, but I did reply to the thread about the GF Cabanas with my pics. I don't know about pretentious....hmmm.....kind of maybe a little? Although many people think the whole GF is pretentious. I don't happen to think so at all. Back then there was only the one cabana for rent, the others were first come first serve. It sounds like maybe there are more than one set up for renting now, so not AS pretentious (y)...lol. DH really wanted HS internet access and that wasn't available for him like we thought. He did really enjoy having the cabana though. I was surprised with that. Never know about him. It is just a little extra special thing & may be nice for you. I was surprised to hear Kelly post that she had trouble booking one. They were WIDE open for our trips. These things must be catching on! I would rent it again.

Cinderumbrella - I am not sure how far in advance. Maybe somebody else knows?? We were not far out when we booked and as I said they were WIDE open, but now that they seem to be catching on it would be really good to know when they can be booked.

Heatherlynn - yah, I am getting excited, but it's hard with all the stuff going on right now. It's coming to the end of my kids' school year and they have SO MUCH crammed into these next couple weeks it makes my head spin. Things are crazy and I honestly don't even feel like WDW is in my reality (although I did go buy some DORKY blue Crocs with Disney Jibbitz a couple days ago ) Probably won't feel like I am going on vacation until Sat morn when the limo comes to take us away!! I will post pics for sure.

Soxnation- That is so nice to hear. I am just torn between having this bonding with just DD10 and me being a wonderful, fun thing and then so afraid I will miss my other two kids ...kind of like the first time DH and I vacationed alone together.... I was happy for it, but kind of nervous that I'd miss the kids and ruin it for myself!!! (It turned out GREAT, though !) I will let you know how the Swan stay goes.

Today is the 60 day mark for our first stay at the GF!! I am so keyed. I have 14 more days of work (I am a teacher) then I will have a month and a half to obsess even more about going back to WDW!! I truly LOVE the planning.
I still have not requested a lodge yet for our MK view. Maybe I will just play it by ear and see what they give us at check in!
What do you pros think?

Thanks! I called the PLAY number today and you can book it 90 days out (which for me is in a couple of weeks). DH loves the idea for renting one for a few days since we can do it for just an AM or late PM as it fits our schedule. As for being pretentious- bring it on!!

a joke here yesterday when I called and booked the cabana I spoke with someone
thats right i called to leave a message and someone asnwered the phone I was shocked!! I couldnt believe it she was very nice Jermaine was her name.

As for the cabanas I was told any GF guest can book them so they are filling up quickly. I am there from the 2nd-11th of July and the 8th was the only morning I could get one.

hm any thought about being at wdw for that special day? maybe at the GF?
I think they just rent the big one with all the stuff in it. It was pretty booked, I am surprised I got it.

Just back from two great weeks at WDW, and although we stayed at OKW this trip, we visited the GF many times for dinners and to sight-see.

In response to an earlier post, I think the GF rooms now all come with refrigerators, although microwaves are by request. Not sure, but last year our room at the GF had a refrigerator in it when we got there.

The GF marina and the other resort marinas have done away with the length-of-stay plan and the Captain's Plan for boat rentals. You rent by the hour, unless you have a premium plan that includes unlimited boat rental.

I noticed that the trees outside of the Boca Chica building (facing the lagoon) have had MANY branches removed, and when I asked I was told that they were chopped to make sure that all of the Boca Chica rooms that face the lagoon are MK view rooms.

Well, I just heard back from Calvin....he has reserved our cabana for us for the day I requested He has been really great at getting back to me quickly..
