Figaro8398: Thanks for clearing that up. We haven't done online checkin for our trip starting this Sunday - but if that was something we would learn - I was ready to check-in.

We go on Sunday also!

Sorry I just now saw your question. We're there from June 27th to July 3rd. Our first trip! I'm so excited.

How early does the boat from DTD run? I am switching resorts from ASSp for 1 night to the next 5 nights at POR. Could I do this early (before heading to MK for the day) or does the boat start at a later time.

I was planning on taking the bus from ASSp to DTD and then catching the boat to POR so I can check-in and head to the parks.

Boat to/from DTD starts at 10am at the moment. You could change via bus at a park much earlier though.

Well, we're just finalizing the details with my TA, but I'm coming back to POR for the third straight time and the third time in 3 years.

Every time, I think about going somewhere else... but I end up back at Riverside. We looked at Coronado, but since I'm traveling with my best friend (another female), we really wanted two sinks. We looked the the Pirate rooms at CBR, but decided we'd rather save the money for something else.

The first time, she and I stayed in one of the mansions. The second time, my husband and I stayed in AB. I can honestly say that I do not have a preference. It's a beautiful resort, no matter where I end up!!

Here are links to a few of my favorite pictures (taken on a chilly January morning!):

Anyway, as I'm home recovering from knee surgery and my boss turned down my time off request for my annual concert trip, planning this trip has kind of been my bright spot! :)

sarbah77, your photos of the steam rising off the river are simply beautiful! We were also there in January 2009, perhaps even the same time.

I'm going to miss POR this November, but I'm footing a partial amount of the bill for my mom so we are trying a value resort. I'm sure we'll stop by POR just to ride the ferry boat.

Thank you!! :)

If I remember correctly, we either overlapped or came very close - we were there the week of the marathon. It was c-c-c-cold but not as bad as home!!

I'd love, honestly, to try a value resort and save some cash, especially for weekend trips but my friend doesn't want to. I think next time my husband and I go back, we're aiming for an Epcot resort deluxe for the convenience! We were pretty tired of waiting so long to get anywhere but DTD by the end of the trip!

I have a rather obscure question to ask. Does POR have little individual honeys near the drinks fountain? POP has them and I make up a honey and lemon drink daily for my health and know there is lemon wedges but wasn't sure on the honey. Just so I know if I have to carry a bottle about with me.

Thanks in advance.

For some reason, I'm picturing actual squeeze bottles of honey but I fully admit I could be making this up, since I've traveled a few times since I was last there!

Just back from out first POR stay!:thumbsup2

I did the Online check in thing. I must say it is a bit of a confusing concept at the POR.

When you arrive at POR you have to get on the same line as regular Checkin. Sort of defeats the purpose. However there is a seperate window for Online checkin. It is all the way in the back of the Hall.
However when the On Line Check In Window is empty, they didnt call "Next". (this happened to me & someone else I was talking too at the POR). You pretty much have to pass everyone in line ("Excuse me", Excuse me:) and hopefully none of them are waiting for Online check In window, and not paying attention.

The setup is problematic, so be aware.:confused3

Anyhooooooo Once I got to the window they verified my CC info I gave online. Handed me a map to the area our room will be "most likely in". (the room wasnt ready yet). Got our cards and went off to the parks.

Not any great time savings, and certainly not useful if you want a "better room". We were all the way in the back in Section 35 Alligator Bayou. I had a car, so it was no big deal. :3dglasses

We are booked for our first stay at POR and I'm so excited. We will be staying for two nights and doing MNSSHP before heading out on the 7 day cruise. We are a family of 5 and our youngest is now too old to be in a room for four, so this was a nice option for us. I've read through this entire thread and I can't wait to get there, all the pictures are wonderful!

We're staying at POR for the first time in October. Can anyone tell me how long it takes approximately to get to each park on the bus. Thanks in advance.:)

have you been able to get one room for 5? - we stayed last year and there wasnt a problem getting 5 of us into one room (my kids were 11,13 and 6) - tried to book for august next year and have been told by reservations that the room cannot sleep 5?, many thanks

Who are you trying to book with - not Disney UK, or other UK travel agent, is it? If so, try booking with Disney US or a specialist travel agent, they'll be happy to take your booking.
