What Building has the best view and nicest walk to the Main Building. We stay (the last time at POR) at building 14 In the Ab. I want to get a peffered room with a river view and a nice walk to and from the main building.I think It would be a grerat way to start the Morining off with a cup of coffie outside, and a lovely sunrise walk to the bus stop. At night even after a long day In the park(if we have the energy:rotfl2:) takeing night time walk back to the room. S If any one know any options thanks:goodvibes

I am slowly making my way through this thread so forgive me if this question has already been addressed!

We just decided to do a trip in May with the special offer! I am trying to make dining plans already since the window is open. This will be our first time at POR so I am curious about the boats to and from downtown disney. How early / late do they run? For example if we had dinner at Sanaa then took the bus from AKL to DTD and arrived about 9PM, would it be too late to take a boat back to POR? or from MK to DTD after dinner at Ohana? Also, we were hoping to have breakfast at DTD once. Do the boats run early?

We stayed at the Beach Club last May and my kids loved the boat to DS (we walked to Epcot) and we also took the boat from MK to WL for dinner one night. As far as they are concerned the boats, monorail, and even the bus are all very fun for them (except the buses at park closing -lol:scared1:), but they LOVE the boats the best. So I just want to take advantage of the boat ride as often as we can!

Thanks!

The rivercruise service linking Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter and Downtown Disney commences at 10am daily. The service runs approximately every 20 minutes until 4:30pm, and then every 10 minutes until 11pm.

We've decided to try POR for our vacation in 2011. The size of the resort doesn't bother me as we've stayed at CBR before and we are just looking for something different. I'll have 2 teenagers by the time we go again and I'm just wondering if this will be a good resort for them? Seems like there's tons to do, but you never quite know with teenagers. Any feedback would be great.

My DD (16) likes it. So much so that when I was planning on where to stay for our last trip, she asked to stay there so we could go see Yehaa Bob at River Roost. Your teens should enjoy it as his show is fun for everyone.

We'll be arriving on Friday for a long weekend and of course I'm counting the days. We haven't stayed at Riverside since 2001 when it was still Dixie Landings.

Help me get excited about the trip and tell me about all the fun things that I can do. Its just me and DH looking for a nice relaxing trip in the warm weather.

I haven't read through the whole thread yet but is the room ok fo 3 adults and 2 kids? We don't spend that much time at the resorts but was wondering about the sleeping situation. My mom is going with us so she will have one of the beds. One of the kids will sleep with her and the other in the trundle. DH and myself in the other. I am worried because they are only full size beds. Thanks for your help.

You should be fine as long as you all get on well together and can manage your shower times/etc; there are two sinks outside the bathroom itself, which helps a lot. The trundle bed is slightly smaller than an ordinary bed, so only really ideal for up to 10 years or so, or for a smaller adult.

As far as the beds 'only' being Double beds... well, double beds are so called because they designed to sleep two people, and they do seem to work fine for us. I can't see it being a problem for anyone other than those of a 'slightly larger stature', who may prefer Queen/King beds.

We're leaving tonight, and I'm so excited! We're bringing our own ground coffee, should we also bring filters or do they have filters in the room?

I brought my own ground coffee and couldn't use it because the coffee maker uses those little coffee bags all in one. Their were no filters and the size you would need would be very small. Just a heads up!:)

I am Danceing wo-ho:dance3:,just switched our resvervation from POP(but in truth I am a little sad:sad2:)for our July trip the 4th to thew 10th to POR riverside and added the!! 7 day park hopper with the delux dinning plus plan package, with a water view. I requested Bldg# 27 because Its the closest to a smokeing section(sorry ahead of time to the non smokers:)) we have not been there since 2006 so how far away Is #27 from the main Bldg, any changes? I can not wait!!

So excited that we just booked our trip at POR! We have never stayed there before so we are really looking forward to it.

Just booked a 5 night stay at Riverside Feb.15th-19th. First time staying here, and we are so excited Me, hubby, DS9 and DD5. Was wondering what the closest non-preferred room would be if anyone knows?

There are no 'preferred' rooms at Port Orleans, only water-view or standard-view. The closest non-waterview room would be in Alligator Bayou lodge 14, about 50 yards from the food court door.

See you there! LOL

does the rooms have wi fi access?,I could not find any answers:confused3

No, just wired internet at a cost of $9.95 per 24-hour period, starting from when you confirm that you want access via your broswer. You could get two seperate days use of course; if you logged on one evening then you would get access until the same time the following evening.
