The New and Improved Official Home of The Tagliarchy!

I've always found romance to be a challenge...I guess I'm such the clown that every time I try to do something romantic it turns into more of a "wacky antic"...which honestly I think my wife prefers anyway.

For instance last year for Christmas I bought my wife this beautiful jade ring...but rather than give it to her I also bought this god awful pair of slacks three sizes too big...well she took them back (as I knew she would) and the courtesy desk clerk she spoke to when she returned them said..."I can see why you wouldn't want these...maybe you'd prefer something like this..." at which point she produced the ring and I came poking my head up from behind the counter as well...she almost lost it laughing and crying at the same time...

That's about as close to seriously romantic as I get...although I do buy her a dozen roses every week.

Ok enough mushy stuff...bring on the silly!!!

I'll share

DBF and I went to the same junior college and we bonded during a function(boring as ever). My cousin decides to play matchmaker and gives him my number. We talk almost daily over the next few months and we dated for a short time.We did lose touvh(nobody's fault) and reconnected last year. We've been a couple for a year and I'm just as in love as ever

Did I promise Romance or what! ;)

Satine, beautiful story, keep us aprised of any developements. Do you think your DBF will ever pop the question? and if he does, will he do something as romantic as Rick? Maybe something like Disneyland Paris!

Hmm, now to work on the adventure...Rick, I know everyone wants to see your trip report, especially your non-magical moment...

:bounce:

Court and Rikku thanks for sharing. Great stories!! Wow, Court, sounds like the right one!!! hmmmmmm it is so nice to get gushy (is that a word??) in the morning.
Ok my turn...

For our 1st anniversary -1986-Pete gave me a day of beauty at an upscale salon in Boston, came to pick me up in a limo-with a new outfit-that I adore!! took me for drinks at Copley square in which he put a Irish wedding ring at the bottom of my drink. I thought the waitress dropped it and continued to pour my drink on the table to get to the ring! (what a goof :teeth: )It was beautiful! then we had a romantic dinner at Top of the Hub restaurant loking over the city of Boston.

The next anniversary I was pregnant, living in FL, helping my dh put a sprinkler system in the backyard!!!hahahaha So much for romance.......
\
Rick-do you see why I love the irish wedding ring???? isn't that the ring you gave Joe??

 GOOD MORNING!

Congrats Rick! When do we get to see pics? :D

...although I do buy her a dozen roses every week.

CS...that's a keeper and I don't say that often since as I father of girls I'm programed to distrust all males.
::yes:: ::yes::

Rikku, I didn't mean to forget your story, it was wonderful as well...A dozen Roses a week! wow that is a good one; you must know a good florist...

cheeringmom, another beautiful story. Maybe the Tag Fairy is romantic and will tag you with a special romance tag...

awww

We've only been together a year so I see no question popping anytime soon

Welcome back Rick and Mad. I'm impatiently waiting for pictures. :teeth:

Ohana, with all the setbacks leading up to your trip, your trip can't be anything other than perfect!

All these romance stories are so nice! :D I confess, I'm not the most romantic person in the world. If my DH was giving me flowers every week, I'd probably complain that he was spending too much money ;) . Either that or I'd be wondering about ulterior motives  . I'm sorry. I'm being negative. Sorry, I woke up this morning with a big pimple on my chin, and I feel fat. I think I need chocolate and a good cry.

Oh Barb, cheer up, it could be two big fat pimples!!! You are pretty funny. I'm with you. I think I'd be thinking of "uh oh, what did he do wrong to give me flowers every week!"

PS you can have my chocolate. I have a whole bag of hershy hugs just waiting for you

Good Afternoon all! Sorry I'm late to the opening day but I had to read on the old tag to know it had moved! But happy in our new home...I bring the Sacred Hand Grenade (who says we aren't violent? ;) ) and I must say a big AWWWWW! for all the romance stories and onyl hope I find a guy as great as the ones around here some day!

So, in welcoming the tag fairies to our new home...here's some chocolate chip cookies, fresh out of the oven (and I didn't set it on fire this time!) along with candy corn all around! and of course...

Boy...a guy tries to do something nice for his doll and automatically he's obviously up to no good! :p

Actually, I was thinking of "what did he do?" I was thinking more in the line of "what does he want from me?" :teeth:

Thanks CM. I thought that by the age of 38 I wouldn't be getting these once-a-month-honkers anymore.

I have to jump in here and tell tales on Ohanafamily. One of the first things he told me when we met, in fact I think it was the night we met, is that he's a HopeFUL Romantic. Just one example... After dating for a couple of months I was assigned to a project out of town. I traveled out first thing Monday morning and headed straight to a team meeting. As the meeting ended, the project admin called me to her desk where I found a dozen long stem roses waiting for me - 11 red, 1 yellow. Boy was I shocked.
(I'm still wondering how he figured out how to find me , though not complaining.)

Barb, it's not based on your chronological age, but the age in your heart, don'tcha know. I guess that's what a hedonistic lifestyle does to ya!! :teeth:

Actually, I got many dirty looks from people at DFW Airport while she was a road warrior; I would meet her at the gate with Roses. I would get smiles from girls getting off of the flights, Dirty looks from their DBF's, and I occasionally overheard the "Why can't you do something like that".. Once her flight was redirected so she wouldn't be back till the next day, so I gave the roses to the gate agent do distribute to people who were stuck in the airport and couldn't get a room.....

Good grief. This is not the kind of stuff I need to be reading right before lunch. I might as well just go ride Mission:Space a few times and get the same result! :teeth:

Just kidding! I may chime in with my own stories at some point but for now I'm just enjoying reading everyone else's.

Okay. Now I'm REALLY depressed. DH just came back into the office with our old passports--summer of 1990. I was 25 yo and just married. I can't believe how young I looked. But the long dangling earrings and black and white leopard print shirt HAS to go! LOL.

Sounds like you were hooked to me:teeth: And it seems to me Ohanafamily saw a good woman and didn't want her to get away. Just from his posts, I can tell he is a romantic. Maybe he and Rick can start up some kind of business to teach men how to start the fire again. Kinda like "queer eye for the straight guy" but can be a mix of men trying to teach a mix of men how a woman really likes to be treated!! We have Rick, Oahanfamily and Rikku (yes you!!) any other romantics out there???;)
