I can definitely understand what you're saying, as I had some of those same thoughts! We always cruise during the milder weather cruise season and have a cabin mid or just slightly aft (as I've read repeatedly those are the best spots for the least amount of movement). My parents always took 2 - 3 week cruises (on Princess) and loved them, so that gave me better insight to cruising and what I'd like/dislike.

My boys have decided that they would like to be captain of one of the Disney ships one day.

Marci, what weirdness is this???!!!! I got off the DIS and flipped thru TV channels and what came on?? Disney Cruise Line show on the Travel Channel!! OK, kind of spooky. It was awesome. The ships are gorgeous. I think your boys could do worse than being Disney ship captains. I say go for it! There's a ship for each of them.

Now I am watching the behind the scenes Disney show. fun.

I am on page 307 of the 445 pages in this thread. I didn't want to wait until I reached the end to post though, lol.

My Sister and I decided a few days ago to go to Disney in November 2008 for what we hope to be part of the Super Soap Weekend. Last night I put a deposit down on a Magic Kingdom View from November 4th-10th 2008!! I am so excited. My Sister, Lauren, and I have never been on vacation alone before and I just know we'll have a great time.

My hubby will (then) be in Afghanistan for the 3rd time so I figured it would be the perfect time to get away for a girls only trip. We have to work the logistics out as my Sis has a 6 year old daughter but I am hoping that our Parents and one of our Aunt's can split time (3 days each) watching her.

I have NEVER stayed in a Deluxe Disney Resort before! So far I've only been in 2 values with an upcoming Mod stay (Caribbean Beach) with DH for 10 nights over Xmas and New Years! I don't know if I am more excited about being on the Monorail, having the MK view, or just being at a Deluxe in general, lol.

I will finish the rest of the thread now and look forward to chatting with you all about the Grand Floridian!

FYI the Travel Channel Show that GrannieMInnie is talking about is at noon EST this Sunday. It is Great Hotels.

I set my TIVO!!!

Where we are the GF episode of Great Hotels is airing @ noon on the travel channel on the 27th...not Sunday. I also set my TIVO...so excited to watch it! There is also one on the AKL later in the week if anyone is interested.

Unless I am 100% wrong about this the few times I have seen Wishes from the marina by Gasparilla's, I don't remember hearing the music.

I wonder when they changed it to piping in the music....I sat on a bench watching wishes in Oct 2005 & Feb 2006 and there was no music.....

I would LOVE it if the next time we are there we have music! LOL!

We were in Sugar Loaf this May and the music was piped in by the marina.

Also in Conch Key in January and it was played from a spot near Narcoossee's. Very east to hear and see from the boat dock there as well as from Conch Key. We could also hear Wishes during a previous stay in Conch Key. Have to figure out when that one was. Anyway, the boat dock is a very popular place to watch. The benches there are filled and quite a crowd usually gathers...fun to watch from a Conch Key balcony.

Hmmm........I am not sure. Since Thanksgiving seems to be earlyish this year - maybe???? We arrive Nov 16 and that is the weekend right before Tgiving.....I would think it would be up before that because that just seems like it's cutting it close and I know it takes a few days to get it completely done & ready.

Kelly (Alicnwondrln) was there sometime mid Nov last year. Maybe pM her?? She has posts a couple pages up. I thought she either said it was up while she was there or it was on it's way up.

I hope you do get a chance to see and smell it, lol. It is soooo cute.

I was there last NOV and the house was up around the 11th I think it was. I arrived on a Friday night and it was so nice. It opened that Saturday for business.

Also I was at the GF this July and Wishes music was piped in over at gaspies.
I was over there on the 4th and heard and on two other nights.

We will be staying at the GF for the first time in Sept!!! I am so excited We have never even been to the GF before...the closest we have come is to ride the monorail by it. I can't wait to see the show tomorrow about the GF either!

Heading out tomorrow for our stay at the GF !!!! We will arrive in Orlando at 9:45am. I haven't told the kiddos yet but we have a limo picking us up at the airport so we should make decent time to the GF!! I also ordered a large Minnie Mouse for dd .

Tomorrow after dinner at O'hana's I am having tuxedo strawberries, truffles and a mini castle cake delivered to our room (another surprise)!!

I'll report on our GF photo session when we get back. We are scheduled for Thursday around sunset (right before our dinner at Narcoossee's). I hope I have it timed right! We will all be wearing dark bottoms and white shirts (dd will be wearing a white dress). They mentioned not to wear stripes, polka dots, etc. and the pics work out best if everyone matches . Sounds intriguing.
