how does it work taking a stroller on the shuttle between POR and DTD? can she stay in her stroller or will we need to take her out? Thanks.

Noelle

Usually the bus drivers ask you to take the kids out of the strollers on the buses.

No, you will need to fold your stroller on the buses. You may be allowed to keep it unfolded on the boats though, depending on how busy they are.

We are thinking of planning a trip & staying at POR in May.
How is the boat from POR to DTD?
We have used the boat many times from POFQ..only once was it so busy that we had to wait for the next one..which got me wondering about POR as it is a much bigger resort, do they run more boats more often? Any problems with long waits?
I love to take the boat..it is such a nice relaxing ride!

How deep is the pool at POR? The main pool and/or the kiddie pool? Thanks, Dana

I've got all the details in the POR Pools page at my site, but basically the main pool goes from 3ft to 5ft, as do the two quiet pools in Magnolia Bend. The quiet pools in the Alligator Bayou section go up to 6ft at their deepest.

The boat is just as relaxing from POR :) The downside to taking the boat from POR is that there are can be more people waiting for the boat. One afternoon I had to wait for the third or fourth boat. I learned then that they start to add additional boats at like 4:00 or so to accommodate the larger crowds heading to DTD in the late afternoon and evening (I had gotten in line about half an hour before they ran additional boats.) They also save about 10 seats - for guests staying at POFQ. The boats stop there before heading to DTD. It is well worth the wait.
Hope this helps! POR is a great choice.

Yes, after 4pm the boat schedule changes from every 20 minutes to every 10 minutes, presumably to accommodate all the folks wanting to go to DTD for the evening after spending time at the parks.

We have 3 adults in our room. Does POFQ offer/permit roll-away beds? This would just make us more comfortable.
Thanks!
Gayle

Having been 3 times here with my 2 brothers (all 3 of us in our 40's) we have been told on check in no rollaways for adults. Someone else in another thread pointed out they seem to offer rollaways in the Alligator Bauyou section but really just aimed at children under a certain age.

We take one of these inflatable matresses for one to sleep on with the top blanket from one of the beds as his blanket , works fine for us.

We are planning a December trip and I was wondering if the room with the trundle bed will be big enough for 4 adults and an 11 year old boy?:confused3
It would save $$ to all share a room...any thoughts??
thanks!

Well you'd all fit, but how well do you get on with each other? You do get two wash sinks, but only one bath/shower...

Another question (sorry if this has been asked) - are there elevators in the Magnolia Bend mansions? If not, will they help with luggage if you're on an upper floor?

The Mansions section does have elevators. Alligator Bayou does not.

The elevators are right in the middle of each of the mansion buildings though, so head there with your bags first, rather than going to the nearest part of the building to your room. There are floor plans of each of the mansion buildings on my website if you want to check the layout.

I am not sure how this slipped my mind but I am wondering about how to get milk in the room for bedtime. My DD is 1 and still takes a bottle of milk at bedtime. Do they have half gallons or something like that in the dining hall or will I have to buy a single serving everyday? Maybe I could buy a couple half gallons at the airport before we check in as we are using ME and can't stop at the store.

A half gallon would barely fit in the fridge, so I wouldn't bother buying two.

You can get single size milk containers at the food court; and I think there are some larger sizes at the gift shop - but I am not a milk drinker, so I never look for it.

I don't think the airport sells half gallons of milk, but I'm not sure.

The last time we were at POR, the resort store sold half gallons of whole milk and quarts of other types (2% IIRC). The half gallons did fit in the door of the refridgerator. Now we did notice that the container sizes and milk types varied from our previous visit. In other words, you may experience something completely different than us.
