llebrekniT, OMG, what a story!!! True love, and you knew when it was right WOW.

deadheadbelle, I don't think your story counts because we have all had crushes on Famous People. I remember waiting up all night to see Olivia Newton John on Johny Carson. Do you know the meaning of crushed, when the woman you dream of every night admits to liking Girls on National TV?

Time for a little soul baring?
In HS, my few interactions with girls were all one sided. I remember the Girl I asked to my Senior Prom told me no, I was destroyed. She got all mad at me for being upset. I still had a thing for her (she is 3 years younger than me) We went out a few times, her father hated me. When I went off to college, we kept in touch. She got into trouble, and wound up in a boarding school in AZ. (I think it was court ordered) I would have done almost anything for her. The day I knew it was over she asked me to promise her something blindly. I said I would. She wanted me to go out and buy her some LSD, and mail it to her. I do not and did not do drugs, but I had a neighbor who was dealing. I could have gotten it for her, but I could not bring myself to do it. I KEEP MY WORD, so I had a very strong moral dilemma. My neighbor solved it by telling me he would not sell it to me. (He tried to have a conscience, he didn't, but he saw how torn apart I was) To this day I have never forgotten about making blind promises, and it has been known to really bug Robin...That is the story of the first girl I ever told that I loved her....

llebrekniT what a great love story and how wonderful that your DH and Dad have such a great relationship now! You could write a book or make a movie about it. I like the happily-ever-after kind of stories!
My first love happened when I was 21 (young and naive!) with a man who was 34. We met while taking a group of people with disabilities away for a weekend and we spent hours talking in the van on the way up and back. My friend noticed and without telling me, she put my phone number into his backpack! A few days later he sent me flowers and I got his number from said friend. When I called him to say thank you, he asked where I got his number and I told him "the same place you got mine, Lori gave it to me". That's when he told me that he'd found my number in his bag when he got home and assumed I had put it there!!! He had already asked Lori if she had done it and she denied it! I was so embarassed!!! But it all led to a really sweet first love that lasted almost a year. He was a very kind man that treated me beautifully and never took advantage of my age and trust. In fact he was the best man at my first wedding. (Now that didn't end so nicely but that's a story for a different question! :p )
Sleep well everyone and dream of new tags, Godiva chocolates and trips to Disney!!!

Have a great day!:bounce:

My first love...Well, I was walking by this big store in California, when I glanced into the window. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I knew I had to have her for my very own. I went into the store...she was absolutely gorgeous, all dressed in blue, accenting her dark coloring. I went over to her, sniffed her like a puppy will do, then I licked her. she tasted so sweet and wholesome. That was my first love, a Wonka Bar...

Speaking of which, Wonka Bars for everyone!!!!!

I just popped over to the DB for a second, Baloo, take a deep breath, count to 3, they are not worth the effort...Eat one of Nephosauruses Wonka Bars. Isn't that what they fed the kids in Harry Potter after they made contact with the Dementors?

More Snacks for everyone!!! I don't want to eat healthy today!!!

:bounce:

Morning All,

No snacks or chocolate for me today, thanks. I'm down another pound and two pounds away from my mini-goal.....so I'll pass even on the cyber-treats! As a matter of fact, I'll share some Atkins friendly breakfast with you:

Deviled eggs (and I make the BEST)
Ham roll ups (with cream cheese/Grey Poupon/dill)
Grilled aspargus wrapped in bacon (Ohamafamily, try these at DL, Bengal BarBQ in Adventureland!)

Everyone have a great day....and if I don't make it back in time, everyone in the Ohanafamily family.....have a great trip!

Cheeringmom....I PM'd you regarding WDW.

Ohanafamily, I keep telling myself that they're not worth it but I don't seem to LISTEN to me very well! Just when I think I'm not going to post anymore, somebody says something that I feel compelled to respond to. I think there should be a DB support group or something. Sheesh!

Having said all that...I would LOVE a Wonka bar right about now! But, I'm also trying to adhere to a low-carb, low-sugar lifestyle so I'm afraid I have to pass. But thank Neph for thinking of me! :)

Thanks for the suggestion ibouncetoo, but I think we're gonna have to pass - Ohanafamily won't eat asparagus and I'm allergic to pork. Oh well.

BUT, Baloo and Jackie...

Hmmmm...I bet we could market this and sell it on eBay. Those people will buy ANYthing!

Didn't sleep well last night. That's what I get for revisiting my teenage years before bedtime. I did forget to mention one thing in my story. To this day, Mom and Dad have no idea we went to California, they still think we were camping up the road, so shhhhhhhh! don't tell!

ibouncetoo - no offense please, but none of that sounds very good to me this morning. How about some of Chef Mickey's french toast for everyone who's not counting carbs this morning? I too am just 2 pounds away from my mini-weight-loss goal. I have lost a total of 24 since May. Some of it was baby weight and the rest was just regular-type fat. Anyway, I'm in no mood for health food either, so I'll be hanging out with Ohanafamily today.

depplyinluv - I'm sure you were just joking about that being your little bottle of rum, right?::yes:: Say "yes". Good girl, you are too young to be drinking. ;) And princesses do NOT drink, right? Ok, I don't want to have to take your tiara away. I really had a feeling that maybe Miss Barb had left it behind. But it's size does suggest someone little could have been stashing it.

