We've been in AB 14 twice with just 2 of us - once the first weekend in Feb and once the first week of May.

Good luck..and be sure to ask the CM at check-in to try to find a room near the food court for you. (Parterre Place,in the Mansions on the lake side, is also very nice, right near the bridge).

Have a wonderful trip!! :goodvibes

:cool1:  :yay: :yay: We will be at POR in only 10 more days!! We have a family of five so we are headed to AB too! We put in a request for building 14, 15, 18 or 27.....we would be happy with either of those!

Hope everyone has a GREAT time!!!!

So, the reason I'm asking is that someone posted that they could not book for a 5 person family from the UK because the CMs told them that the trundles were being taken away. (Sorry if this was posted before) We have actually booked 6 people (including a 4 yr old and infant) for Oct. We have requested a trundle AND pack n play at AB. I thought maybe someone at POR or soon to be there could ask the front desk if they are taking these away? Thanks for any info. I know Andre or someone else on this thread can help. :worship: :thumbsup2

what area/building do all the POR experts recommend for a grand gathering w/a baby in a stroller, an elderly lady in a wheelchair, hoping for close proximity to a bus stop/the main pool/foodcourt...

i like the location of building 85/magnolia... am i missing something?

I hope this not true. We are a family of 5 and we are booked there in Dec.

Hello!!! We arrive in 7 days and will be staying in Alligator Bayou. Can't answer your question about the Mansions or AB because we are a family of five and always stay in AB. Just wanted to say hello, and maybe you'll hear us coming... I have 3 VERY EXCITED daughters. On Sunday we found out that the lady who my MIL(79 w/ alzheimers) was going to stay with is sick and went to stay with family and cannot take her in!!! Was going to have to cancel 11 days out. Girls were CRUSHED!!! My BIL stepped up and agreed to have her stay with him for half a week and then she is off to stay with her other dear friend. Not sure what I would do without them. I really need a break and this the best news yet!!! (just found out last night, after we told the kids trip was off).

Awesome! You deserve a break, good luck with everything!:goodvibes :flower3:

I second that. if you are dealing with that you definately need a break, I so remember dealing with that with my Dad. I loved him dearly , but needed to get away to refresh and renew from time to time...........ENJOY...

Thats awesome!! Have a great time and let us know what you think!!! We arrive in April so we have some more waiting to do. Hope you trip is magical you deserve it :wizard:

Thanks everyone for the well wishes!!! :grouphug: We really need to get away and regroup and so far everything is a go...In the last two weeks, all three of my kids, my husband and now myself have been sick:sick:! I'm not even going to jinx myself by saying MIL has been healthy. I'm off to drink some more vitamin C!!!

Just switched from ASMovies to POR June 24-July 1!! This will be our first time staying at the resort. We are really looking forward to it!!:yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

We will be there the same time. 6/22 to 6/30!:woohoo:

We stay at POR for most of our trips. We are in the 2 adults and 3 moody teenage girls stage of our life and have stayed for 10 nights. I find that it is difficult no matter what the size of the room to stay with 3 moody teens!:rotfl2:

I cant wait to hear what they say about you, behind your back!:lmao: :lmao:

We have stayed at Riverside multiple times before and love it! We usually stay in AB, but my DH is wanting something different, so we were thinking about the mansion rooms, but I have heard that because they haven't been refurbished in recent years they are kind of gross. Anyone been there recently that can confirm or deny this??? Thanks!

We just got home from an 8 night stay in Oak Manor, building #90. Our room was in good condition and I'd be happy to stay there again. I did notice a few places on the outside of the building where the paint was peeling a bit but it wasn't major.

Thanks! We had been thinking about CBR, but we all love POR so we thought the mansion would provide my DH with enough of a change! How was the Oak Manor locale in regards to the food court/main building?

Glad you had a good stay! I am jealous! I have to wait until Sept 2010!

We stayed at POR last June for 7 days and are a family of 5. We did stay in the Mansions however and Disney provided us with a rollaway bed as opposed to the trundle option in AB. We had a 2nd floor, corner room overlooking the river and it was perfect for us. It was me, dh, ds 9, ds 7 & ds 4. We had no issues whatsoever and would highly recommend it to anyone. We were in the Parterre Place section which was really only a 3 minute walk from the hotel lobby but was so peaceful. Right around the corner from a quiet pool and laundry room. At night we'd swim in this pool and I could do my laundry at the same time. The dining was awesome with lots of choices for everyone. It was really busy but we never felt like we waited for anything there. The CM's were nice and efficient and always left us extra towels as they realized there was 5 people in a room. Have an awesome trip. Hoping to return to the World in the summer of 2010 - Ireland calls us home this year!:cool1:

AB was guted and completely refurhbished in 2004 and the Mansions were refurbished around the same time. We were there in May of 2005 and the AB rooms actually had that brand new smell.

Mansions seemed freshened up. In 2006 AB still felt fresher to us. Maybe because the Mansion steps etc are painted, the outside often looks chipped - it's a busy resort.

It's been about 5 yrs since the rooms were refurbished . :) Rooms should not be gross though...it's not been that long. :thumbsup2

How was the Oak Manor locale in regards to the food court/main building?

We were on the far backside of Oak Manor, room 9013 (actually faced the courtyard but it was one of the "wings" on the back of the main building). We were close to the East Depot bus stop. The food court/main builiding was about a quarter of a mile away (I was wearing a pedometer all week) and probably took us about 10 minutes to walk over but MIL was slowing us down! Kids and I could probably have done it in about 5. We had a fantastic Mousekeeper who left several towel animals, including this one.
Oops, just realized I don't know how to insert photos. I'll look into that and see if I can figure it out.

It's better to have a long ticker then no ticker at all. That's my theory. :thumbsup2

Very true ;)

I do really like the small pools at POR. We have always stayed by a small pool in AB- it will be especially nice now that we will have a little one on this trip! He will be turning three during our trip!

We have my parents, DH and DS (who will be turning 3 on the trip), so I was thinking it would be nice to be close to the main buildings. At least I have awhile to figure it all out :)
