The Never Ending Pre-Trip Report Nov. 11 and New Year's '12!!! - TR LINK! 1/15 Pg33

Great pics of Wrigley, I really want to go there someday! I love old ballparks, and Fenway and Wrigley are the only ones left! The next time the Red Sox play there for Interleague, I'm taking a little trip out to Chicago to see them!

I really want to cancel some ADR's too, I mentioned getting rid of Artist Point to my DH but he doesn't want to right now, but I have a feeling I can convince him! :) I'm afraid our whole trip is going to be run by ADR's!

I can't believe you're going to start packing already! I'm 4 days out from my trip and I can't let myself pack yet! I even took my suitcases out, but then put them back! :rotfl:

You should definitely come to visit someday so you can see Wrigley. It's the only ballpark I know, so I feel lucky because of that. I couldn't imagine a ballpark any other way. I don't know if you've visited Chicago before, but it's really a great city to see. I just went Downtown yesterday for a Segway tour, so I'm going to post those pictures soon.

I kept looking at my schedule and I felt the same way. We're on the dining plan, so I tried to be smart in how we organized the trip, but the last ADR just felt like we were forcing it. I think it's best this way.

I had to start packing, because the way that the next few weeks are looking for me, I didn't want to feel pressed for time to get it done. Packing early helps me feel better. And I don't pack everything. Just clothes and things that I can do without.

Single Digits!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Hopefully I'll have an update of sorts for you guys. I did a Segway tour of Chicago on Saturday and I'd love to tell you about it. It was soooo much fun!

Woo hoo, single digits!!! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cool1: :rotfl2:

Seems like just yesterday I was doing the single digit dance...now I'm hours away from my trip!

I know! I'm so excited! I'm excited for you too! You're probably just counting down the hours.

So random update for you guys.....my dog got skunked last night!

Seriously! It was right on the stoop of my house, she went outside, saw it, tried to get it, and the skunk just let 'er rip! It got all over her and because the skunk was on the stoop, it went straight into the house too.

Everything smells. Ran out last night to get the skunk removal items. Hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and hand soap. Mix it together and it removes the fragrance. From the dog. Nothing I seem to do is getting it out of the house.

My visit to Walmart last night was my most embarrassing visit EVER! I walked through the store and everyone could smell us! I was sooooo embarrassed.

I took off of work today to make an appointment to get the dog washed and de-odorized again, and then have to shampoo all of the carpet in the house. Ugh.

Not the most fun. I can't stop smelling things. It's disgusting.

NOOOOOO! Aw man, that is so AWFUL! Skunk smell is just funky! Something like that makes you want to hunt down the skunk and make it pay for having such a rash reaction to your dog just wanting to play.

And of course, you're busy at work, so it sucks to take the time off anyway, even if you were sick - but you can't let that smell linger.

How did the dog react?

Interestingly, I was sitting in our downstairs den last night and could smell a skunk odor from all the way outside; the door was open upstairs to let fresh air in, and the smell in the air was so strong that even our downstairs air purifier wasn't cleaning it out of the air fast enough!

I'm all caught up with your plans! :woohoo: on getting Cirque tickets at a discount price and your car rental at a great price too!! :yay:

SINGLE DIGITS!!!!!! Not long until your trip at all - hope you and Farrell have a great time. I feel for her after riding Dinosaur during our trip!

Yay on the yeti coming with you - can't wait to read all about his antics! Oh no at the skunk smell - hope you manage to get it sorted.

My mom was very irrational about it when it happened. When we were driving through our subdivision to go to Walmart, she was telling me "that skunk better lookout, because I am going to run him over!!!"

I hated having to take time off, but everything that I read about it says that you have to handle everything immediately, because if you don't, it will linger for a long time and you could have to potentially replace carpeting and such. Definitely don't want that!

Nanook panicked a little bit and was rubbing her face all over the carpet just trying to get the smell off of her. Hence the reason the carpet has to be cleaned. At this point, it's just in my nose so I smell it everywhere.

I'm glad you're back! It felt kind of empty without you.

The skunk smell is getting figured out. It's just taking a while. Nanook is at the groomer right now getting a bath and odor treatment. Apparently it's like a four hour process! :scared1:

Uggghhh, I'm so sorry about the skunking! We came very close to having that same situation with Bailey a couple weeks ago. I opened the front door to let her outside and, just as she stepped out, I smelled the skunk smell outside. I panicked, not knowing if the skunk was still nearby. Bailey took off searching for it. I didn't see it, so I hoped for the best, ran outside, and dragged Bailey in before it showed up again. We were lucky that the vast majority of the smell stayed outside. So close! Sorry you (and Nanook) had to deal with all that!

This is the first time that this has happened to her (fortunately). Stupid skunk was right on our stoop and it was dark out, so there was like no time to react to anything before it happened. House still has a scent, but I've heard that it takes a while for it to go away.

Yikes, sorry about your dog being skunked!

On the bright side...your trip is so soon! :cool1:

Eck! I'm sorry to hear about that. I've smelled dead skunk driving down the road and remnants of spray, I can only imagine how bad it was in your house. Hopefully it will be gone soon, just shower a lot :thumbsup2

So how's the skunk smell now? Hopefully it's gotten a lot better - poor Nanook, too. Maybe the smell will be all the way gone before you leave for WDW; or will fade while you're gone.

Yeah, it being in the house is nothing in comparison to smelling it on the road. There just are no words to describe how absolutely disgusting it is. It's fading, it's just lingering in the house a little bit.

It's better. The foyer area is where it is lingering at the moment. We've done everything we can, so according to everything I've read, only time will get rid of it now.

Nanook's okay. She smells pretty good. I took her to PetSmart and had her bathed and deodorized. They said the only thing we need to worry about is that she might smell slightly when she gets wet.

Well it's just the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it?

I couldn't help laughing about the skunk...this happened to my cousin only he was the one that chased the stupid thing and got sprayed! Thankfully he was in the woods and the house didn't suffer too. But he had to drive home and the smell was so bad he was almost naked when he arrived. It took us forever to deoderize him and his truck! That smell is awful and amkes your eyes water so bad!! YUCK!!!

Your trip is almost here!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

And such a lovely gift too.

You know, I laugh about it now, but it was so not funny when it happened. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if it was me who got skunked! You're so right though, it totally makes your eyes water! Ugh.

I can't wait. I have five more work days to get through, and we leave on that fifth work day.:banana::banana:

Oh no! What a crappy thing to happen right before you leave on your trip! Hopefully the smell comes out. You dont wanna come home to that smell after the windows have been closed for a week
