So it sounds like producers/TPTB know who they want to win and pair accordingly. Does Tony always get the short stick because he's not flashy and is a nice guy?

I voted for Roshon & William. I actually have a third phone, one that came with my Time Warner cable bundle, that I never remember I even have. Otherwise, I would have thrown some votes to Donald, too.

Melissa was good in her Val & Maks dance. But, it's time for her to go home.

I ended up voting for Melissa for two reasons. One, she has really improved and two, I am tired of how they always make Maks look like an egotistical bully. Maks has worked wonders with a lot of his partners and he never seems to get credit for it, they give him participants but he still gives it his all.

I am tired of Derek and Mark, and even Cheryl. I was surprised that they showed the darker side of Derek. I want to see Donald in the finals, he has been underscored a lot. I would rather watch Maks and Melissa than Derek and Maria.

Of course if I was putting money on it I would say Melissa and Roshon will be going home tonight.

I will be skipping AGT this year. I can't stand to even look at Howard Stern, let alone listen to him. I was disappointed in the judging last year, some of the acts they sent to Hollywood should not even have made it to Vegas. So I was undecided if I would watch this year, the choice of Stern made my decision easy.

I just have one question though - who does Donald have to sleep with to get a 10? That jive was fantastic, and clearly Peta was disappointed with the way it was scored, as she should be.

I too love everything that comes out of William's mouth - he is so funny sometimes (Australia for Austria ).

I think Katherine, Donald, and William will be top 3.

Me too - Stern put us clearly in the "won't watch" category. Who decided he would be a good fit, anyway?

Awhh I think Howard is going to be great. But I don't want to get this thread too off topic. NBC actually tested out audiences who felt like you all do, and after watching some of his judging they changed their minds and even went so far as call him charming. Yeah some of the stuff he does on the radio can be over the top (I still find it hilarious) but he is also insightful, honest and does have a good heart. Some of the best political thoughts I have ever heard came from him. ANd there is no doubt in my mind he is one of the best interviewers in history, hands down. Just this morning, his interview with Sacha Baron Cohen was A-MAZ-ING.


ETA: The really hilarious thing is that some of his wacko hardcore fans are so very upset he is doing a family show like AGT. I guess it works both ways.

I know someone who was a professional ballroom dancer who had retired from the business. He is younger than Tony and older than Mark, Derek, Julianne, so he never met them. About 3-4 years ago he said that Tony was so old for the business, he should have retired already. Tony is only 38 now. So he was thinking Tony should have retired at 34 or even earlier.

So they probably give him all the older women because of that. That he too, is only a participant pro dancer and to old to be a winner.

ITA. DH was saying last night that "nobody is THAT sweet and nice all the time." At first I thought she was cute, with all her "naughty-bits" talk, etc. But now it's the teary-eyed, "thanks so much for voting for me, I never thought I'd make it this far" AGAIN comments that I get tired of.
