Does anyone know where I can see pictures of the rehab rooms?

Only pics of POFQ rehab rooms are on portorleans.org. We should hopefully see some POR rehab pics in May or June (the rehab is expected to start in April or once POFQ is done).

Thanks I looked at the website but didn't have patience and should of scrolled down! Now that I've had my blond moment of the day.......
Thanks!

Thanks for the responses!!

I posted this on the other page but does anyone know if POR typically sees sporting groups or teen spring break groups at POR in March?

We went last March, stayed at Sports for a night before POP, and sports was overrun with sporting groups. I wouldn't have minded being that I'm 25 and know what it's like to be a teen and on your own but the food court was a disaster and some of the groups would carry on conversations at all hours outside the room doors.
I know in Dec, POP Warner groups stay at POR as overflow I think?

If anyone knows that would be great! I doubt we'd change our mind based on that but it may or may not be a deal breaker for my mom!

I am also curious as to what groups may be staying at POR in March (first week):)

I looked at ESPN WWOS website and based on the info for the sporting groups that might be there in March, it seems that their only resort options were Sports or CBR. Of course they could do their own package but based on what I read, staying at one of those two gets them free shuttles, park tickets, and more so it looks like as far as those sporting groups go, they won't be at POR unless they do their own packages that aren't ESPN WWOS.

The last time I was at WDW was in March '09, we spent a week at POR and we did see some cheerleaders. Never a problem though, until a large group of them decided to practice their cheers in front of our building (Magnolia in the Mansions, we had a room facing the river/courtyard/water fountain). This was around 7:00 p.m. and the noise went on for about an hour. I know it was early, but it was still kind of annoying hearing it for so long.

I remember reading something about a pirate adventure cruise that took place at Port Orleans, but I can't find it on the Disney website. Does anyone know if it still exists, and how I can find out more about it?

Yes it still exists at POR. I don't known whether the Disney website lists it in any detail, but I do know of a site that does, LOL....... www.portorleans.org/recreation.php

We have always stayed at Magnolia Terrace - it's our favourite building. But now I see that it's a 'preferred building' and you have to pay extra.

Does this mean we cannot request it anymore at all if we aren't paying the extra? I suppose not.

In that case, can anyone tell me their experiences of Acadian House and Parterre Place? Any pros and cons? Thanks :)

I did not see that Magnolia was a preferred building when we booked our January trip back in October, and I just called POR on Tuesday to make my room requests, and requested to be on the third floor of either Magnolia or Oak and the CM I spoke to did not say Magnolia was a preferred building. I'll find out in a couple of days when we check in.

not sure if anyone would be interested in this but there is a free swap at port orleans for anyone staying at the port orleans resorts (both french quarter and riverside). please check out the link below in my signature if intrested.

Not a POR-specific question, but I'm now 10 days away from WDW (:yay:) but I haven't received my Magical Express documents yet. I don't recall it taking this long before.

Should I contact Disney just to make sure the docs weren't sent but lost in the mail?

Yes, I would; I have always received mine at about 45 days out.

Where did you see that?

Andre

I would like to know too; on the Disney website, it posts only the AB buildings.

When I made my ressie for Oak Manor, I was told none of the mansions are listed as preferred.

I found it - it is on Mouse Planet, but they are referring to which rooms they prefer to stay in and it is Magnolia Terrace. It looks like they haven't caught the fact that what they are saying can now be confused at the preferred room category. I tried to e-mail him; it is not really an error, it is just the way he worded it, some people who are unfamiliar with the resort could get really confused.

Unfortunately I keep getting an error when trying to connect to his "contact us" link.

Yes. This happened to me once and they had made a mistake. I can't remember how it was fixed, but they took care of it.

I just got off the phone with Disney and they've fixed the problem. I should now expect the ME docs within the next few days.

Andre - I was able to e-mail Mouseplanet and said while some (like myself) would understand that they are saying that Magnolia Terrace is a preferable place to stay, using the word "preferred" now would be causing more confusion than not to many who have not stayed there before - now with the new category of "preferred".

Hopefully, they will contact me and let me know they fixed it.
