I thought they only announced a Dance Off two weeks ago? The alleged incident was around 3-4 weeks ago, I think.

The alleged incident happend on March 30 but didn't get talked or written about until April 2. The earliest mention I could find on the dance duel was April 4, so it was first talked about on the show on April 3. So you could be right.

Tom said they were listening to feedback from viewers, so I think it was probably in the works before the Jaleel incident. It would make sense to start the dance off at the half way point so maybe it was just a coincidence that it happened at the same time.

I doubt we'll ever know for sure. I would like to know some of the details of the contracts the stars sign. I wonder if some stars get a better deal.

I wasn't around for the big Jaleel/Kym/Mark/Girl Friend dust up a couple weeks ago since I was enjoying the Mouse House. I looked it up later and I was skeptical about the reports. I was predisposed to like him and I thought he was a good dancer and the kind of underdog that I root for (for a while ). In addition, Mark said nothing happened publicly and I take the statement of a disgruntled ex-GF in a custody battle with a block of salt. It seemed very coincidental that she came up with the abuse allegations when she did. So, I was thinking that everything was completely blown out of proportion and maybe things were not as bad as the rumors said they were. UNTIL I saw Kym firmly remove Jaleel's hand from her butt and Mark standing with his hands in his pockets. I'm really disappointed that I can't like him anymore .

It's not like I expect her to win. I like her and think she is a classy lady. I just wanted her to be able to have a decent showing before she got the boot. I actually expected her to go LAST week. So I am fine if she goes any time now.
