We will be staying in Alligator Bayou in May. :cool1: Can anyone tell me if we will be able to fit a blow up twin matress in the room (along with the trundle bed)? The kids REALLY don't like to sleep in the same bed. I know it would be really tight, but is it even possible? Thanks

we have a riverview room booked for june. Ihave requested oak manor or parterre place but understand one may be under renovation, so that has to make less river views available???has anyone had riverview and what buildings are considered riverview? I really want mansions so am hoping by paying for riverview i will get one of the mansions. Thanks!

I've stayed in AB and I think one twin mattress would fit easily.
If it were me, I would move the small dining table close to the TV
cabinet, and find other places for the chairs, then place the
inflatable mattress in the area you cleared.

If I recall, the AB beds can be moved as they have legs
(mansions are on pedestals), so you could also try pushing
them together but then you'd have to make room for the
the trundle plus the inflatable mattress?

You could also stick the mattress in the vanity area, LOL!
But, I think you'll do just fine maneuvering the table & chairs around.

Have a great time, we just got back a week ago from the mansions *sigh*.

We have put a twin air mattress in between the beds. We blew it up while it was in the middle of the beds so it form fit in there. We had a small child in there, so it was fine. My kids are so tired when we are at Disney that they would sleep on the hard floor!! LOL!

I know I'm going to sound like a wimp  but here goes, what's the lizard action like? I'm petrified (yes, WIMP) of lizards, one would think I was born in the Carib, and lived in FL for almost 20yrs I'd be somewhat immune to them, but they still make my skin crawl. If they're outside, I'm somewhat (key word somewhat) OK with them, but inside, I'm screaming like a girl! :rotfl2: and a very girly girl at that! Help? :lmao:

Just got back from a week's stay at POFQ and had an amazing time! I loved it so much more than CS last fall.

Going back this fall, I'm sure we will be staying here again! :)

I have to say that I saw very few lizard last October in the AB. I found it soo unusual that I actually mentionned it to dh on the phone when the girls called him good night at night. I was looking forward to showing them to the girls as the LOVE moving creatures. We didn't see any inside of our room either.

Twin matress, I did like the previous poster said, Moved the table and chairs to the vanity area, put the suitcases under the second bed and was able to put a matress there. Picture this, 2 of my girls had a bed, the 3rd one had the inflated matress and in the middle of the night when I got tired of sleeping with one of them, I would move to the truddle bed :rotfl2:

I need the help of all you POR veterans and experts. We have a grand gathering going in early June. We have a total of 5 rooms. Everyone else called and reserved preferred rooms. When I called to upgrade ours (2 rooms) there were no more preferred rooms (unless we wanted to lose our 25% discount, no thanks). So my question is: How close are the standard buildings to the preferred. The CM said that since we are a GG, we will be placed as close as possible to the preferred. Is there a building I should request that would be best? Would it help to upgrade to waterview? That was available. Say for example the preferred part of our party gets put in 18, how close is 16? On the map it doesn't look like 37 and 38 would be all that far from 27. Any ideas or suggestions on requests to make this work out the best it can? I now requests aren't guaranteed. The CMs I spoke to gave me a headache:headache: and I figured I'd get better answers here.

Thanks!

Sorry, I just thought of another question. Are the "preferred" buildings of 14,5,18,27 strictly preferred, or are there also "waterview" categories in those buildings? So if I book waterview, could I then legitimately request a preferred building???:confused3

I wish I had thought to take a pic for this board, but I'm sorry I forgot. We stayed in AB last weekend, but didn't use the trundle because my DD at 5'4" has outgrown it. We always travel with an airbed for her because she sleeps like a starfish, and nobody wants to share a bed with her!:lmao: We put the twin where the trundle should have been, and just tipped it up against sat wall during the day because it was close to the door, and I didn't want to risk it being punctured. We also had a toddler airbed our youngest has slept in since she outgrew travel cribs. That was purchased years ago from One Step Ahead, and has been worth the investment, she's now almost 6 and prefers sleeping there instead of with her oldest sister. We put that bed between the tv and table, we just pushed the table a bit closer to the AC unit. I'm sure with the two extra beds housekeeping thought we were smuggling extra guests, but we were just a family of five. We were in building 26, room 2615, and were very happy with the location. The walk to the main pool, food court and our car were all less than 5 minutes.

I'll make sure to take a pic while we're there. If we can fit all of us in a room, anybody can me (6') DH (5'11) DS-15 (6'3") DD-10 (5') DS-6 (4'6") and DD-2 (don't know how tall, but she's the height of most 4yr olds, lol)

Our 'plan' is 15 on an air mattress (he does this all the time when he has friends over) 10 on trundle, NOBODY wants to sleep w/her, 2 & I on a bed, and DH and 6 on the other bed. Of course none of this will probably happen, but that's my plan!

We're going to look like we're coming out of a clown car in the mornings :rotfl2:

Has anyone seen a mock up of the room refurbs at POR yet? Just curious what they are going to look like.

There have not been any to date.

However, the building permit has been filed for Parterre Place and the contractor was named on the permit. So when they start, hopefully somebody will be able to get some pics.

But nothing officially from Disney, other than that.

We are booked at the POR this September. Since we are a family of 5 will we automatically get a room with a trundle bed, or do we have to ask in advance for that? I didn't specify when booking, just assumed that with 5 in our party we'd be given one with a trundle, now I'm wondering if I have to ask in advance of our arrival or risk being in a room without one.

If you booked the ressie for 5 people then you will automatically be given a room with a trundle. We had one for our Dec trip that included 5 people. :goodvibes

You are guaranteed to be in a room with a trundle bed and guaranteed to be in AB.

Let's face it though, we're still waiting to hear anything official from Disney about even the POFQ refurbished rooms, and there's only one building left to do!

Well, not 100% guaranteed, but about as close as you can get with Disney.

I've heard of families of five being assigned to Magnolia Bend (with a roll-away bed put in the room) when the resort is very busy and they don't have any rooms available in AB. But that's rare.

One way or the other you will all have somewhere to sleep though, don't worry.
