For anyone that is at POR over the next few weeks, could you keep an eye out for rehab activity and report back? Construction is supposed to start the end of June! Hoping that there will be rooms available by the end of August :)

Thanks!

The Acadian House refurb is apparently due to start on 26 June, with a tentative completion date of 5 August, so you might be lucky.

Have any of you done online check-in & made request that were met? This is our 1st trip & we'll probably do online check-in since it seems to make things smoother. We're a family of 5 & paid for the preferred room in hopes of a close building but I'd also like to request 1st floor. Should we wait & just do regular check in since we have this request or could I go ahead & do online?

we just go back yesterday did a gg with 12 for 10 nights 3 rooms booked back in Aug. and req close building. It was our 8th visit usually cb but need rooms for 5 we alway's have paid for preferred locations but where it is now $30 a night was too expensive. One in our party had a heart attack in may and one has trouble walking so our TA called day before we arrived and again spoke to assistant who said all of our requests would be met...........we were put into building 38...and no one could find the assistant our TA talked to......
only because we had a Dr note they agreed to move us but we had to spend one night in 38 then move the next day to 14.....because our TA made grand gathering reservations no one would talk to us when I tried to check to see if a cake we requested for our grand daughters birthday, when we showed up it wasn't there but the hostess sent to another location for one and did not charge us....went to blizzard beach waited an hour and a half for a bus to come back....8 year old grand daughter went to Typhoon and did the snorkling thing the next day her face blew up another guest said they soak the masks overnight in some solution....no one would tell us what they were in they went to first aid and hotel staff all insisted it was a 3rd degree sunburn even though she had no other burn anywhere...we asked for a dr were told they didn't take ins. and it would e $300 - $400...finally called her Dr at home who called TL and found out they soak them in alcohol over night and if they are not rinsed off they can cause chemical burns on sensative skin...we are not complainers but I had enough and went to CS they were very sorry a rep did call and asked if they could do anything I asked him to check on another GG reservation he did and called back to say it was set..got there and it again wasn't.....my opinion is that disney has grown so much the parks can't handle the people 1 1/2 to 2 hours wait on almost every ride........we left right after fireworks from MK and because it was open late people wern't .moving took 1 1/2 hours to get back......because of medical reasons had gac cards if not mild manered grandmother would of went postal..........but the six grand kids had a blast.......so it was woth it

Thank-you:flower3: My camera is nothing fancy though, just a little Kodak digital pocket sized camera. I attribute the niceness of the pics to the beauty of the resort:thumbsup2

I can't wait to go back either....hope time flies for you!

Take care:goodvibes

Lovely! Where is this one taken? KCmike, all of your pictures are so well done.....what kind of camera are you using? I never seem to get these results. Do have any hints you would like to share?

Canon XTI SLR. It is a very old slr compared to whats out now. For the shots I try to find something interesting, compose it, make sure the lighting is good, and that the camera is set to produce the best shot possible. (cloudy, direct sunlight, tungsten light). The more shots you take the better off you will be. I find that I get about one good shot for every five or more I take. Thanks for the nice comments.

This shot is over by the mansions right near the river. It is a very lovely area. Thanks for the nice feedback.

It may have been an item on the old Breakfast menu at the restaurant.

Sadly, they no longer are open for breakfast. I miss my sweet potato pancakes.....:sad1:

It's the lovely little gazebo just outside Magnolia Terrace. Fabulous photo (nice wide angle shot).

Too funny; I bet I have passed that thing a million times, but never sat inside it, so I didn't recognize it from the inside.

Neat pic!