Nephosaurus?

Field trip to the animal shelter today with DD-6. This will be trouble. My precious little girl has a heart of gold and loves animals so much. She takes everything to heart and I know those animals are going to make a huge impression. We already have 2 pugs and a guinea pig - I just can't do another animal! But I know what's coming...............

Have a great day tagliarchy!

Boy...all these stories of first loves that are so romantic...or tragic...or...both! I could dive into the story of my first real love...but just thinking about me nearly drives me to wanting to set things on fire so I think we'll move past that...

How about the strange story of meeting and marrying my wife...

I had been on a tour and basically run out of money and resources in Nashville. Rather than find a way home I decided to take up a temporary residence with my parents who had during my tour moved to the music city. I took a job managing a store in the local mall in order to make money again (I won't say what story suffice to say they just recently settled a thiry million dollar class action suit for false pricing...I TOLD YOU SO K B TOYS!!!...ahem...where was I?) Anyway...around the holidays Cori, my now wife, came in looking for seasonal work to help pay for Christmas. She was a single mother of one and struggling to say the least...oh ANY she was HOT!!! Needless to say I hired her right there on the spot.

Time passed...

We used to joke around a lot in the store. Most of it revolving around my oggling girls in the mall and her calling me a horn dog. That and we talked about the fact that she never could go out because of being a single mother and having nothing to do basically. I told her off hand one day she should come out with some friends of mine and myself and she said sure...and it never happened.

Come closer to Thanksgiving...

The flirting kicked into high gear. She'd wear tight jeans and midriff tops on her days off and come in the store and I would act like a smarmy dork...we were headed in the right direction. Anyway the conversation regarding her never going out came up again and I told her we should go out sometime. She said "OK"...hands me her number and vanishes out of the store. I then turn to my buddy and say..."I...think I just asked her out!"

We went to a karaoke place I used to hang out at. I sang her some songs and then we went to see my sister perform at the club she sang at in Printers Alley. After that we ended up at a Waffle House eating pie and talking until five in the morning. From then on we were inseperable.

I had one more tour contract to play out before being done with the road so we spent as much time together as possible. With each passing day I felt closer and closer to her. A couple of weeks before Christmas we're sitting in my parent's living room and I'm holding her and say..."Ya know...I'm gonna marry you." She laughed it off but as the words came out of my mouth it was like a light went on...I HAVE to marry her. I knew if I didn't I'd regret it for the rest of my life...and this was not a month after we met.

Told my mother and rather than laugh it off and tell me I was being foolish she backed me one hundred percent. I left to do the tour for five months...and my mother and her planed the wedding as I would wander back into town on occassion and help when I could. I came back in May...got married a week later.

I've never been more thankful for going with a gut instinct in my entire life! The day after Thanksgiving will mark the anniversary of our first date...five years ago. Next May 29th we'llhave been married five years...some people called us insane...I'll take this brand of insanity any day of the week!

morning

did I tell the Gone in Sixty Seconds story yet? DBF and I now think of it as our movie

Good Morning All!

You've been busy little posters! It was super fun to read through all your stories! ::yes:: I'm thinking there might be a movie plot or two out there! :teeth:

Does anyone know who would have left about a dozen or so sticky-sticks from Mickey bars under the sofa?
I think it must have been Neph ~ forgive him though....I don't think he could reach to put them in the garbage can. ;)

Just when I think I'm not going to post anymore, somebody says something that I feel compelled to respond to. I think there should be a DB support group or something.
HB ~ I don't know if you can EVER get the last word. Just hang out here....we're more fun anyway!

So....we're on first love stories??? I'd have to say that I have lots of stories that I would term "puppy love" but I didn't know what true love was until I met my DH. AHHHHHH....brings back such great memories!

I need to run DS to the doctor. He's been home from school all week with a sore throat and we have an appointment for a throat culture. I'd better hurry!

TTFN!

Haven't had time to read the posts-will after everyone here is asleep. But in a real dilema. Sam is sick with either bronchitis or the flu. Doc is not sure which one (I guess that is why they call medicine a practice) anyway, we leave Fri am. I'm not sure if I should lv Sam here with a friend as planned or have dh stay home with her (he is not much of a dis fan anyway) I think he just wants ot go for the baby. I haven't spoken with the friends sam is staying with because not sure what I should do. Advice please!!!

When it rains it pours and she has competition tonight and is going.:umbrella: :boat: :( I feel like a sinking ship right now
