I priced the WL for our dates....$3105 for woods view.

We are paying $1562 with AP rate...so your paying $1543 for 2 7 day hoppers? ok take the $750 gift card off and you are paying $793 for the passes.....THAT IS CRAZY !!

at least for us.....

Yes, for you it would be. For those of us who do not have AP's, its a good deal and better than nothing.

Like most deals, it won't work for everyone.

Well...maybe it is a good deal...I played with #'s NOT comparing them to my AP rates....

AKL std view $2908 with new deal and $750 gc

AKL std view no tix $2408 and 7 day hoppers $572 = $2980

so in that case you are getting the $750 gc FREE....

so it does help......if I did my math right:teacher:

and you are paying about $1586 for the room portion...which is what we are paying with AP rate. so....in the end you are getting a deal but to shell out $2908 all at once is pricey.

I re-booked today from room only, WL, woods view with bunk beds. The new deal with the gift card saves about $250 from the 40% off code. Yes, it is a full price room, and with 40% off we were saving about $96 a night in a standard room for 5 nights. Add on the $750 gift card. So, that is how this comes out $250 ahead. I was going to buy tickets anyway, I was just waiting. Also, the gift card is good for tickets, so I am going to use it to pay for the park hoppers!

As the PP, I also found that the GC deal may be better than the 40% off code. All weekend, I have been doing the 40% math with all seven of our planned nights and then comparing that to the GC. However, this morning it dawned on me that I should be doing the 40% math with just 5 of our nights. That way it comes out to a savings of $150 per room for WL, a $245 savings per room for mod and a $186 saving per room for value. We will be booking two rooms. Then I will book our last two nights with the 20-30-40 code.

But for those of us that book packages, that's the norm. You have all the costs up front. I know when I had AP's it stunk big time to shell out almost 2K for them, but then of course I didn't have that cost for the next trip(s). Now that I only go once per year, I do have a bit of sticker shock when I see it all spelled out, but one way or the other, a Disney trip will cost you plenty!

It doesn't beat the free dining or the 4 for 3 deal. That's for my family anyway. 2 adults 2 kids, I've done the math for all the deals ,such as room discounts. We usually go for 10 days and free dining saves us just under $1400.We work the DDP to a tee!

Everyone's situation is different, you really need to work the numbers and also time of year matters too.

Happy Planning!

I'm one of the ones that it doesn't work as well as the AP deal. For one thing, I'm a solo - and typically solos work out better with big room discounts instead of packages. There's only a few dollars difference, taking into account applying the ticket toward my AP renewal, but I have the added benefit of the more liberal cancellation policy sticking with the room only reservation. I agree that you have to really run the numbers carefully before deciding on whether to book the trip with a code or as a package. There have been a couple times the packages worked out better for me (usually on packages where I only had to buy a one day ticket).

The new deal doesn't come close for Poly Club 40% off pin. I would imagine it also would be the same for any 4/3 deals.

Just pricing it out
Pin: 5 nights Room/Dining/6 day Tickets with PH = $4202

Gift card + No Dining = $4648

I could drop down to Garden view Poly for $3833 including card but losing the club Breakfast and snacks...probably about $350 in value for 5 people for 6 days.

So, this offer isn't bad for people with most offers. I would say that only the 40% at deluxe and 4/3 deal beats this by a significant margin. Everyone else in other time windows should enjoy a nice savings with this especialy using it on food.

THis deal really pushes away AP holders. With most offers in the past, all you had to purchase was a 1 day per person ticket. I guess maybe if only going for 5 days, it might end up being worth it but not a week. We have the 40% off Pin (can't get the 45% off room for our stay with AP, room not avail.) Last year the offer was better in my eyes. We had the PIN for a Free $500 giftcard. All you had to do was book ANY resort for 5 days and purchase at least a one day pass each and get the $500 (3 days was $300, 4 days $400 as well) We booked 2 value rooms with 1 day passes for 6 nights for under 900 each!! One giftcard was used to upgrade a 1 day to an AP for my son since he didn't have an AP, we had APs and used the other card to mostly eat with TIN as well!! We did get a really good deal last year.

This years offers seem to include length of stay tickets only (the 4/7 and 5/7 did as well) This kind of puts AP holders into the room only type discount.

Glad I am going in July Maybe they will come up with something better, I am not crazy about this deal

For me I don't think this is a great deal either. However, for some families it may be better than no deal. I think for 1-2 persons you'd get the most savings for this deal.

I'm trying to rework my numbers. Currently we have 2 rooms at the 40% off woods view for a total of $2598.75 for the 2 rooms. One person has an AP so really doesn't need the tickets. We also have 4 one day passes that we were going to use 3 of to upgrade to APs at a cost of 1,309.68. That makes the total $3,908.44 without food and paying up front (no 6 months interest free on Disney Visa)

We really don't care about the woods view; that was all that we could book at the time. The cost rack rate STANDARD room (this I guess is why I am doing this 2 rooms 7 days @$25/night makes my I guess savings) plus the 5 day for each is $4,781.44. We could upgrade 3 of the 5 day passes with giftcards for $822.91. This way we end up with $666.09 left for spending on food.

Now the question. Do I really need all these extra tickets that I never seem to be able to use ( one 5 day and the 4 one day passes) Maybe it's worth it.

The total out of pocket for the $750 giftcard is 4,781.44 less what we will have to currently spend for the current discount that we have and upgrading 3 of the 1day passes (that we have) will be 4,781.44 less $3,908.44 = 873.00.

With the new offer (free gift cards) we will pay the greater amount and have a five day and 4 one day passes and 666.09 towards food. The difference out of pocket is $873. So I guess it's kind of worth it if I want to have all these tickets and 6 months interest free for 207! I just don't know what I'll end up doing with all the tickets since we never seem to be able to use them up and now it seems WDW isn't letting you get these special packages without length of stay tickets. Not sure what to do yet!! I guess I better decide before the standard rooms are gone for my dates and it won't be worth it at all!! Can't do the split stay since I really don't want to change rooms for 2 days!! (woods view one ressie, regular for the other) I won't pay the full rack rate on the woods since it would negate the savings at all (having the tickets) We really don't care about the view anyway.

I booked our last week of May/first week of June vacation many months ago. The buy 4/get 3 free promo didn't apply to our dates. I have tried every trick in the book and haven't received a pin code. So, when the new special offere came out, I was really excited. I called and modified our existing reservation (cost is still the same) and now I'll get the $500.00 gift card when we check in. That's $500.00 less money I need to save as spending money. While the new deal doesn't work for everybody, it certainly worked for this pinless Diser.

OP, do you have a PIN code? I've been trying and trying to get one but no dice. And I'm not going to book now and hope I get a 40% discount later! But I'm afraid there won't be any rooms left by the time a general AP discount comes out. :(

Lisa, that is exactly like us. I booked Easter week back in July, got my airfare and hoped and gambled they would extend the 4/3 deal into Easter like they did this past year. When this deal came out, I was very happy. $300 isn't as deep a discount for the four of us as say free dining or 4/3, but its better than nothing. I've been pinless for so many years, I have given up ever getting one!
