Tigger Fans! it was 6 months after our first tour and meeting with a guide before ohanafamily bought his first points. In fact the guide actually told him that he didn't vacation enough to make it worth his money. But he brought the information home, stewed over it, went back to WDW a couple more times before taking the plunge. And now not only is ohanafamily a firm believer in DVC, he's a big "preacher" of its virtues. In fact I'm sure he'll share the spreadsheet he put together with you that explains why DVC ownership is so good. (He whips it out whenever he thinks he has a captive audience.)

(As for his sleep apnea, well, he's not having any trouble sleeping in the guest bedroom - which is where he is right now sawing logs...)

RRBB what is BCV like, we have never stayed anywhere but OKW and this year we are going to a week at BCV and then a wek at OKW. The kids want to be at SAB.. plus I am trying to convince DH that we need more points and to buy at BCV.

Tigger Fans! My older DS is a Boy Scout and DS #2 is a Cub Scout. He is bridging in February to the Troop.We love DVC but then we bought in 93 when there were park passes.. But it is so nice to be at OKW and have a kitchen and laundry and the big tub.. Hope you like it.

I have to do a fast clean on the house and the laundry. i am going to a super crop today from 3pm to 1 am. I need to get my pic's in order, so I can get a lot of pages done. I need to get summer vacation and spring break done before the holiday pictures roll in.

You guys are all a bunch of concert-going-freaks! I guess I don't get out enough. Ohanafamily- can't believe you saw Olivia Newton-John, I "honestly love" her!

[color=dark orchid]RRBB[/color] and geffric, mind if I get in on the cruise discussion? We went on the 3 night cruise and loved it! I did get sick enough to do this<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_119.gif' border=0></a> a couple times. Our first night out was extremely rough. The waves were 14' and the boat was rockin', the doors were slammin' open and shut and you literally had to hold on to the walls/rails to walk. Even the staff members were laid out in the halls and said it was the worse they'd ever been through. It didn't help that I was 14 weeks preggers and already nauseous. DD-5 at the time also lost her cookies (really it was Mickey soup). Anyway, after the waves subsided it was so wonderful! I wish we could just go to Castaway Cay everyday. You would never know there were that many people on the boat, would you?

You did a fantastic job on the poll. The only way it could have been better is if you had voted for SILVER.
Sounds like your cruise was quite eventful. When we were on our 7-day and being chased by a hurricane, we had some 20+ foot swells. A lot of people had trouble the first day or so. But when they put out the "wings" (stabilizers) I could hardly feel the sway.

Tigger Fans!, you're killing me with your relentless campaign for purple.

We both know that SILVER is the superior color.

geffric I think one of the main reasons I like BCV so much is its proximity to Epcot. It's so easy to walk there, less than 5 minutes. It also has nice theming, of course. And the pool is a lot of fun. (BTW, what is SAB? It's Saturday so the brain isn't working so well.)
Have fun at your crop. I hope you get lots done - I usually end up talking so much I don't get anything finished.

We also were followed by a huuricane on our 7 day cruise, and had to miss Castaway Cay. Bummer to the kids. Also, the DVC Member cruise was way cool, we met all sorts of cast members, like collectable experts, Jim Corkis, and even one of the designers of the ship.....

I spent a lot of time in the theater in High School, and when there was a problem, not very many of the people had the presence of mind to save the scene. I remember once in Music Man the guy playing Harold Hill had a costuming problem and there was a girl with a small part on stage for about 5 minutes stuck there, and she said the funniest story about a problem she had shopping that day. We were all panicked, and the audience loved it. she used lots terms from that time period... she saved the show. It sounds like you did a similar thing, and a great save.

geffric, RRBB Likes BCV more than all of the rest so far. OKW has transportation problems, and it is really cool at BCV to be closer to the back gate of Epcot than to the boat to take you there. The rooms are well themed, and we could see Illuminations from our window...

We are still in discussions...If you think you can make great colorful pages for Purple, wait until you get me started on DVC. If you go to Disney more than once every 2 years, it pays for itself. We have used it to go on all 3 cruises, and were staying on points at OKW when I proposed. we have 400points, and have yet to bank a point. RRBB SAB is Stormalong Bay the waterpark of sprts at BCV.. the silde and lazy river etc.. The kids love it and since we can't pool hop to BCV anymore we thought we would stay there. I hope that we will like it so much, being close to Epcot and all, that DH will agree to an add on. I would love to do the Memebers cruise, I imagine that it is a bit more Magical than the regular, but then I might not win the Disney trivia contest..



llebrekniT sorry that you had a little rough water on the cruise.. especially preggy would make it so much worse....Maybe the next one will be smooth sailing. The first one we did was a 3 day and ds#2 , who was 4 at the time, when the cruise was over, he wouldn't leave the ship, he cried and cried and said but "MOM, let's stay stay on and go anain.. I'm still having fun". Mean Mom made him get off.. So we booked the 7 day as soon as it came out. They are exicted to be going this time, too. DS#1 will be 3 days short of 13, so he is dreaming of the Teen cruiser things to do.

Hey everybody! Busy day, basketball/cheerleading madness started today. DS-11 had 12:15 game and DD-6's was at 2:45, across town. Anyway, DD-11 months is finally getting a well-deserved albeit unappreciated nap.

Some friends and I went to the Horse Park to see the All the Queen's Horse's exhibit. We spent some time in the antique shops in Georgetown, and had the BEST pie at a little restaurant (can't recall the name!) there.

We have stayed at OKW, BWV, BCV, and gone on 3 cruises using points. We also stayed a week at the Poly with a certificate we got for buying points in a special...

With the DVC you get a little larger room, a few extra benefits depending on the size, A Kitchenette, but Maid Service once a week. One other perk...Can you say Washer and Dryer in the 1 BR models!!!!!! [color=9932CC]Robin[/color] Likes to pack clean clothes, so she can do a load of Laundry, we can go out for a while and come back to use the dryer.

If you are renting points you are probably paying $8-$10 per point. If you factor in the initial investment and the annual fee, the hard cost per use point is about $6. I have never rented nor have I rented out my points, [color=9932CC]Robin [/color]and I have been running a deficit since day one. We have used all of this years, and have 15 points left in next years supply.

I though about renting points for our trip to DL, but I got a deal through DTA, and it was about the same as $7 a point (plus that didn't include Park Passes) so I opted to pay for it (I did the math a while back, and the $7 figure is what I remember...) Plus with Dis-Saver, I get just under 10% back!!!

DVC works if you are going to use it in the home resorts, but the trade outs can be purchased cheaper than renting points...If you want, I can give you the name of my Guide...Since I live in Texas I am not eligible for a referral fee, but I can talk on the subject for hours on end.............
