Just double checking, we will be at POR for the Christmas holiday :santa: and I need to send a package to myself. Is this the correct address?

Disney's Port Orleans-Riverside Resort
Guest: My name Arriving 12/24/08 Res#:XXXX
1251 Riverside Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

Is this how everyone does it? I tried to do a search, but it wasn't working. Thanks!

I wanted to know the answer to this one as well. I wanted to send some diapers ahead so I will have them :thumbsup2

I've used the resort address in the past too, it works fine. However the official Disney advice states:

(from www.portorleans.org?sub_rec_services.htm)
If you want to send letters or packages, Disney recommends you use the following central postal address:

Guest or Party Name (with Room Number if known, otherwise check-in date)
c/o Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside / French Quarter
Post Office Box 10,000
Lake Buena Vista
Florida 32830-1000
USA

If the delivery is for a guest not listed on the reservation, use the name of the primary guest on the reservation. If the guest has not yet checked in, the mail will be held for them.

Why they prefer using a central address rather than the resort's road address I don't know.

We just booked POR for November 28 to December 6, 2009 in water view room. We requested building 14 in AB to be close to the food court due to my Moms severe Arthritis.

Will anyone be there at the same time?

Just back yesterday from a 5 day stay. We were in Acadian Mansion room 8420 on the 3rd floor, facing the island but the view from the balcony was partially blocked by a tree so the clear view was more up the walkway towards the AB room. Still beautiful. Some of the trees still have red, yellow, and brown colors to them, which adds quite a bit of charm. We had a king room - plenty of space, nice decor, etc.

Our only issues were with pop warner people - a group of young cheerleaders out late making lots of noise on Sunday night and then a group of ADULTS from one of the football teams from California out on the balcony of our building past 12:30 AM on Monday night drinking beer and wine, mostly drunk, yelling, talking loudly, laughing, running around (with kids amongst them even at the late hour), calling each other foul names, and being general nuisances. We had to call security three times before they were finally dispersed and quieted down for the night. We will be contacting both Disney at the Pop Warner organization to complain. We shouldn't have to be subjected to that sort of thing while paying full price for a room (even though we are pass holders and Florida residents).

We love POR and will gladly stay there again in the future - but not during pop warner week ever again unless changes are made. If we find ourselves planning a trip during pw week in the future we will stay at a different resort. (They are not a problem in the parks - hardly see any at all, and mostly in small groups - besides, noise in the parks during the day is different than noise at the resort at midnight).

Got some nice pictures - still sorting through the 2,300 photos I took - but once I have them up on Flickr I'll post some, including a great sunrise on Saturday from the marina area.

I understand that security is at a minimum in the resorts these days with one guard covering an entire resort. This is unacceptable to me. A friend had a similar occurrance in October at POFQ and they had to call the real police force to quiet down the drunks. (Which were not from Pop warner but a corporate group.) Disney needs to know we expect a reasonable amount of security in their resorts.

Our next call was going to be the real police.

That or else I was going to go out on the balcony with one of the room chairs and start swinging. ;)

Thats good because If you had chose to start swinging you would have scoop to there level:scared1:,we have conntrol thats what sepreats us from them If we allow our selfs to take it to there level then were no better. If there Is no security around and the police can not get there, and nobody Is getting hurt let the resort Mangment worry about it. Let them make selfs look like fools.:goodvibes

We'll be checking in for our first stay at POR this Saturday.

One quick question, do the rooms have the mini fridges like the deluxes do?

Yes there are fridges but you may need to turn up the coolness :)

Nice to see someone with a thread for my favorite resort. Maybe you can build it up and give Buzz and his CSR site a run for his money.:rotfl:

I am back from my first stay at POR Riverside. We were in building 38 in the Alligator Bayou section. We loved our room!! But I was disappointed in the rest of the resort. The pool area was very dark. We did not like the food choices at the food court. The grounds were not as pretty as I thought but that could be because it was Dec and not as green as other times of the year. Plus I have discovered that I like it to be more open, too much vegetation there I guess. If we ever stayed again I would stay in the Mansions. However DH liked it more than I did. Funny that I didn't care for it because we are outdoors people.
We walked over to French Quarter and I thought it was bright and pretty there. Liked the food court menus better. I would not mind staying at the French Quarter
No issues with the buses at all. Longest wait was maybe 10 minutes and always had a seat (except a couple of nights after park closings). We used the North Depot most of the time.
No issues with Pop Warner either. Each day we saw groups of cheerleaders leaving so most must leave once they get eliminated. I really do not remember seeing them at the parks much either.
If I can answer any questions I will try.

Main-Iac, sorry to here that your experince did not turn out so great.Just because others Including my self like It does not mean it appeals to every one.The overgrowth semees what I like the most about it:rotfl2: ,were at pop(were we will be at In March) Its just the oppoist. Its so loud and In your face, and thats what we love about that so It just depends on what really you like.

I loved Pop. I loved the theme and all of the colors. I was there during an uncrowded time so that may have made a difference.
But get this........The place I want to stay at most of all is WL. I just love visiting there. I guess I am a little wacky.;)

It's funny you say that, the thing that attracted me to PO:R this time was the lush vegitation. We seriously thought about POP but it looked too barren, Esp. around the pools. Even as much as I liked CSR, I thought that I would have liked a bit more. Maybe I need Wilderness:lmao: Sorry you didn't like it much, but it sounds great to me.

I think it was too lush because that is all you could see at Alligator Bayou but hey that is what a Bayou is like right? I guess I like to walk out my door and see the resort that I am staying at instead of just trees and bushes. (we did have a river view) I did like the Mansion side better. That is what is so great about WDW, it has something for everyone's individual taste. Like I said DH liked it.

How are the rooms in Alligator Bayou numbered? What is there system for building #, floor, room? Since I will be beyond excited at arrival, I tend not to absorb what the CM is telling me. (I get the important stuff regarding $, just not the mundane details like the details of where my room is located and how to get there, good thing I get map with the room # written on it:thumbsup2 , but even that takes me longer than normal to decipher).

The vegetation and privacy is what my husband and I loved about the resort. He said he wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! I don't know what we're going to do when our baby is 3 and we can't go there anymore because our family size will be too big!
