Question about bus stops: For the first pick up at POR is it the South Depot or the West Depot? I do realize that at times the buses pick up at POFQ first. Our visit will be in June 2009 if that matters on bus routes.

All of the above lol. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason while we were there, we had buses start at all of the above mentioned stops. So :confused3

Looking at staying at this resort again, in Feb. 2009!:thumbsup2 LOVED the Mansions!;)

Almost most of the time they will pick up at POFQ frist, when its really busy the will send sepreat buses. I do not know west and south but I know they pick up at the main entrance and the work clock wise around, hope this helps

I just recently changed from All-Star Music to this hotel, I'm going Dec 22-Dec 31st and then change over to Caribbean Beach Resort.
I paid for Water View, my concern is I read in a different forum that someone else had a water view but it was just barely (To the left of view) of the pool. Has anyone else had this problem? If I'm paying for Water view I expect a full view. Should I change to standard if this is the case? I'd prefer a view of lake and not pool. Should I call and tell them this?
Thanks

Thanks I'll give them a call tomorrow night. I just don't wanna pay extra for a water view and can only see it out of corner of my eye, that's not a view that's an eye strain.:lmao:

POR does not have a lake but a river, so get them to add "full river view" or something similar as a request to your booking.

What time of day are you arriving, as this is a very busy period. The earlier you get, there the better your chance of getting them to allocate you to a different room if you're not happy with what they initially give you. Don't be afraid to 'haggle' a bit at the front desk. :)

I agree, the earlier in the day you arrive, you tend to get your requests. I usually arrive about 11:30 am and have always been granted my requests.

We get in the airport around 10:15 a.m. so I figure we will be at the hotel hopefuly by 11:30 (we have lunch ressies at Planet Hollywood at 12:45 does this seem doable??)

I have also paid for a water view and request either 14/18 AB or Magnolia - hopefully our arrival is early enough to haggle a bit if we didn't get our requests corner water view would be spectacular!!

Question for your repeat visitors- what time do we have to be back for ME on the check out day if our flight out is 7 p.m.?

we do AK the last day but I am wondering what time we need to be back at POR- and leave AK in order to make the time cut off?

anyone know?

thanks so much

We are there Dec 25 - Jan 2 so excited to be going at Christmas. Are we going to be cramped for space. 3 "Kids" 14, 12, and 10. We stayed here when kids were little but not since last stay was at value with 2 rooms. DVC (SOLD IT) before that. Don't know what to do.

Well, it's two double beds, so everyone is going to have to share a bed. My kids can handle it because they're twins and occasionally still sleep together at home.....but thinking back to my own growing up years with an older brother and young sister.....we'd have rather slept on the floor or even outside rather then sleep with "them". :rotfl2:

But...hey, it's vacation and if you give them the option of sleeping in the same bed without fighting or going to Aunt Edna's for vacation....well, I'm sure they'll be just fine.

You should be fine there. With two adults and three kids they will put you in the AB section, so you will have a trundle bed for the youngest one. The rooms are well laid out, and there is more space than you might think! On my first trip we stayed at POR and were given a room with a trundle, and my boys fought over who got to sleep there. Enjoy your stay! :)

Thanks, I'll be checking in around 10:30-11:00 so hopefully I'll get a full river view. I'll call them tonight so they have a record of my request and then I'll see what happens when I'm there.

Considering a trip in Dec. to Riverside. This will be our frist trip and we landed at this moderate resort based on family size of 5. Looks like we'll love it here but I have a few questions:
--which AB building would you recommend for us?
I'd love to be close to any non-crowded bus stop...close to a pool (any pool is fine-we can swim in Dec. Can't we??)...close to restaurants...and somewhat quiet. Looking at the maps is helpful but not as helpful as hearing from those who have BTDT. Thanks so much!

They've just done some superficial stuff (re-sealed and painted the food court roofing, done work on the drinks dispenser area) plus replaced the aircons units too, but I don't know of anything specific major in the pipeline.
