When I look for photos I go to allearsnet.com, they have some pretty good ones. I believe there may also be photos on AndreWilley's site, you'll have to scroll back to one of his posts for the link.

I have also stayed at both CSR, POR and POFQ -- If your son has his heart set on the CSR slide, he will be disappointed by the POR and POFQ slides. Just not as dramatic. I actually prefer POR/POFQ for a child his age because of the boat ride to DTD, and the easy access to everything there. You've already stayed at CSR so I won't comment on that food court, but I will say POR is much easier to understand, and I find the food to be delicious. I think the resorts are comparable as far as asthetics -- both have beautiful grounds and comfortable rooms.

Thanks Maria. I am thinking for Christmas it may be a better holiday resort. We have stayed at CSR during the holidays before and I do not not feel like it is Christmas is in the resort. I like the food court as CSR to be honest. But my son is interested in fishing, the campfire, I read somewhere they have santa at the POR. Weather permitting we will do one day at blizzard beach. CSR does not have childrens activities like other resorts do. I am just nervous more about the buses and I have read complaints that the rooms are old and not comfortable. CSR has the most comfortable beds since their remodel. I called DW today and they said the offer still stands and I can think about it. Apparently CSR is booked the days I am going Dec 15 to 20.

I showed him pictures and he wants to switch resorts so Riverside here we come! I am looking forward to trying a new resort! We enjoyed POR FQ so I am sure we will enjoy staying here too!

Just booked our mid April vacation at Riverside, the wife can't wait :cheer2:.

We stayed at POFQ two years ago in April and loved the fact we could catch a relaxing ride to DD and POR offers the same and allowed us to stay somewhere different. Put in a request to stay at Oak Manor.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for all the useful info :disrocks:

Yeah DH and I just made our reservations for March 2010. We had no plans to go back this year (I'd go 100 times a year if I could, lol), but I just couldn't pass up the buy 4 nights get 3 free deal.

This will be our 2nd stay at POR, the first was in October 2006 for our honeymoon and we loved it! Can't wait until March comes. :thumbsup2

Don't wait too long to sign up the Full is almost well, full! The massage was well worth the wait for me. I couldn't believe the difference in my comfort :lovestruc

Well, I did a half yesterday and it was my fastest ever. I felt fine all day yesterday but of course am SO sore today! I think I will definitely take advantage of the massage. :) The marathon is 94% full - I think I'll sign up this week.

But, the sad news is that we had to switch resorts. :( The friend I am going with didn't call in time to take advantage of the good rates I got so now we are back to a value. Oh well, I've never tried a value, I guess a quick weekend trip is the perfect time to try. But I'm going to miss the grounds at POR and the food court!!

I apologize if this has been asked already, but I did a search and nothing came up.

Is there a toaster in the food court? We were thinking about ordering bagels for the room and would like to have a way to toast them.

Thanks!!!!

There is a toaster in the food court, but I've never used it. It's against the wall on the way to the restrooms. It's one of those institutional types with a metal belt.

I just completed online check-in for our first stay here. We check in on Nov. 28th. :)

We check in on the 28th of Nov. too. DD just did the online check-in. We are excited to hopefully be staying in the Mansions. :woohoo:This is our first visit to this resort. The last of the moderates we haven't stayed in.

We are a group of 5, so I expect to be in the Bayou section. This will actually be my first visit to a moderate, I've stayed at the All Star Sports, the Wilderness Lodge and the Dolphin. I really expect that we'll all love it here!!

tomorrow:goodvibes

not packed yet, why am i here slacking:rolleyes1

We are leaving on the 15th. I am suppose to be packing today. It is not going so well! LOL! Total slacker here. I am holding out for the 10 day weather report!

We're back!!

I did like Riverside, but I'll probably not be back. It was so huge, it took us a long time to get oriented! If I were to stay at a moderate again, I'd choose the French Quarter, mostly because it's so much smaller.

We loved the pool, it was definitely warm enough. It was great to see steam rising from the water!

Yeehaw Bob was fantastic. I had to convince my daughter that it would be worth the walk to see him-she was very footsore and grumbled on the walk over. But she agreed that yes, it was worth it!!

I'd only return to Riverside again if we are again a party of 5. My heart belongs to the Wilderness Lodge, I'm afraid!! :) But, I would try to go to see Bob perform again.
