i would like to stay close to a food source!!! kids will ask about 100 times a day for something to drink. just like last time! HA HA!
would like to stay close to pools and the bus.. nice views?
Asking a lot aren't i?!?!? Geez. i should just be happy we are going back to Disney!!! :rolleyes1:
i've seen the outside of Orleans never been inside so i know NOTHING! but have been studying the maps! im that obsessive...
thank you everyone!!!!

Building 14 is close to the food and a bus stop. It is the first stop so better for crowded buses. If the bus is full in the am it goes straight to the parks without going by the other stops. The bus stop is easy to get to from 14, you come up behind it and use the main stop at the main building. You can see on the map how to get to it from the back way. :)

I have heard all over these boards that the bus stop closest to the lobby is the first stop.

That was not my experience at all. Out of all the parks and DTD the only bus that stopped their first was the Epcot bus.

Every other bus stopped at our stop(West Depot) first. I was certainly surprised as this went against everything I had heard on the Disboards.

Hi everyone! I'm planning an Oct. 11 trip with myself, DH, 2.5yo DD, my parents, my brother & his gf. It'll be DD and my brother's girlfriend's first trip to Disney!

We're going to be booking a moderate resort and right now are debating between POR and CBR (we've done POFQ in the past & love it but want some variety).

DD will be 2.5 yo at the time of our trip and it will be the first time we've traveled or vacationed with her. So I'm kind of clueless (and nervous!) about how it's all going to work out.

I read the the rooms in AB have a trundle bed, which would be a absolute best option for us. DD is still in a crib right now (she'll be two on 12/31) but I'm assuming will probably be in a toddler bed by the tie of our trip. I worry about her safety and ability to sleep in a regular bed and would be much more comfortable if she's in something low to the ground.

Is there anyway to reserve a room w/ trundle bed without having a 5 person room reservation? Or will it just be treated as a request and I have to cross my fingers that it'll work?

I worry about the ability to have any of our room requests filled because our flight won't be in until late afternoon so we won't be one of the first to check in.

Thanks!

You are only guaranteed a room in AB if you are considered 5 in your party. You can request it, but it is only a request.

They do have bed rails you can request. We just got back a few days ago and had 2 bedrails. The bedrails are quite tall so unless she rolled off the end of the bed they would work.

Oh FABULOUS! Thanks so much for that info. Are they available for request in any resort & is there a fee for them?

I'm the type that has to plan everything out very specifically and quite far in advance... and not knowing what DD is able to do, how long she'll be able to do it, what she'll like, what she'll hate, etc. is stressing me out, lol!

Welcome to motherhood! My d is 21, and I still don't know! :lmao:

Hi, does anyone know when the refurbs are set to begin and a projected end date? We are going mid September so I am trying to figure out our chances of getting a refurbed room. TIA!

Projected start dates for POR are April 2011 going through the fall.

I talked to the Superintendent two weeks ago, while they were working on POFQ and he said the renovations there were going on-schedule, so the April date would be about right.

Andre, I just wanted to thank you and everyone who contributes to this thread for recommending POR. We stayed there from 11/28 thru 12/5 and absolutely loved it, far more than CSR last February. I'll be posting our trip in it's entirety when I have the time, but wanted to be sure to at least post my thanks for now. :)

And, btw, for anyone who has seen scary things about the check-in process, or problems with the room keys, we had ZERO issues and were even able to get duplicate KTTWs for all four of my family members from another resort after leaving our original ones in the room that morning (which we realized when we went to pay for our breakfast at Boma). :scared1: This, apparently, is a capability of the new system in place and would not have been possible one week prior (according to the CM). This isn't an exclusive feature of POR, of course, but did impress us and make us feel like Disney had our backs. :thumbsup2

Anyway, thanks again. POR is now our Disney home away from home.

Unless he's on vacation, Bob is always at the Port Wednesday thru Saturday evenings.

Why not email him and ask about your dates? I'm sure he'll let you know, his email address is on the frontpage of his website, www.yehaabob.com.

Andre

I read through the first 30 pages, then the last 10, and didn't see an answer to my question (apologies if I missed it...).

I've booked a king bed room for my stay in Feb. I'm a bath lover :cloud9:, so wondering if any of the king rooms will have a tub, or if they're all HA rooms with roll-in showers. I'm gonna have a great time either way, but just a bit curious...

I had a king room this time and a few years ago. I just happen to get them because usually I travel alone.

Both had tubs. They will reserve the h.c. rooms first for someone who requests the h.c. type. I have yet to be put in a king room with the h.c. shower.
