Are all of Buildings 14, 15, 18 and 27 going to be considered preferred or just parts of those buildings? I know just parts of the buildings at the Values are preferred so I thought I would ask.
Our upcoming trip will be our first time staying at Riverside so I thought I'd better find out!!

Thanks for any info!! :thumbsup2

I'm wondering what is my best plan for getting to ESPN on our arrival day. We don't get into MCO till 6:15pm. We are taking DME to the resort. Then we wanted to go check out ESPN for a late dinner/snack.

What is the best plan for the least amount of travel time with out calling a cab. TIA

PS very excited my first stay at a MOD....

The preferred room option starts next year, along with a "river" as well as the current just "water" view option.

Does this mean that if I request a room in Magnolia Terrace or Oak Manor, there is a fee for the entire building?

There's no very quick way. You could walk through Epcot if you have unlimited entrance tickets, but without entering a park I'd suggest getting a bus to Studios and then getting a Friendship ferry boat from outside that park over to the Boardwalk. Or if it's getting later in the evening (such as when you head back to the resort) use Downtown Disney as a hub to change buses.

In addition, if you get there after a game has already started, don't expect to get in.

We arrived the Saturday after Thanksgiving and had dinners ressies at Kouzzina's at 6:30 pm. There was a waiting line out the door, probably with 50 - 60 people in it.

Do they still do the campfires on the bayou? Unless I am looking at the wrong place the last update was in 08/09 on portorleans.org . I know I have a lot of time left, just trying to make sure I leave nights available :) TIA

Thanks for the info. I was thinking of letting DH go over on superbowl sunday. If it is packed on a regular day I can only imagine what that day is like :scared1:

Do you think they will play the game in the bar at POR?

Yes, they will play it in the Lounge at POR, but it will also be packed. He should get there early.

To get a seat at ESPN on Super Bowl Sunday, he would have to be "tail-gating" at the door at 8:00 am..... seriously.

I haven't seen anything updated for this year...... it is something you can do on the spur of the moment.

Wow!! It's not the first time I have said it and I am sure it won't be the last, but thank goodness for the dis!! I made reservations at HOB and figured he could just go over to ESPN after that. Guess not!

Can he order dinner at the bar? Can he eat food court food there? Thanks for all the info! :worship:

No, why would there be?

OK, thanks! Just wanted to clarify, since a few of the entire AB buildings are considered "preferred" (14, 15, 18, and 27). I wasn't sure if the entire buildings of Magnolia Terrace or Oak Manor might be considered as "preferred" too, because of their location.

He can order snacks at the bar and bring the food over from the food court if he wishes. He can get regular meals or "grab 'n go."

IMHO - POR has the second best food court, with the exception of POP. And it is open until 11:00 pm.

I don't think we are really going to know until some of us start staying there.

I booked preferred for Oak Manor for next Nov./Dec. I "requested" water view. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

If you look at the map, the one end wing of Partarre Place is actually closer than the back part of Oak Manor.

Adding to my above post: I'm now being told that Magnolia Terrace or Oak Manor are considered "preferred" buildings for 2011, so unless I book as "preferred" (not just request), there is no chance I will get a room in either of these mansions. I'm really confused. :confused3

Interesting. Personally I wouldn't count some of the furthest parts of Oak as "preferred" locations at all, so I wonder if perhaps only some sections are included? It's all a bit guesswork at the moment, and Disney aren't helping to alleviate the confusion very much.
